Hey guys,
I have a problem with my Galaxy S III I9300. I have been using a CM 13 rom for some months now, which has worked perfectly fine untli yeserday.
My Phone crashed randomly, which happens sometimes, but after this crash it was stuck in bootloop. I tried to reboot, no result.
After restoring a backup it worked for some time until it suddenly crashed and stucked in bootloop again. Same with factory reset.
I have even flashed a new rom ArchiDroid , via CWM, with the same result.
I hope you guys can help me out with this problem.
Thank you in advance,
GeneralD
Have you tried flashing the latest stock ROM with Odin, performing a factory reset from stock recovery, and then using the phone for a while to verify functionality?

Definitely. Flash to stock should be the first thing you do if your phone goes into bootloop.
OK, I flashed the stock rom & recovery and did a factory reset. Until now everything is working fine, except the "Not registered on network" Error, which I have now
Any solution?
Does the phone show the correct imei? Have you tried manually searching and connecting to a network?

I have an efs backup of a now destroyed s3.. can it be used for anything like reviving efs borked s3's?
Im sorry guys,
I flashed a old 4.1 stock rom, found the latest 4.3 rom now and the Error is gone
But wont I be able to flash custom roms from now on?

If all you did was flash a stock rom you should be ok to do what you like to it.

Hi Everyone! just a rookie here in need of a bit of advice.
I'm a Galaxy S II I9100 owner and have my phone rooted and all setup with custom roms and been comfortable with flashing for some time now. My ROM of choice recently was Vanilla Rootbox and have to say the ROM has been fantastic with very few bugs to report. Last night i recieved the OTA update via Goo Manager for Vanilla Rootbox 3.4. I downloaded the full update over wifi and flashed with all wipes no worries. Next step was to flash the latest GAPPS and i figured there would be nothing wrong with flashing the GAPPS zip i had on my sd card that i had downloaded the last time i was notified of a GAPPS update via Goo manager as well. After flashing, wiping everything and rebooting again. My phone then booted up to a series of dialog boxes indicating that many google processes had stopped functioning. apps.google.com etc etc. A similar error has been reported in the Vanilla Rootbox thread by another user but i wasnt able to report this bug their either because my post count is too low to post in a development forum. So after seeing this error i rebooted into recovery to flash my last backup but CWM recovery came back with an error messaging stating it couldnt mount either ext or int sdcard. i did a factory reset which made no difference to the problem whatsoever. I then downloaded ODIN and the latest stock ICS Rom and flashed it via ODIN with no reported errors. My phone now boots through the optus boot animation and is stuck at the Galaxy S 2 screen with the flashing red and yellow animation over the S. If i turn off the phone with the power button, the phone turns off and immediately starts again and gets stuck at the flashing s screen. I've taken the battery sim and ext sd card out and put it all back in only for the problem to persist.
If anyone could help me there's a donation and my thanks in it!
Much appreciated
Nick
tried to re flash another stock ROM?
If so, tried factory reset the phone after the flash?
As long as you can get to DL mode, you are good to keep on flashing till you are up & running.
And then you got this
Remember to update your kies and make sure you close it all up before flashing with odin. If you are in 4.0.4 beware of the brick bug.

Kies has never been installed on this computer but i did use the usb drivers mentioned in the soft brick recovery guide you linked. I used some information from the guide to flash this stock rom but i couldnt flash or wipe the partition because im unsure where to get the .PIT file required? i cant get past the boot animation so no factory reset possible and yes i can still get into download mode!

wow wow, leave pit files alone for now, they are nasty.
What stock ROM did you flash? 4.0.4 or 4.0.3?
You can factory reset via recovery mode.
Try installing kies anyway, it can't never hurt. Just make sure all applications are closed before you re-flash.
here's jb leak, might help:

Right so i flashed I9100XWLP8 stock rom (4.0.3). Just then i flashed Siyah Kernel and attempted to use the factory reset function in recovery there, i get a message down the bottom mentioning that it can't mount my internal SD.

try flashing jb leak (ROM, modem & kernel package).
So I've got this issue I never had before.
It started happening after I screwed something up with the EFS I think.
I was flashing some custom roms after the 4.3 official update and then tried to go back to 4.1 official.
Had the no network problem, but fixed it flashing the vodafone stock 4.3 official again.
Reading all the stuff about EFS confused me, and I deleted the EFS folder and copied an old backup (or so I think, because I'm not sure. I had a EFS backup on my sdcard and extsd I think).
I no longer have the no network issue, but everytime I flash a stock rom through Odin the phone gets stuck at the samsung logo, so I have to root the phone and install TWRP using Odin and then wipe. I know this way fixes this, but what I'm looking for is to fixed the problem completely so I don't have to install a custom recovery or root after using Odin to go back to official samsung rom.
Any ideas?
What should I do?
Maybe the phone gets stuck at the samsung logo because all of this EFS thing, but, like I said, I no longer have the no network issue.
All I want is for the phone to boot normally into the setup after flashing a samsung rom using Odin.
It just gets stuck every single time since I had this problem with the EFS, when before this never happened.
try to install the rom in recovery mode

I had this problem before (flash 4.1.2 in current 4.2.2 by odin), here's my solution.
Maybe you can install your ROM in recovery mode. (CWM based)
Remember to wipe completely before installing

I can flash custom roms through TWRP, but what I'm looking for is to be able to do so again through Odin without ending up stuck at boot always and having to wipe through TWRP to be able to boot properly.
Any ideas?
I'm sure there must be a fix so I don't get stuck at the boot screen after flashing a samsung rom with Odin.
I know the trick wipe factory reset but what I really want is to simply avoid getting stuck at the boot screen after flashing a samsung rom with Odin.

