Morning guys. All was running well until about 20 mins ago. I am running V4.2.1 DLJ4 with siyah 1.7rc1. Dual booting with the Three UK rom as primary.
about 20mins ago my data stopped and the data icon switches from 3G to H to H+ then to 3G and then drops out completely on both roms. I know its not the network as I am using my mates AP hotspot to connect to write this and he is on Three UK too. I have tried different modems but no luck. Any advice guys?

I have been switchin Android roms and everything has been working fine until yesterday my 3g went to ____x signal or hopped from 1-3 bars. switchin to H sometimes also. most of the time its on Edge 3-4 bars. before this i had FULL BARS at home. im getting frustrated. i tried flashing a new rom and radio and android build. could it be hardware related?

ive tried different APNs already also.. before the last couple days ive had Full 3G connection at home. now it flashes full 3g then goes down to 2 or goes to edge. sometimes no connection at all.

Don't know if I'm posting on the correct thread, my apologies if I'm not. My question is for 3G & H speed. I've noticed that I get a good 3G and H connection on my HD2, but for some reason I don't see the speed on my computer when surfing the internet. I've checked the bars while surfing and it comes down to two bars for full bars, but don't see a good result out of it. When downloading a file.. it reaches up to 113kb but then falls between 30 and 10kb. I've restored my computer etc. I was on Elegancia rom, but currently on Energy with Froyostone V3.1. I'm also on radio 2.14... and tried 2.12... But no change in different radios. I have also gotten a new sim card too. Could it be my phone? Anyone with a solution or advice? Thanks in advanced.
Hi guys. Me and my wife both have gs2 and we both are on tata docomo 3G network. The speeds are good and this phone is awesome, specially for someone coming from a blackberry like me. However there is a peculiar problem both of us are facing. The data xonnection sometimes hangs on 3G and does not move to h or h+, and in 3g therd is no data transfer. The data transfer happens only on h+. That means for all practical purposes there is no data transfer. Sometimes it alsi so happens that the phone is showing the h+ icon but again there is no data transfer and i cannot access any internet related app. In these cases when the data hangs the only option is to activate the flight mode and then again reconnect. Then the data works fine. Off late this has started happening a lot. I have tried a couple of things like deactivating h and h+ and working only on 3g but to no avail. Can anyone help with this. I have not been able to test on other networks so i cannot be sure whether this is a device related problem or due to the network. Any help would be highly appreciated.

I am also facing this exact issue. I am on Airtel (India) network. For me, it seems to happen when I am at some particular locations, and works smooth at some other locations.
I just deactivate data network mode and re-activate it (long press power) instead of flight mode, takes only 10-15 seconds.
Don't know if rooting and using custom roms will fix this issue, because I strongly believe it to be network-related. I used to have similar problems with HTC Desire with various sense/AOSP custom roms.
He y buddy. But if ur on airtel and i am on tata docomo and we both r having the same problem, maybe it is not a network problem and is rwlayed ro some handset setting. Did u try the *#302179# trick. Did it work for u. Same problem in othe networks and for some of them this trick worked.

i have the same problem i.e data loses connection. after a fresh flash of stock rom and factory reset , it starts working fine for a week or so and then the shyt happens again . i can tell u , its not a hardware issue, it more like a software issue.
i m not good at android but wen i used to run squid on a linux machine as a proxy server , i recall i had to clear a log file to make data flow possible every few days. i think android has a similar issues some logs files build up or some **** like that.
Happening to me as well.
I always thought it was vodafone's poor network as my phone never downloads data when 3G is showing, it will only show upload arrow, then when it change's to H I get both uplaod and download arrows and starts working fine.
One thing I did notice though is when in Gran Canaria 3G was showing and working and data speed were ridiculously fast compared to here in the U.K
Surely this must be related to kernel used???
I have the same issue on my I9100 KI3, KF4, KG2 stock rom with either KG2, KF4, KI3 or KI4 modem. This is a combination of tower and our phone modem or kernel issue. I am having this issue with AT&T USA on KI3 and KI4 quite often in Champaign, IL. But when I went back to my country in Asia(Taiwan) 3 months ago, KI3 rom and modem have no 3G issue at all. I was on 3G 24/7 for 3 months without any issue there. However, I had the same 3G issue in Taiwan when I was on KF4 modem with KF4 rom when I first bought the phone. This is really a funny issue. I tried all the tricks and switching so many rom and modem, but 3g hang still happens to me with AT&T network. Now I am trying to lock the WCDMA band to 850 only, see whether it helps.
having the same issue here, but im quite sure its network related, inside my office the 3g dissapears at all and the same happends to a friend of mine who owns a SGS2 as well. whenever my outside the internet works as intended
also flashed trizillions of roms and modems before i gave up and blamed it on network rofl
I'm based in NE England and work in an office with 5 other S3 users all of which are on EE. 2 bought Sim free phones and use an originally Orange Sim, one has a branded Orange phone and one has a branded TMobile one. The other person has a Tmobile 4G phone. The only one that isn't stock is one of the Sim free phones (mine)
All but the 4G phone lose signal several times a day but show 3 bars. There is no data connection and the phones cannot make or receive calls. If they are reset or toggled between 3G & 2G then they work again for a while.
This behaviour happens at work and at home. No other phone user has this problem - there are a few iphone & non smartphone users who gloat constantly

Under carrier it says either TM/Orange never EE for some strange reason.

Lots of people reported signal loss on many different devices, I'll blame EE not S3s.... I've got one of my phones on Orange and since EE showed up, I'm experiencing signal problems as well. Many times people trying to call me, my phone shows full reception but is unavailable and voice mail kicks in!!!! It's annoying but this behaviour is a Network fault. Nothing to do with phone imho.
The only thing you can check is Baseband version (modem) of all phones and compare to the one which works fine. Maybe all except one have wrong modems installed. Unlikely but can happen

Has everyone changed their APN to 'everywhere'? No signal problems here in the south - getting four bars, H+ and 12Mbps data speed.
I'm in the south also, no problems here, in fact excellent!
I get bandwidth issues and signal drops. Been on orange & tmobile for years and it only became an issue with the arrival of EE.
Most of the time the signal/speed is great tho.
I'm north west UK
Worth trying one check correct network settings and two try different modems .

Hi flashed the omega rom 43.3 and using Vodafone IN (2G) carrier phone works perfect and no hearing at all and very good battery life... But 2 days ago i shifted my carrier to TATA DOCOMO (3G). And phone stated heating on bottom right corner side. I think may be due to using 3g carrier so i choose network 2g only. But still phone heating continously and please help. My BATTERY DRAINS more than 30 % faster... I am using baseband XXELLA.... PLEASE HELP

Hello!
I have a small problem for last 2 weeks. I'm on 3 Ireland network. Till now all was OK. For last 2 weeks my signal is jumping from H+ to H to 3g, what is very uncomfortable because I'm 24/ 7 on data. And every time when is changing my data connection is lost. My wifes phone is OK. No problems.
I nuke it, I did all what is needed in software ( or maybe I missed something ? )
Can someone give me a small advice?
