I've tried searching around, but I can't seem to find an answer. Back when the Virgin Mobile ICS ROM leaked, I mistakenly flashed the firmware along with many users. Later, somebody came up with a fix for the connection issues, etc. I did that fix, but it never changed the carrier text on the lock screen back to Sprint. Is there a way I can permanently change it back to Sprint? I've seen ways to do it temporarily, but if you flash a new rom, it'll say Virgin Mobile again.
I want to see if I can sell my Evo 3D soon, but I'm afraid people would freak out if it says Virgin Mobile... Any ideas?
There was a partial fix which you may have done, this link leads to the complete fix.

Hi, I have searched the forum for this same issue but have not found a fix, I just bought an Evo 3D and I can't connect to the 3g service. The phone just keeps saying Mobile Network turning on I have done a data and prl update and it has not fixed the problem. I was wondering if anyone else had the same problem and was able to fix it? Thanks

I am guessing it is not rooted since you just bought it? I would try a factory reset and go through the activation again and see if that fixes it. If it doesn't, I would just take it to a Sprint Store and have them take a look at it.
I rooted the phone yesterday so now I don't know how to take the phone back to sprint
When you make a call, does the call go all the way through, or do you get an error message?
You could always flash back to stock and take it back I guess. Let them look at it and then re-root. I would try flashing a different rom after doing all your wipes and see if that fixes the problem. I have had connectivity issues among other things from a bad flash. Reflashing fixed it though. Just a thought!
Try factory reset. Should still be rooted after its done.

My co-workers phone service got cut off recently, and after it was re-connected, she lost 4G. I had her on Synergy 255 and had the latest radios I found which was CDMA: 1.48.00.0906 LTE: 0.01.78.0906. Even when I updated her to Synergy 262, the problem persisted.
Anyone know what might have happened, I know the recent OTA update for gingerbread has been giving people problems, is it possible the OTA update problem also affected her phone since she was already in gingerbread?
I just put BAMF Forever 1.0.7 on her phone, and it's still only able to connect to 3G, is the problem on verizon's side?
Check your settings in say an app like LTE on/off make sure she is in LTE mode or cdma/LTE

tried to put her on LTE mode only a few time before, and she can only get 1x speed.
Unroot it, return to stock with the full RUU and see if its busted. If it is you probably have a bad radio in the phone...I had to send my first TB back a week after I got it for this reason.....
Customer service was very helpful believe it or not, just make sure you tell them you have already done a hard reset on the phone, done the OTA's and 4G still doesn't work. The will ask you your build number, etc. to make sure it matches what's "in the system".
So just return to unrooted Froyo, do any and all upgrades to get it current, if it still doesn't work you should be able to get a new phone.

I'm hoping I don't have to go there, but it seems I'm not the only one with the problem, since I found some people with similar dilemma on the radio thread.

Sim card
Another idea is that the sim card is dead.
Verizon 4G sim cards can't be reactivated once their deactivated, this happens when you try activate a 3G phone on verizon from a 4G phone, the sim will be dead in 24 hours, I'm guessing the problem may be the same here, once the SIM was disconnected in the system, it can't be reactivated.
Unfortunately to get a new sim, you'll still have to return to unrooted stock to get support from Verizon, but I expect the phone itself is just fine.
Verizon employees are still somewhat inexperienced dealing with these 4G sim cards from what I've seen in stores, so they may have failed to account for that when they reactivated the service.
That seems more likely to me than the phone just happened to break when the service was disconnected.
Did you ever try just flashing another radio? It's worth a try. I would try flashing the radios from the 1.70.605.0 build.

