Rezound bootloops after unlocking bootloader - HTC Rezound

I unlocked the bootloader on my Rezound a few hours ago, but ever since then it has been stuck in a bootloop. I wasn't on stock though, so did that have anything to do with it? I've tried reflashing the ROM, and that doesn't help.

How did you flash another ROM without unlocking your bootloader?

Agreed.. If you weren't on stock then your bootloader must have been previously unlocked.. what Rom are you using/trying to use.? You need to have a custom recovery installed after you unlock, you couldn't have flashed a rom from stock recovery..

Bootloader was locked, but it was unlocked previously, and a custom recovery had been installed. When I got the phone, it was rooted, S-Off, and on the stock ROM. It had Amon Ra's recovery already installed, but again, as I said the bootloader was locked.
EDIT: Oh and the ROM I was using (successfully before the unlock) was CounterShrike.

Well first off if you were s-off why did you need to unlock your bootloader? What hboot are you using?

Collin is right.
All you really need to do is wipe everything and flash a ROM. Since you are s-off everything else will be taken care of.

Okay. I haven't really been using HTC devices so I didn't know what S-Off actually did. I went ahead and fixed it with the RUU.

S-Off unlock bootloader

Is there a command to unlock the bootloader with s-off without having to wipe all of my data and everything?
There is no need to unlock. S-off is all that you need. It can do anything.

It actually would not let me flash recovery without having the bootloader unlocked again. It was disappointing and erased my data... grrr

You need root to get s-off. The only people who had root were people on the shipped rom when the phone came out. Every OTA since has not had root, let alone temp root that the shipped rom had. So you absolutely need HTC Dev unlock to get s-off, and yes if you havent done it yet, it will wipe the phone. Thems the breaks.

Not what I meant. I already had s-off and it relocked. It then would not allow me to install amon ra. I was asking if there was a different fastboot command to just change it to unlock now since we have soff.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
I had to unlock too but reused my token.
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code. is the command
Edit: My bad this probably isn't what you were looking for.
I didn't have to re-unlock.
I asked about this in the discussion thread but was never answered.
I just fastboot flash recovery .zip
and HBOOT flashed my roms boot.img and I was back with the addition of S-OFF
I've flashed several Roms since, while my HBOOT still says Tampered, Locked, S-OFF.
Finally, since I'm on ICS, I flashed the Juopunutbear modified HBOOT.
Everything seems to be open and working fine without re-unlocking.

Not sure if you still need this but i just used the rezound AIO to flash amon again right after and worked fine no unlock. Tho I still have my bin file if I need it.
afaik if you did s-off and you're on GB firmware, you need the ENG Hboot to flash recoveries using fastboot commands, otherwise you have to use PH98IMG.zip's... but that's just what i see, i'm not 100%.

[Q] Stumped! How in the heck do I get S-off and wifi working?

I have bootloader ver 1.05.0000 and my S is on. I am trying to get it turned off. Both revolutionary and thunderbolt tool fail at the rooting portion. I already hack clockworkmod flashed and am running a thunderstick full blown (for now). I want to update my radios and attempt to fix my wifi. So how do I go about getting the s-off on this thing. I have adb and can log into the phone push/pull files and send it commands. What am I missing?
Ever since i flashed clockwork and got a working rom installed my wifi has been KIA.
Thanks,
Barry
I tired this method: http://www.thunderboltforums.com/fo...690-downgrade-get-s-off-now-unneccessary.html
No dice. Still says S-on revolutionary still didnt work thunderbolttool worked then opened revolutionary, but revoutionary still failed.
What now?
Make sure you disable your computers firewall and virus protection. Sometimes it can cause it to hang up.
Also make sure USB debugging is turned on.

This post is much more updated and he has made a tool and new instructions to root.

I have tried that tool from that post. It loads updates and tries to root. I have to post what it says, but it looks like it was successful. Then it opens revolutionary (?) witch fails when it tries to root. I really am stumped. With bootloader 1.05.0000 how do you guys get s-off? I've been trying for 3 days straight. I am running Thunderstick Full Blown 2.3.6 and sense 3.0.
Unlocked

Android Ver 2.3.6

Thanks,

It seems to me that you're going to have to unroot. Restore the stock ROM RUU and unroot. Then root again with the tool and then you will have s-off.

To use Revolutionary you have to downgrade via RUU, the exploit it used was patched some time ago.

