I don't know Why Kernel files must be flashed for custom ROM's ?
Since I have used many Roms without flashing kernel zip files! !
I have met no problems! !: :thumbup::thumbup:

They dont HAVE to be flashed. Some kernels are preffered over the default kernel. Its all about user preference. No 2 kernels are exactly the same.

Every rom comes with a kernel, otherwise you would not boot. You only need to flash a different kernel if it will add any features you find useful.

Some one don't like the kernel came up with rom that's they tried different kernel's for different use.

You r trying to say that kernels are optional. !!

Tell some suitable, stable, more efficient kernels which will be more helpful for users like me!

We are saying switching kernels are optional. As for picking one, the decision is totally up to you. Just try some to find what fits your needs.

Not all kernel suitable for all rom.find appropriate kernel before flashing.

So I have been using ICS Crumble which it has it's own kernal. And Now I want to use a different rom that uses a different kernal. How would I do this safely?
If it is a CM9 ROM from the development forum then you can just flash it. The kernel will be replaced automatically

But wouldn't that cause boot looping if i use odin since after I'm done it'll reboot? Or should I just use
Recovery to put them both? If so should I do the kernal first?

Which ROM are you trying to flash? If it is Odin flash able then it will just replace the kernel you currently have. You will only have issues if you flash a ROM without an inbuilt kernel

Im trying to flash a kernel from faux the latest one but from my understanding I have to have a custom kernel so do I have to get a new Rom I'm on stock ics soff unlocked n rooted ?

just download the kernel zip, go to recovery and flash it as you would a rom. You do not need a custom kernel or another rom
I downloaded it like 3 times n I did do that n nothing
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda premium
did you do anything to check if the kernel flashed right? get "no frills cpu" from the market and check if it lets you go above 1.5ghz
Are you also sure that you downloaded the ICS Kernel and not the GB one?
When its about to install or before install it say faux ics kernel so I know for sure its version 007

Hi,
When flashing a new ROM, say CM12, do you get a new kernel?
Yes, typically roms have their own built-in rom. Depending on the rom, you can flash a different kernel afterwards.