You we're exact on the mark about the sim registration. I told her to replace the sim. And sure enough it worked after it was activated. Glad I didn't I have to resort to going stock and unrooting... She probably would've beat me up...

hello, I have a rooted and bootloader unlocked htc amaze.
I have checked the threads here but for my wind mobile network, mms is not working.
I am surprised you can have 1 apn for both internet and mms.
is anyone having the same issue or better yet resolved this?
Thanks for any help
I have the same problem, i tried putting in APN Settings for Internet and MMS on a telus unlocked HTC Amaze 4G. I suggest you try a custom rom (bulletproof? or energize i think they have the correct APNs built in and with a newer Camera App)
Hm same situation here but I am on mobilicity. Weird it used to work on X's 3.5 sense but on NRG it doesn't.
If ur on nrg rom, if ur not on tmobile u need to manually enter your carriers apn settings
Check here for apn settings:

I already did
I am on most recent energy rom release.
I have 4 apn's pre populated, don't know what 2 are for, Broadband and WAP.
The internet and mms apn's that are pre populated, all look OK.
Spent couple hours on phone with Wind tech support and they no help at all. They just told me to do hard reset, then checked my account, all looked OK. They refreshed settings and reloaded things on their end, still nothing.
Try deleting all the apn that are not for your carrier. Shut down phone and do a battery pull, then see if it works. Not sure it will i just saw it recommended in a diff devices forum

Thanks for suggestion, however, only apn's showing are for Wind, my carrier.
What about the broadband and WAP apn's what are these for?
Never seen them before. Should I delete them?
Thanks

Ok. Had the same problem setting up my mom's Amaze on Wind. It did not want to receive mms not matter what I tried. I called in to tech support, battery and Sim pulls. Got frustrated as hell with the locked APNs!
But in the end, the magical key to unlocking mms on her phone was so damn easy....try sending one instead of just testing by receiving them. Don't know why I hadn't tried it sooner. Also don't know why it worked. I just assumed it initialized something within Wind's backend. After that, it receives perfectly every time!