I unlocked the bootloader with HTC Dev or whatever. Then used ADB to flash clockworkmod recover onto the phone then booted into recovery and used clockworkmod recovery to flash thunderstick full blown and thats it.
Thanks,
Barry
You don't need to downgrade, but you do need to be on a stock rom (.19 or lower) for the root to work. Here's a stock .19 ruu that should work for you: http://goo.im/devs/trter10/PG05IMG.zip
edit: just noticed the last post. Just going to warn you, you will not be able to flash an ICS or AOSP ROM with just htcdev unlock

I think I was confusing.
So as of right now I have
My phone unlocked
Clockworkmod Recovery flashed
A custom rom installed
S-on
When I get home
flash older RUU
run tb tool to get sf and root
re install clockworkmod recover and custom rom
Sound right?
In terms of my WIFI what could be wrong with it? It doesnt work on any custom rom.
Thanks

Well I tried it out and no luck. Do I have to relock my bootloader 1st?
It said loading PG05IMG the blue bar went all the way up then it just went back to the hboot menu. Didnt ask if I wanted to upgrade or anything. After I minute I went into the fast boot menu and rebooted it and it went back to my custom rom I have installed.
What am I missing. I really appreciate the help.

I just re unlocked the bootloader. Lets see if I can get revolutionary to work.
Well I give up After relocking the phone and installing the stock ruu I tried both the revolutionary toool and the tbtool. Both failed when they tried to root/s-off. I tried unlocking the phone then running both tools again. Same result. So I'm back to stock for now until I figure out what I am missing.
Thanks for all the help,

[Q] Tampered

I am just wondering if any one else has seen this I just busted out my old rezoned and went to flash the official ruu and my hboot says tampered Ive never unlocked or rooted this phone is the ***tampered*** from using the leaked ics img
tampered means that it was unlocked then relocked, i think.
I thought it was from flashing a custom recovery, either way not a big deal .
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2
Actually neither. When you flashed the leaked ICS RUU it changes your bootloader label to "tampered." You can get rid of it by s-offing.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app
Tampered means there is a custom recovery. For unlocked it displays locked unlocked or relocked.

Correct you get tampered when you flash a custom recovery, running a full ruu should remove it.. cuz it replaces the custom with stock recovery
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app
+1 for it being due to a custom recovery. Relocking it and running an RUU will get rid of it, although it'll still say "relocked" instead of "locked"

But you can s-off and install a hex-edited HBOOT to one that says locked even if it's relocked.
Doesn't it also say "unlocked" underneath "tampered"? I don't think you can install a custom recovery without having unlocked the phone.
Or did you temp root?

Firmware and boot loader ?'s

OK so I used the bootloader to flash the 3 option in Haus's thread and every thing is working. But....
Now on the bootloader screen it says locked tampered then S-off.
I was told the locked was just wat it was saying and didn't matter.
So do I have a locked boot loader? And does that even matter for anything or was it just required to get root plus S-off?
Did I mess up getting the newest hboot from the firmware? I was told I needed it to run meanbean.
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
I'm not sure what u flashed but it sounds like you flashed the whole thing which means you have stock recovery now. Either fastboot flash recovery image or download thru goo manager.
Once you have a custom recovery installed your all set. Don't worry about the locked on your bootloader

You should have flashed the first file the one with no kernel, hboot, or stock recovery that would have updated everything you needed to be updated

[Q] Factory reset now I can't flash roms?

My phone started acting wierd, so I reset it to factory and now I can't install any ROMS at all!
I had/have S-OFF but somehow I locked myself.
Says **** LOCKED***
SHOOTER XC SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT 158.0000
RADIO 1.09.00.0706
I've tried renaming the downloads to PG86IMG.ZIP but all it does is gives me a progress bar, parses and then goes back to the fastboot menu.
I've tried to install clockworkmod and twrp but since I don't have superuser, it won't work.
I tried pushing through adb and fastboot but no write access.
I'd like to put carbon jellybean on it.
I know I"m missing a step here somewhere. But what is it?
You wont be able to flash custom roms on fastboot and u cant flash recovery because ur bootloader is locked you kust somehow reflash the bootloader or get it unlocked.

OK. I think I understand. I just don't understand how I locked myself and why it is so difficult to unlock when I was unlocked before.
I'm going tyhrough the [email protected] and waiting for my bin file. Hopefully it will come soon.
Once I go through that process, what's next? How do I install either twrp or clockworkmod as I don't have SU?
Well u probably flashed an ics ruu which had bootloader update in it so it locked it. U can flash recovery.img trough adb .

Thanks
I know just enough to be dangerous.
Any idea how long it takes to get this .bin file from the htcdevelopers ?
Once I use that file, then I can what? Just rename CARBON-JB-UNOFFICIAL-20130513-143602-shooteru.zip to PG86IMG.zip in the root of my SD card and then it will work? Or do I have to do something else? If so, what? It's late and I'm getting foggy. Wanted to get this up and running for morning use.
