Was wondering, if I partitioned my SD card, will Link2SD move my App Data, not like the game app data, but like the data stored in Applications, like Facebook.
Will this also be moved? Or will it stay hogging my Internal Memory?
Thanks.
With Link2SD, you choose what data gets moved, on an app-by-app basis.
Okay, thanks. Time to copy off all of my data onto my PC so I can partition my SD card.
Thanks once again!
Just dont move the app to SD card if you are using Links2SD , Open Links2SD select you app and Select "Create link"

Hey guys someone said darktremor app2sd is included in the megatron rom. but to enabled it you must partition your sd card and upgrade ext2 to ext3 and so on. i have done that. but after i installed facebook for android, i check in the manage apps in settings, my fb for android "move to sd" are still grayed? i havent test on other apps though. or maybe the fb for android are meant to stay in the phone memory? or maybe i did wrong in the partition thing?
btw, my O1 are now finally back to normal for four days. im happy. so please confirm asap before i need to format my memory card in re install my apps over and over again.
The option is still there since it just tricks the system into thinking that the app is still in the internal memory. The app's data files are symlinked from the memory card to the internal memory.
Try installing an adequately huge app and see how much the internal memory goes down.
Hmm, my twitter and atk "move to sd card" is grayed too. am i doing something wrong or what
For the last time:
if the ROM developer said it has app2sd, then it has it. You don't have to do anything. The apps appear to be installed in the internal memory, but physically they are stored on the SD card, in that ext3 partition.
Some apps cannot be moved to SD card - apps that run as services and widgets. That's why their "Move to SD card" button is grayed. But if you installed them yourself, they went to the ext3 partition.

I just want to move the apps that i installed from the market. thats it. hmm now im installing restaurant story and ibeer let see if my internal memory decreasing or not. i post the result soon
Hmm its decreasing but only 1mb from 164mb to 163mb. both apps is 10mb+. i think my app2sd has been enabled after all
hmm after installing bakery and farm story, my internal memory decrease to 150mb. LOL now im not sure
App2sd will sym link and keep program data on sd card. But dalvik cache will remain on internal memory and it will increase everytime when you install something. Thus you will see decrease in internal memory. You can also move dalvik to sd but io would reccomend to keep it on internal memory.

how to move the dalvik to sd card, and why u recoomend to keep it in internal..????
Hello,
My internal memory is about to be full due to the applications installed on the internal memory not to the SD card. Is there anyway to move the installed applications to the SD card?
I tried to do that from Application management but the move to SD card button is inactive.
Thanks
Try darktremors app2sd...
Sent from my GT-S5830 using XDA App
DT A2SD script or use S2E.
The move to sd card option is inactive because those apps are protected apps, that is,apps that cant be moved to sd card.
If you are reluctant on rooting, then use the force install apps to sd card hack,it moves apps partially, same option when you root your phone too.
Flashing script method is recommended though,Frees up your internal memory a ton
or you can just try forcing apps to sd with titanium backup

Highly recommend S2E. Moves Dalvik Cacheto the SD freeing up about 100+MB to the SD card. And use Titanium Backup to batch move them to the SD. Make sure you select the right apps to move. If you move your theme and such to the SD, your phone will quick reboot every time you turn it on. Don't move things you're using on your phone to the SD unless they're apps.
Here are some screen shots to prove I'm not lying
Got the number of apps installed, amount of memory free and S2E working its magic ;D
I cant find on market s2e
okay, so the question is, can i move the actual app to external sd card using directory bind ??? not the data of the app, the actual app, and where can i find the apps installed from the market ?
No
Hi all
q: how i can move data files like ( facebook data files not only app ) from internl memory to sd ??
When moving some apps like facebook,Whatsapp by link2sd app method, data is also moved to sd card with app. If you running any big games, game data is movable to sd card.
Hit thanks if I help

up up

or you can back it up using titanium backup
note: dont move widgets on ur sd also system app
As said earlier, link2SD won't move the data folder of the application to the SD card.
The "Move to SD" action moves the .apk file to the SD card (in /mnt/asec), but leaves the data folder and the dalvik cache (the name_of_the_app.dex which is in /data/dalvik cache).
The best way to free internal memory with Link2SD is to move the application in internal storage, then to link the .apk, the dalvik cache and the libraries to the 2nd partition of the SD card.
Example : an application has a 3Mb apk file, a 1Mb dalvik cache file and an 5 Mb data folder including 3Mb libraries.
All in internal storage : 9 Mb
Action "Move to SD card" : 3 Mb on the SD card (the .apk file), but 6Mb remain in internal storage (dalvik cache and data folder)
Action "link to 2nd partition" with everything checked (apk file, dalvik cache and libraries) : 3 + 1 + 3 = 7 Mb on the 2nd partition of the SD Card, 2Mb only in internal storage (the data folder without libraries).
To answer the first question of the thread : I don't know if it's possible to move the entire data folder to the SD card. I never found a way to do, it may not be allowed by the Android system.
Thanx all
i want to move specific app data(/data/data/klb.android.lovelive and subdirectories) to sd-ext partition(/data/sdext2/)
Directory Bind or FolderMount are moving data in /mnt/sdcard/Android/data and obb files to external sdcard, which for devices with internal storage.
i'm not trying to move obb files or data in sdcard.
is there any way to move one app data to sd-ext? i don't want to move hole /data/data to sd-ext(data2ext)
I have a similar problem, can't download or move apps to sd...will keep checking this thread

HI
to move the data to sdcard you can go to settings/apps/manage apps (it might be different for you just go where you usually manage your downloaded apps) after that select the app you want and click on the button "move to sdcard" or you can use appmgr or other app to sd like apps : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.a0soft.gphone.app2sd
i guess directory bind can bind any directory even data (it's been a long time since i didn't use it though )
and sd card partition is not in data/sdext2 because data is an independent partition , it might be found in mnt/sd-ext or something like that though , just investigate your root directorry with a root explorer
sorry, but app at your link doesn't move data app, only app... I'm wrong?
