Hi all,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 and I want to play content on my TV. There's always MHL but Miracast/WiDi seem like it's becoming a standard for wireless display and it looks promising.
Does the Samsung Galaxy S2 support Miracast/WiDi?

I am interested in this too... why is no one talking about this... as far as i see the galaxy s2 has all the hardware to utilize miracast, so whats with the no love?
I understand that WiFi Direct available with Galaxy S2 is what you're looking for. I'll test this today as I just purchased a WiDi/Miracast enabled TV. See Miracast page on Wikipedia: it explicitly mention Galaxy S2 as first Miracast enabled mobile.

I disparately want TV out features on my Samsung Galaxy ACE.
Has anyone tried getting TV out from Samsung Galaxy Ace??
I have come across many ways of doing this like :-
3.5 mm to RCA (nokia cable) or
Mini Usb(newer version ) to male Hdmi
there is no option of TV out in its original firmware but i am pretty much sure "Qualcom 7227 Chipset" does support TV OUT, But for some reason the samsung has not written the Code/driver etc for this purpose,,
As far as i know Only a pro developer will be able to pull this off, who will be able to create a custom ROM which would have the TV out feature like Galaxy S.
Till then i will have wait and watch,
hey i want to have the same thing, and i was so sure that i have seen a rom with this feature. but i can't find it anywhere -.- i used google and i tried the forum search.. finally i'm angry

this requieres hardware support for the TV out. And i don't think samsung added that to the ace cause this feature is not used. Just that the chipset supports it is not enough.
Galaxy ACE supports DLNA. If your TV is a DLNA certified, you can use this technology to have TV output wirelessly.
i know it has dlna .. but i want TV out somehow... if some app could it!!
or am just dreaming .... i better buy a new phone.
Well I guess it wouldn't exactly be TV Out (RGBA/Component) but you could probably hook up your phone to a laptop in Debug Mode and use ADB to show its screen on your laptop. Then you could hook your laptop up to a television. Complicated, but gets the job done.
There was a thread like this one already, some1 posted a vid that the Ace could successfully TV out. The dev said that it could harm the processor or something, so he stopped developing.
watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8c7PG7AL4Jw
The original Galaxy S has this feature any developer knowledgeable in this area and able to port it from the Galaxy S... new kernel maybe?
it will cause gpu burning of aceeee
I agree with cpu burning. The same like what do not runs Screen cast app on ace... because the hardware is not to strong for this...

Looking for suggestions on how to connect G.TAB 10.1 GT-P7510 to the TV...
I know there is one for the Ipad 2, but I dont think it has the same connector..
is there anything released for the G. TAB 10.1 ???
Samsung has the HDMI cable
Galaxy Tab™ Adapter (HDTV)
EPL-3PHPBEGSTA
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab/GT-P7510MAYXAR-accessories
I take it, the adaptor for the galaxy tab (GT-P1000 OLD VERSION) will work on
the GT-P7510 GALAXY TAB 10.1 .
tnx 4 letting me know.
the HDMI adapter for the 10.1 isn't available yet
Will the adaptor for the 1st galaxy tab work ??
Looks like Expansys has the EPL-3PHPBEG in stock. $37.99 + tax, shipped. 2% CB is available if you're an FW member. I can't post links yet, but go to their site and search the model number, and you'll see it.

you just take the dock from 7" and the plastic holder from the desk dock of 10.1"
Ok heres the dilemma. - Please can you check my though process here......
Ultimately its a Galaxy Tab vs Nexus 10 question but before you all yawn, for the purpose of this comparison, lets ignore which tablet is better in every respect except sending the screen to a TV in the room.
I'm figuring out a solution for a company with 5 meeting rooms in new premises. They have all their content on Google Mail / Drive and want to present to customers or have internal meetings and look up mails / watch Youtube videos / have video conference meetings on Hangout / Skype. They want to 'upgrade' from a desktop PC linked to a wall mounted TV. They want to buy cheap LCD TVs. The rooms all have a wall mounted power socket and ethernet port and wifi in the room. All directors have Samsung Galaxy 3S phones and all staff are being encouraged to move to this phone.
[I started by buying and testing one of those mini-android HDMI sticks but there are loads of security issues. This is a non starter. The Apps administrator has banned these devices. I can detail the security issue in another post if anyone wants to know.]
I have settled on a tablet solution. Its portable, secure and cheap.
Here is the problem...
If I go with Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 then I get Allshare Cast. This means with a cheap dongle available now, I can retrofit a cheap TV and get pretty good screen share.
If I go with Nexus 10 I get Android 4.2 with multiple share, and Miracast but I am worried Miracast is gonna be like WiFi N where its not really available for another year or so. I cant find a dongle that is actually for sale and I saw a review on the Nexus 10 which said that Miracast is not on the device even though the OS support it.
I was wondering if I could get 'Allshare Cast' working on the Nexus as a stopgap until Miracast works?
Alternatively, I get the Galaxy tab now and then upgrade to Jellybean 4.2 in due course?
Last question... Will Samsung Galaxy 3S phone be able to send to Miracast screens via the Allshare Cast function. (will Miracast support All Share cast)?

This Galaxy Tab 10.1 (first gen) does not have Allshare Cast and will not be getting Jellybean. Need to ask your question in the right forum.
Hi all,
Imagine: you come home from work, place your Galaxy S2 in your docking pad or station(or w/e its called), turn on the 23"+ monitor and start surfing the internet, listening to music, watching videos/movies - with your docked Galaxy S2 - as a 'PC'
Does such a device exist yet? The dock I'm asking for handles(or should) the following:
- the galaxy s2, charging while docked
- the hdmi monitor
- the usb2.0 keyboard + usb2.0 mouse
- 5.1 or 7.1 audio speakers system
- ethernet port (preffered)
or something similar to this - with the above list - for galaxy s2: http://us.aoc.com/monitor_displays/e2343fi - note the: "with built-in iPhone®/iPod® dock."
Sorry if this was asked before, I've searched but no match. Similar thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441993&highlight=docking+stand

You will never find a dock which allows HDMI and USB simultaneously. MHL simply doesn't work that way. Only one (either HDMI out, or USB) can be used at a time.
You'll need a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to achieve this

something similar for galaxy s2? (or s3)
that one works for s3, but it seems the usb slots will not work, hardware limitation on phone?
whats the difference that note2 has and s3 doesnt have, that lets the usb work on note2 but not on s3?
edit: ah, I see, link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_High-Definition_Link#11-pin_MHL-USB_Connector

Yes, I should have been more clear. 5 pin MHL on the i9100 does not support simultaneous USB & HDMI. This is a hardware limitation.
Note 2 and Galaxy S3 have 11 pin MHL.

going offtopic a bit, it seems the s3 11pin is not backwards compatible, so not really MHL, but proprietary(to sell s3 specific accesories), link: http://www.galaxymhl.com/ ... original thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1836822
back ontopic, could the samsung multimedia dock be used with s2?
PS: I hate that I'd have to purchase bluetooth kb+mouse just for that

There are many versions of "the samsung multimedia dock", for many models of Samsung phones. You'll need to be more specific.
And no external dock is going to change the fact that the i9100 has a 5-pin MHL connection, which still will not support simultaneous HDMI out and USB.
As for the off-topic, there are adapters you can get in order to plug an S3 into an existing 5-pin MHL adapter.
EDIT: here's one direct from Samsung.
I want to do more with my galaxy note 3. I'm looking at these two Samsung products and I'm not sure what to get. Someone kindly know what's best to get between the Samsung HomeSync and Samsung Galaxy Smart Dock Multimedia Hub. Thanks.