thank you to all whom have replied, however, it is still not working for me.
Could it at all be linked to the ROM?
I am currently on the most recent version of Energy.
I am almost for certain I had it working at some point previous to this but just not sure when (not sure if I was rooted yet or which ROM or maybe I was OEM, not sure).
After you root and put custom ROM on, is it possible the Wind network sees you as a Non Wind phone even if you bought the phone from a Wind store?
Just trying to trouble shoot this.
Thanks for any help others can provide.
My Mom's phone is fully stock. However it had this problem originally. This was the first phone from Wind. Everything else was either Tmo, nexus, or a dev device, but all worked for mms. I have a feeling its on the network side. Call them back and push them to dig a bit deeper.
Mobile Internet on ICS doesn't work.
I was running GB on WIND, with the phone unlocked and with S-OFF. Then I downloaded the T-Mobile ICS upgrade. After the ICS upgrade everything works except Mobile Internet. I tried the WIND APN's to see if that would help, but no joy. Any idea why the mobile internet doesn't work after an ICS upgrade? Wifi internet works just fine.
I also tried to load the WIND ICS upgrade (over the air version) I found on the WIKI (after the fact) but it won't load over the T-Mobile ICS build.
Ok to start i bricked my virgin mobile s-off unlocked phone by flashing a rom that wasnt compatible. So i sent it to mobiletechvideos.com to unbrick it, and when i got it back it was flashed with sprint stock everything. It was supposed to be virgin mobile. Also am not getting service at all like no mobile network period. wifi works fine. Firstly i tried to flash back to virgin mobile but the ruu.exe for vm says wrong image version or incompatible or something along those lines. So i tried the sprint version of the ruu.exe and it worked, but i dont want the sprint i want virgin mobile. So i flashed a p86img for virgin mobile radios firmware etc. and it look just like Vm again, but still no service or mobile network. Im wanting to get activated to my account again with virgin mobile. On the Network info page for operator name it shows unknown and service state no service.
So question is, Is there any way i can get service with vm again?
Also, the esn/meid numbers were different than what were on the back of the phone so i zeroed them out and got them to match again using dfs, dunno if that info matters or not but told yah anyway.
EDIT: Also my gf has the exact same vm phone so is there anyway i can pull the info from hers to make mine vm again or something?
Suggestion for next time..
Virgin mobile has a one year insurance you could of easily called & they would of send you a new phone. No charge.
But to answer your question..
Try changing your APN to virgin mobile that's probably why you have no data
I also recommend getting s-off again which seems to be the reason the virgin mobile ruu won't flash on your device because of the sprint switch
-it looks like you have already done this with the PG86IMG.zip file.
Just call virgin mobile & they should send you a new one right away.
You are the right track but due to the rules and laws Xda cannot willingly provide information on how to clone ESN/meid numbers to another carrier. What I can tell you is that you will probably need to use CDMA workshop and qpst, get the proper diag drivers. Google it up and learn how to do it. Once you successfully change your ESN/meid numbers then call virgin mobile and have them activate your phone. Keep in mind that taking a prl update or data profile update will revert you phone back to sprint. Or you can buy a default virgin mobile evo v 4g
Ok so what and how do I go about getting away with getting a new phone from vm? Does it need to be s on and unrooted etc ?
Hello all,
First post on XDA; I've been searching for this issue for the past 4 hours, and found very little. I hope I haven't missed anything.
Long Story
Had a rooted phone, tried to flash JellyBAM; worked, except that kernel got messed up (touchscreen didn't work). Problem remained even after restoring HTC Sense. I assumed it was b/c my phone still had S-ON.
After successfully running DirtyRacun on my Evo 4g LTE, I flashed JellyBAM 7.6.2 (using TWRP 2.4.4.0, wiped Dalvik, Cache, Factory Reset & System first). Everything worked fine, except that there is no mobile network whatsoever. When booting JellyBAM, it prompts me to activate my phone:
"A special call needs to be made to activate your phone service. After pressing 'Activate', listen to the instructions provided to activate your phone."
I do this, but the problem is that I get an automated message: "Your account is not authorized to make calls to this phone number. If you would like to have additional capabilities added to your account, please call Customer Service."
This is the same message I get trying to make any phone call. Nothing (data, calls, etc) works on the mobile network now. I called Sprint to see if they could simply de-active then reactive my phone, but it appears to them as already activated. The tech I spoke w/ thinks I may have deleted the Sprint programming.
This sounds plausible, but what's REALLY WEIRD is that *2 still dials Sprint perfectly, and holding 1 still tries to check voicemail. So clearly some aspects of it connect with Sprint still. I have no idea what's messed up, unfortunately.
I don't believe JellyBAM is the culprit here, b/c after DirtyRacun but before flashing JellyBAM, I still had this problem.
Helpful Info
Android Version: 4.2.2
Radio Version: 1.12.11.1119
Kernel version: 3.0.73-g5d13a2c
JellyBAM 7.6.2
Question
Is there anything I can do to fix this so that my phone can reconnect with and use Sprint's mobile network? I'd really like to preserve JellyBAM, S-Off, and Root, given the amount of time and effort it took to get those working. Thank you so much, any help would be greatly appreciated.
First, try updating your radio.
I'd say to RUU back to stock and see if the problem persists. If it does then take it to Sprint and they should give you a replacement if you have the YEP. I had a similar but not so screwey situation, a few actually, like yours and when I lost all network Sprint replaced my phone. I've always had success dialing my voicemail after attempted activations and then my phone would kick back in within about 15 minutes while keep texting and calling my home phone.

Thank you for your response, I really appreciate the help.
I updated my radio, which went smoothly, but unfortunately it didn't work. What's frustrating is that I don't even know what the problem is. I know it isn't the ROM I flashed (since it had the same problem on HTC Sense before I flashed JellyBAM). It seems to have started after DirtyRacun S-Off process.
I'm still pretty noob so I don't know what else besides radio it could be. I'm really reluctant to try and restore my phone to stock due to the amount of time I spent learning to root and S-Off it. Wouldn't want that to be in vain, though I might not have a choice at this point.
Is there something I should try next?

Before calling sprint, Google the 4g lte dialer codes, I'm sure there is one that activates the wireless reactivation process (that was the case with my old gs3)

I know after achieving S-off, I had to call Sprint due to a security issue. I couldn't make calls or anything.
It was painless and took all of 5 minutes.
