I know you will be loosing everything, well unless you have a backup. I would suggest NVflash back to stock with CWM recovery. Then reload the ROM of choice to see or even just boot it into TapUI so see if the problem is Hardware related or UI related. It is tough to say.
i think its hardware, i gave it a nice hard wack and it seems ok...
the thing is i started to save/backup and go back to tap tap. thinking ill use my warrantee,
now it is stuck in a boot mode, turns on, starts to run but only getting to the tap embelm. it does this over and over maybe 6 second intervals..
any ideas??
i cannot get to cwm, and reload gtab or do anything. am i screwed??

Try NVflashing with the stock 1.1 BL with recovery ver.8 preinstalled, after done power device off by holding down power button. The just boot straight to recovery and do a data wipe factory reset then reboot system. The reason for the boot loop is there is still something on the name that the tnt software doesn't like. After you get it booted up then advice just NVflash 1.1 stock with stock recovery and it should boot right up afterwards. The reason for the 2nd nvflash is to remove any tracef the customs recovery.

Sounds like that you are using the NVflash with Stock recovery. When you hold down volume + and press the power button it is booting into stock recovery hence the triangle symbol. You need to get a fresh NVflash setup that includes CWM recovery and use it.

I am using Liquid Thundersense 1.4...I went into the liquid toolbox last night to do a wipe because I was going to flash a new rom. When I said yes to the wipe it turned off and then cam back on at my like main (i guess it is called a bootloader screen) and it will not get any farther than that...I'm not sure what to do about this because the only way the phone responds to anything is by pulling the battery or holding the power and both volume buttons down to restart back to the same damn thing again...I have never had a problem like this so I'm not sure where to go from here...Any help would be appreciated greatly!
I searched everywhere and could find anything this specific
OK I think my terminology was a little off...I guess the bootloader screen is the white screen where you can access fastboot, recovery, factory reset, etc...I still have s-off according to this screen...I can get here by holding down the down volume and the power and I can get to clockwork recovery. But it's when i try to reboot after either one that it gets stuck at that first loading screen
It sounds like you need to put a ROM on your SD card, boot into recovery and flash it from there. Did you not do a wipe and erased your existing ROM? No wonder the phone can't boot anymore.

You are right.
The white screen is the bootloader.
When you get to bootloader navigate to recovery.
if you have made a back up in the past you can go to backup/recovery and recover your old back up.
If not you will have to do what the user above said.
Put a rom.zip file on your sd card and flash it in recovery.
cowisland...thanks i did that and it worked...i must have done the damn wipe wrong or whatever, but i put a rom on my sd and it took care of the problem!

CWM won't work on my AT&T SGSII. It installs ok, but when I boot into it, anything I choose just goes to CWM hat logo and stays there until I hit any key. Then it goes right back to menu and I have to pull the battery to reboot into android. The device is rooted and I have no issues other than being unable to flash or nandroid or anything through CWM. It's driving me nuts!. I've tried going back to stock and several kernels and same issue persists. Anyone have any tips on how to address this?
You could try updating cwm in Rom manager from the market place

Using home button to select? If you're using power button it will cause menu to disappear.

You just need to go to school to get a higher education in the
proper useage of Cwm Recovery
Hi everyone,
I appreciate the help and I'll try to make this brief.
I had AOKP ICS on my SGS2, but then my power button broke. My phone is still under warranty so I wanted to take it to the ATT store to see if they will replace it, but before that I wanted to return everything to stock.
I followed this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313659. I used I777UCKH7-CL503881-No-BL.exe.
After flashing the stock firmware using that guide, my phone boots up to the ATT logo and then keeps rebooting.
I read somewhere that I should wipe data/factory reset to fix this, but I can't because in 3e recovery, you have to hit the power button to select something and my power button is broken.
Is there any way to fix this boot loop without having to click the power button at all? And making sure not to increase the flash counter which I've taken care to keep at 0?
Really, I just want to get my phone back to stock so I can get it fixed.
Thanks very much for the help!
I don't know any way around the broken power button with 3e recovery, but it has stock on it now, even though you can't boot to it, so I'd just take it in as-is.