Thanks.
I'm just trying to find out why my SGS3 now gets stuck at boot when before it never happened.
I'm hoping there's a way to fix it and go back to before, when it never got stuck at boot. There should be a way I guess.
Hi guys, my mothers SGS3 is stuck on bootloop (well just freezes on samsung logo), it was on stock firmware when the problem first occured, i've tried flashing cwm via odin, wiping absolutely everything and then reflashing stock firmware, but problem persisted, i've tried rooting, flashing cwm, and then installing cyanogenmod to no avail.
does anybody have any other ideas that i could try.
Thanks in advance guys.

You flashed stock firmware with Odin, was the flash successful ?
If you need to use recovery, flash TWRP or Philz, CWM is not updated anymore
Try flashing one of the firmwares in this thread.
yeah as far as odin was concerned the flash was successful and set the phone to reboot, but it still just hung at the samsung logo, and right ok im a bit out dated using cwm then it's been a while :Lthanks for the links i'll give it another crack now
thanks again

i've tried flashing CM and MIUI using the two recoveries you linked, still no joy. The download links for the firmware doesn't work but i found an equivalent that also has bootloader, csc files etc and still no joy, odin does it's business and says in green pass at the end of it all but it still hangs on the samsung logo, even when i installed miui, it would install all as planned, but then on the reboot it just hangs at the MIUI logo.
i'm lost completely i've never been defeated by a phone :L
So my G925F got bricked recently by updating the phone to 5.1.1 UK BTU firmware (G925FXXU2BOFJ) and the phone would not boot up. It was stuck on the boot logo. I did hours of research and finally managed to get it working by flashing Unibase Kernel.
Now the problem I am facing is that I want the phone back to 100% stock. Even unrooting the phone won't work because Unibase will reinstall SuperUser during restart. If I reinstall 5.1.1 using Odin it will hang on boot logo until I flash it with a custom Kernel, in my case Unibase did the trick.
Ive also flashed the phone using Samsung SmartSwitch with original firmware it still fails to boot until its flashed thereafter with a custom Kernel (UniBase)
Ive also tried the solution of removing hidden.img from firmware then repacking and flashing it, still seems to be the same problem (hanging on boot logo) Ive also tried to hard reset phone after flashing and yet its still faces the same problem. Is there a stock Kernel or any other solution anyone may know?
All help is appreciated and I will be happy to try any solution or method posted. Cheers
flash stock firmware with odin but uncheck auto-reboot. Once its done boot into recovery, clear cache, factory reset and it should boot
Please check and try this

Mine didn't boot and KNOX was touched and after i flashed a stock ROM via ODIN it was all ok. I used but a ROM from https://www.samdownloads.de/firmwares/alle-firmwares/#

Thanks guys, Ive tried both of your solutions, unfortunately the problem still exists. The phone will hang on
"Powered by Android" boot logo until I flash it with a custom Kernel. Weird problem
Ive checked, its definitely the boot.img causing the problem. Unibase flashes modified boot.img which turns the phone on

Out of interest, why do you need to return it to 100% stock?
Hello all. After trying to get various Custom ROMs working, CM 11, 13 or Slimkat 9, unofficial 9.1, no version worked properly with phone signal.. I ended up experimenting with flashing modems or going back to stock firmware and doing all the steps from there but still couldn't make it work.
Stock firmware that came with the phone 4.1.2 (KIES_HOME_I9300XXEMG4_I9300OXAEMG4_1314436_REV00_user_low_ship) was perfectly fine also (I9300XXUGPE1_I9300AMNGPF1_I9300BVUGNB2_HOME) which it's 4.3 from orange spain was fine, tried one from my country and ran fine, also 4.3. Then I found out about this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/guide-emergency-calls-problem-siii-i9300-t2752541 and by mistake I flashed first the patched modem following this order of events :
4.1.2 STOCK > 4.3 Movistar STOCK > Slimkat Unofficial 9.1 latest > all fine but no signal. Then:
4.1.2 STOCK > 4.3 Movistar STOCK > Slimkat Unofficial 9.1 latest > flashed patched modem from thread above, boot loop.
Then tried to flash the original stock from the phone, didn't work. Stock from my country doesn't work. Stock from spain doesn't work but it goes a bit further in the first boot going to android updating apps , it finishes updating apps and goes into boot loop. That's it. At the moment I can flash with odin or go into downloading mode. When the phone is off, it can manage to charge the battery without problem.
How should i proceed now?
Thank you, I hope you can help or advice me.
EDIT 1: I also tried to flash the firmware from the above thread, the i9300 UK (BTU) but no luck.

Hey again audit13. It can flash the ROM fine but it gets stuck in boot loop. I'm trying to find the stock ROM with the 3 files but no luck yet, im hoping that can get to do a proper reset factory of everything.
Are you flashing the latest stock ROM from sammobile.com? This file would have everything in one file.

Country/Carrier
Spain (Orange)
Version

This one gets to passed the first time the loop till android updating apps dialogue, then goes to boot loop.
Are you performing a factory wipe using stock recovery before booting the flashed stock ROM for the first time?

Wiped, then did a reboot in the default recovery mode. All went to normal again. I still need to figure out how to get a Custom ROM without screwing up everything again.. Thanks for your quick support.
Glad you got it working. One thing I would not recommend is flashing a patched modem. The stock modem is the best modem in my opinion.
