Hi guys, my mothers SGS3 is stuck on bootloop (well just freezes on samsung logo), it was on stock firmware when the problem first occured, i've tried flashing cwm via odin, wiping absolutely everything and then reflashing stock firmware, but problem persisted, i've tried rooting, flashing cwm, and then installing cyanogenmod to no avail.
does anybody have any other ideas that i could try.
Thanks in advance guys.

You flashed stock firmware with Odin, was the flash successful ?
If you need to use recovery, flash TWRP or Philz, CWM is not updated anymore
Try flashing one of the firmwares in this thread.
yeah as far as odin was concerned the flash was successful and set the phone to reboot, but it still just hung at the samsung logo, and right ok im a bit out dated using cwm then it's been a while :Lthanks for the links i'll give it another crack now
thanks again

i've tried flashing CM and MIUI using the two recoveries you linked, still no joy. The download links for the firmware doesn't work but i found an equivalent that also has bootloader, csc files etc and still no joy, odin does it's business and says in green pass at the end of it all but it still hangs on the samsung logo, even when i installed miui, it would install all as planned, but then on the reboot it just hangs at the MIUI logo.
i'm lost completely i've never been defeated by a phone :L

Hi there.
I had a custom rom on my Galaxy S3, and I wanted to go back to stock rom. Before I had a custom rom, I checked my product code, just in case if I ever wanted to flash stock rom. So, I downloaded a stock rom from sammobile and flashed it with Odin. I had a successful flash, but when the phone rebooted, it stopped at the samsung logo and it's like that every time I turn on the phone.
I aslo tried to flash it with the same rom, but from a different site (androidfirmwares), but every time I treid to do that, Odin crashed ( Odin downloader has stopped working).
I can't even boot into CWR to flash any custom rom, cuz it's gone. There is only stock recovery.
Please help
Which Rom were you trying to flash when this happened, and give details of how you flashed please

if you are getting stuck on the boot screen after you flashed the stock rom this always works..go to recovery do a data reset and wipe cache.
this is really weird and a stupid thing I did when I was completely new to android..a little over a month ago.I got stuck on the boot screen and accidentally flash CF-Root instead of the stock firmware..when the phone rebooted it worked just fine.I dont think its supposed to work that way..:S

I did as you said and it works
Thank you :good:
Ok, because I was so happy with cyanogenmod on my galaxy s I decided to try to install it on my SII.
Silly me, I decided to follow the instructions. couldn't get my trusty odin working, even after a couple of reboots and reinstalls of kies. Heimdall turned out to be the 64 bit version so I needed to find the 32 bit version. Long story short, the instructions sucked...
Then, I tried to install the suggested cwm. After a reboot, my phone entered a bootloop. I could enter recovery but trying to flash cm10 gave me "Status 7 blabla".
So, I searched on the web for a stock rom to at least get my s2 working again, found one and flashed it. Market keeps on crashing and it's version 4.0.3.
I tried reflashing cwm, cf-root and time and time again it kept creating a bootloop after which I had to reflash the rom with the broken market to get everything working again.
My questions are:
where did I go wrong in flashing cwm? Is there a different version I should flash? what's up with the extremely bad cyanogenmod instructions? Can someone get the market working again?
can someone guide me step by step through the process?
Why don't you flash it via recovery?

because it gives the error "status 7"
I can't install a cwm that doesn't bootloop (I can however enter recovery) and in recovery I can't flash a thing because it throws errors at me
Assuming that you are on stock samsung ICS ROM, flash Siyah kernel from Odin
http://d-h.st/Bcf
After this you will get CWM recovery from which you can flash any i9100 CM version.

quick follow-up:
I had another laptop laying around that was never poisoned by samsung kies, so I decided to give it a try. installed the usb-drivers and used odin to flash another stock-rom version (that actually worked this time )
Then, I flashed cf-root and upgraded to cyanogenmod without any problem.
So my G925F got bricked recently by updating the phone to 5.1.1 UK BTU firmware (G925FXXU2BOFJ) and the phone would not boot up. It was stuck on the boot logo. I did hours of research and finally managed to get it working by flashing Unibase Kernel.
Now the problem I am facing is that I want the phone back to 100% stock. Even unrooting the phone won't work because Unibase will reinstall SuperUser during restart. If I reinstall 5.1.1 using Odin it will hang on boot logo until I flash it with a custom Kernel, in my case Unibase did the trick.
Ive also flashed the phone using Samsung SmartSwitch with original firmware it still fails to boot until its flashed thereafter with a custom Kernel (UniBase)
Ive also tried the solution of removing hidden.img from firmware then repacking and flashing it, still seems to be the same problem (hanging on boot logo) Ive also tried to hard reset phone after flashing and yet its still faces the same problem. Is there a stock Kernel or any other solution anyone may know?
All help is appreciated and I will be happy to try any solution or method posted. Cheers
flash stock firmware with odin but uncheck auto-reboot. Once its done boot into recovery, clear cache, factory reset and it should boot
Please check and try this

Mine didn't boot and KNOX was touched and after i flashed a stock ROM via ODIN it was all ok. I used but a ROM from https://www.samdownloads.de/firmwares/alle-firmwares/#

Thanks guys, Ive tried both of your solutions, unfortunately the problem still exists. The phone will hang on
"Powered by Android" boot logo until I flash it with a custom Kernel. Weird problem
Ive checked, its definitely the boot.img causing the problem. Unibase flashes modified boot.img which turns the phone on

Out of interest, why do you need to return it to 100% stock?
Hey guys,
I have a problem with my Galaxy S III I9300. I have been using a CM 13 rom for some months now, which has worked perfectly fine untli yeserday.
My Phone crashed randomly, which happens sometimes, but after this crash it was stuck in bootloop. I tried to reboot, no result.
After restoring a backup it worked for some time until it suddenly crashed and stucked in bootloop again. Same with factory reset.
I have even flashed a new rom ArchiDroid , via CWM, with the same result.
I hope you guys can help me out with this problem.
Thank you in advance,
GeneralD
Have you tried flashing the latest stock ROM with Odin, performing a factory reset from stock recovery, and then using the phone for a while to verify functionality?

Definitely. Flash to stock should be the first thing you do if your phone goes into bootloop.
OK, I flashed the stock rom & recovery and did a factory reset. Until now everything is working fine, except the "Not registered on network" Error, which I have now
Any solution?
Does the phone show the correct imei? Have you tried manually searching and connecting to a network?

If all you did was flash a stock rom you should be ok to do what you like to it.
Hi,
I have the 925f. I was in a custom rom but had some issues in my phone (7.0 A8 port), so I decided to flash back to stock through ODIN. After flashing G925FXXU5ERA4 it was stuck almost 30 min in samsung logo. Then I went back to DL mode and tried again with the same result. I also tried flashing G925FXXU5EQFC but again it was stuck. I did this several times.
Am I lacking something? Any help will be appreciated.

If it's stuck in Samsung logo just leave it longer, the first boot can take quite a while
Thanks callumbr1!
It was almost an hour and it didn't passed the logo (I tried two stock roms through ODIN). I solved it by flashing twrp wiping system and a rom through a zip file.
