[Q] Mobile ODIN v3.50 - screen blinks when flashing custom ROMs - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone,
Device: Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300
Custom ROM: Omega v31 - XDLJ4
Kernel: 3.0.31-Phenomenal4.0Medium
Android version: 4.1.1
I rooted my device using CF-AutoRoot following the instructions in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957273
I then purchased Mobile ODIN v3.50, and I've tried flashing two ROMs, Omega v31, and Criskelo ROM v18 using that.
In both situations, the flashing works, but when Mobile ODIN boots into recovery mode to flash the ROMs, my phone's screen just keeps blinking. It looks like the recovery mode screen is overlayed with the ROM installer screen, and they just keep pulsing like a strobe light.
Does anyone have any ideas what's wrong? Like I said, the ROMs were flashed successfully, but I don't think the pulsing is a good sign.
Thanks in advance!

S2 hanging on boot screen?

Can anyone help me? I tried to install Dorimanx 7.26 and it just hung on the boot screen so I reverted back to 7.15.1 and now it also hangs and it even hangs on the boot screen with CF ROOT kernels!? Can anybody help me bring this phone back to life? It is on H3H 4.0.4 firmware.
Thanks
What ROM did you use before flashing the kernel. Have you tried reflashing your phone ?
I encountered the same problem before. I tried flashing dorimanx kernel to a ROM of which didn't support the kernel . Therefore, the phone could not boot up.

[Q] Bricked my S2. Now it boots only into downloading mode.

I wanted to install a Custom ROM on my s2, but ended up changing the Kernel. Once I changed the Kernel, My phone showed only the Booting screen. (It reads: Samsung Galaxy SII; GT-I9100). To change this, I accidently started installing a ROM for GT-I9100G. ODIN got stuck and remained stuck for a long time. I removed the plug. Now my phone boots only to the Downloading section. I can't even access the Restoring section. I tried to flash my original ROM through ODIN. ODIN stops responding. What should I do??

Try to install a safe kernel like siyah with odin. Download an ICS based custom rom. Reboot to recovery..wipe data/cache and install the rom

just flash the correct one from download mode
If you can access Download mode, you aren't bricked.
As said by others, use download mode to flash a kernel such as Siyah or Chainfire's kernel (CF-Kernel). Start with Kernel, if everything works take a few days break, read Carefully about any ROM that wakes your interest. Be sure to have the PDA and have unchecked re-partition and you're good to go.
Also check if the yellow box appears or not. If not, install KIES, and then flash kernel.

[SOLVED] Stuck at boot logo screen I9100P

Hallo everybody
I have a Galaxy S2 I9100P (Orange UK) stuck at boot screen
I was running CM 10 (Android 4.2.2) with the latest dorimanx kernel. Phone was freezing a lot though
Therefore I downloaded the stock rom from sammobile (based on 4.0.3) and I flashed it via Odin
I am now stuck at the boot logo (the big S)
I tried to flash a new kernel (Siyah) but nothing happened. I cannot access recovery, only download mode
ADB does not see the device
Any suggestion?

Solved flashing stock again, then siyah kernel, then cm9 from recovery (finally it went to recovery mode)
So, problem solved, eh??

[Q] Black screen after Kernel install

Hello, I recently tried to install the Siyah Kernel verion 1.8.9 to my stock ROM'd rooted Galaxy S3 I9300. After installing it, the "Galaxy I9300" logo appears, then the Siyah logo for a few seconds, then it goes black. The phone is turned on, just black. It can charge, and I seem to be able to go into download mode. Can anyone help? I don't really want to lose my data. :\
If you've not backed it up I suspect you will struggle to recover your data. My advice would be to try flashing stock rom with odin, but you will lose your data then, there is a reason you are recommended to backup before touching your system.

What version of android are you using cause siyah is for 4.1.2 sammy roms only... and if you are using 4.3 then just download a suitable kernel for 4.3 and then flash it through either Odin or your recovery.. For siyah like features go for googy max for 4.3...

Thanks!
I got the GoogyMax ROM like you suggested, installed it no problem, can now use all the features from Siyah on my GS3, and have all my data. You are THE MAN!

Black screen after installation stang5litre Ediition SCH-i545 VRUGOF1

Black screen after installation stang5litre Ediition SCH-i545 VRUGOF1
I have the problem. That my phone is not working after installing the stang5litre Ediition ROM.
That is, it is only the Samsung Galaxy S4 logo, short start-up tone, and the screen remains black and does not respond. Restart with removing the battery.
I was as successful procedure:
flashed with Odin a fresh stock ROM (I545VRUGOF1_I545VZWGOF1_I545VRUGOF1_HOME.tar.md5)
- Handy for Wifi furnishings.
- restart
- Rooted With Kingroot
- Converted to SuperSU
installed Flash Fire -
Then according to the instructions in the OF1 Instructions thread carried on:
Please refer
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...n-5-0-t3132555
Where is the error?
Is it provided for a howto?
I have flashing with odin and Stock ROM because its running.
You may need to use an earlier version FlashFire, the latest version will result in a black screen startup

he didn't RTFM and neither did you
FF likely moved wipe to the bottom on him so now he needs to odin back to stock
I had this same thing happen, but I got stuck in a setup wizard process closing error loop. When I tired to flash to stock, ODIN failed on every flash I tired, so my phone right now is in a soft bricked state with no signed of coming out of it.
No problem for me this rom... is good rom