I only followed methods that never increased the flash counter, so I've never needed to wipe it. I tried some funky things to do factory reset in 3e, like trying to send/emulate a "power" button click using adb while the phone was in 3e, but that didn't work.
I think I'll take your guys advice and just take it in as it is (unless you can think of something I can do to get it to boot into stock!) and if they ask why it is not booting I will tell them I tried to do a firmware restore in Kies and now it is not booting or maybe just play dumb and say it was working fine before
Hope this works... I still have a year before I'm eligible to upgrade and I don't want to go back to my old iPhone! Hehe
Went down to the ATT warranty center, they replaced it no questions asked.
Guess I was worried about nothing
Thanks
Hi Guys,
Last night for some reason my GT-19100T running CM9.1.0 wouldn't lock by pressing the power button, the button itself seems to be working. I can press the button down but nothing happens. I left it for the night and came into work this morning, I thought it might be a bug with the rom, i managed to boot into recovery via the "Rom Manager" app and was going to flash to CM10. My problem is now that i am in recovery, I can't select anything as the power button is not working. I can scroll through the recovery menu with the volume buttons but cant select anything, and now soon as the phone turns on after removing the battery, it goes straight to recovery mode and i cant get around it.
I have tried leaving the battery out for about 3 hours and same thing. I can boot into download mode, But at the moment that doesn't help me.
Any suggestions on what i can do? I'm not worried about warranty so i may pull the phone apart and clean it tonight. Thanks in advance.
Update:
After much playing around with the button i can get it work, it is very temperamental and requires to be pushed in the right way. Was able to flash with Touch recovery and am now updating to CM10 nightlies. Thanks all for your help on my first post.

Hi!
First, have you tried flashing a stock firmware? If that does not help, you can try cleaning your hardware.. it may be dusty or something.. be careful! I hope you get this sorted out.
Also, i hope my suggestion will help you out, cheers!!

I am currently flashing back to xxlpq via odin and see if that changes anything. Will post back with results.
Thanks.

Okay, Flashed back to stock ICS rom, Got a little bit further but still no go. It gets the "S" loading screen and stays there, Still cant do factory reset via Android Recovery as it also needs the power button to select. Someone suggested installing CWM touch recovery but i cant find a .tar version of "recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.1.5-galaxys2" downloaded from CWM website. Any suggestions on how i can install this without using recovery? Thanks.

I guess you have to flash them with odin..
1. Flash a stock firmware to get you out of bootloop
2. Flash the latest siyah kernel cause it's a touch recovery via odin as well
Do you want me to post the links or will you find it yourself?
I hope this helps, cheers!

Power button shot craps for no apparent reason so I called up good old AT&T as the device was still under warranty and they sent me a new one. I was rooted so naturally since I had to send it back I figured I would need to unroot. Did just that using ODIN and the ICS 4.0.3 firmware released via Samsung Kies over the summer. However I am now stuck in a boot loop. And I have read that the solution to this problem is to enter System Recovery 3e and wipe data/factory reset. However without the power button functioning how can I select wipe data/factory reset? Will it even be an issue if I send the phone back and it's unrooted but stuck in a boot loop?

Pressing the home key does nothing. However pressing the menu key shows an oblique view of an android with that blue not-quite-spherical shape spinning around in it's abdomen. I'm not sure if that accomplishes anything at all as I've had it sitting here like this for about a minute or two and nothing else has happened. I feel it's probably just a useless little animation.

Excuse me for being a bit ignorant but could you maybe point me in a direction where I could find out how to do so? It's been a really long time since I've done anything with adb.

Oh you smart ass haha. I'll figure it out and try it. Thanks.
flash a kernal with odin which has a touchscreen buttons to control.
Recovery mode has USB debugging auto-enabled. Use ADB to wipe data. Oh, and if you flash rooted ICS via Odin, you can get SU access in ADB, and you can remount the entire thing as rw so you can wipe more stuff. I had almost exactly the same problem as you :cyclops:
