[Q] Bricked my S2. Now it boots only into downloading mode. - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I wanted to install a Custom ROM on my s2, but ended up changing the Kernel. Once I changed the Kernel, My phone showed only the Booting screen. (It reads: Samsung Galaxy SII; GT-I9100). To change this, I accidently started installing a ROM for GT-I9100G. ODIN got stuck and remained stuck for a long time. I removed the plug. Now my phone boots only to the Downloading section. I can't even access the Restoring section. I tried to flash my original ROM through ODIN. ODIN stops responding. What should I do??

Try to install a safe kernel like siyah with odin. Download an ICS based custom rom. Reboot to recovery..wipe data/cache and install the rom

just flash the correct one from download mode

If you can access Download mode, you aren't bricked.
As said by others, use download mode to flash a kernel such as Siyah or Chainfire's kernel (CF-Kernel). Start with Kernel, if everything works take a few days break, read Carefully about any ROM that wakes your interest. Be sure to have the PDA and have unchecked re-partition and you're good to go.
Also check if the yellow box appears or not. If not, install KIES, and then flash kernel.

Stuck on Gtab 10.1 screen

I flashed the stock rom back from the poitee kernel and now every time i boot i get stuck at the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 screen. When i go into cw to try to reflash another rom, it says i have nothing on my tab. how do i fix this or how do i transfer a new rom to my tab without it booting up?
been in the same situation, poitee's kernel is still raw, tab not detected in usb, not charging when off etc. Reinstalling another custom kernel may help, but i recommend restoring from a previous backup or re-flashing a stock rom. There's a backup by pershoot available in droidbasement or try searching under threads "reflash to stock"! Just flashing boot.img is no use as wifi/bluetooth modules have been redirected hence won't run unless a re-flash to stock.
how do i transfer a stock img to the tab when i cant even boot?
You CAN enter download(odin) mode right! (power plus volume down(left) when boots leave power while still pressing volumekey choose right image)! Flash a stock rom from odin.
yes thats what ive been trying to do for like 30 minutes now. it gets to maybe 1/8th of the way done and stops.
ive been trying this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1119492
Finally able to get it to pass in odin. tab still just boots to samsung galaxy tab 10.1 and sits there. This time though, every 20 seconds or so, it vibrates quickly 4 times
Flash a stock rom from odin! unselect repartition, try the [stock][euro][touchwiz] rom in developers section, posted by me! Its stock hence will definitely pull you out. Follow the instructions there! Just follow the guidelines....last night i was in the same shoes, the stock pulled me out. The rom from referred post by you, is not pure stock and is rooted hence interfering with boot!

Stock ROM doesnt work

Hi there.
I had a custom rom on my Galaxy S3, and I wanted to go back to stock rom. Before I had a custom rom, I checked my product code, just in case if I ever wanted to flash stock rom. So, I downloaded a stock rom from sammobile and flashed it with Odin. I had a successful flash, but when the phone rebooted, it stopped at the samsung logo and it's like that every time I turn on the phone.
I aslo tried to flash it with the same rom, but from a different site (androidfirmwares), but every time I treid to do that, Odin crashed ( Odin downloader has stopped working).
I can't even boot into CWR to flash any custom rom, cuz it's gone. There is only stock recovery.
Please help
Which Rom were you trying to flash when this happened, and give details of how you flashed please

if you are getting stuck on the boot screen after you flashed the stock rom this always works..go to recovery do a data reset and wipe cache.
this is really weird and a stupid thing I did when I was completely new to android..a little over a month ago.I got stuck on the boot screen and accidentally flash CF-Root instead of the stock firmware..when the phone rebooted it worked just fine.I dont think its supposed to work that way..:S

[Q] Screwed my phone - only have "download custom rom" screen

I'm new here and im only here because i destroyd my S3 software.
i was using cmd 10.1 on my rooted phone but i thought i would try to downgrade it to cmd 9.1
without further thinking (stupid me) i downloaded the 9.1 update from the setting - about phone - etc.
when i then restarted my phone was stuck at bootlogo screen. when i then tried restart to clockworkmod i came right to "dowload custom rom" screen.
i have tried to install a stock rom with odin without any luck and also, by using odin, installed a pit. file. when i now have installed a stock rom i get the normal stock rom boot loader screen but are stuck at that point.
i have also tried to install clockworkmod with odin. just came to the "download custom rom" screen.
Can anyone help me or is my phone totaly broken? :'(

Hi guys, my mothers SGS3 is stuck on bootloop (well just freezes on samsung logo), it was on stock firmware when the problem first occured, i've tried flashing cwm via odin, wiping absolutely everything and then reflashing stock firmware, but problem persisted, i've tried rooting, flashing cwm, and then installing cyanogenmod to no avail.
does anybody have any other ideas that i could try.
Thanks in advance guys.

You flashed stock firmware with Odin, was the flash successful ?
If you need to use recovery, flash TWRP or Philz, CWM is not updated anymore
Try flashing one of the firmwares in this thread.
yeah as far as odin was concerned the flash was successful and set the phone to reboot, but it still just hung at the samsung logo, and right ok im a bit out dated using cwm then it's been a while :Lthanks for the links i'll give it another crack now
thanks again

i've tried flashing CM and MIUI using the two recoveries you linked, still no joy. The download links for the firmware doesn't work but i found an equivalent that also has bootloader, csc files etc and still no joy, odin does it's business and says in green pass at the end of it all but it still hangs on the samsung logo, even when i installed miui, it would install all as planned, but then on the reboot it just hangs at the MIUI logo.
i'm lost completely i've never been defeated by a phone :L

Samsung logo stuck after stock flash from ODIN

Hi,
I have the 925f. I was in a custom rom but had some issues in my phone (7.0 A8 port), so I decided to flash back to stock through ODIN. After flashing G925FXXU5ERA4 it was stuck almost 30 min in samsung logo. Then I went back to DL mode and tried again with the same result. I also tried flashing G925FXXU5EQFC but again it was stuck. I did this several times.
Am I lacking something? Any help will be appreciated.

If it's stuck in Samsung logo just leave it longer, the first boot can take quite a while
Thanks callumbr1!
It was almost an hour and it didn't passed the logo (I tried two stock roms through ODIN). I solved it by flashing twrp wiping system and a rom through a zip file.
