Hi
I flashed my Galaxy S II with AOKP Milestone and Dorimanx V 5.92 and I am getting random reboots. I have never seen my phone reboot, but every once in a while I have to enter the pin to the SIM-card
From what I read Kernel and Rom should be stable, but what can I do? It never booted while in use, only when it was in my pocket.
Should I change Kernel? But which one? Dorimanx seams to be very strong for JB.
leo
Random reboots are 99% application related.
Have you installed any particular app lately?
Have you tried clearing cache, Dalvik cache and fix permissions?
I only re-installed two applications WhatsApp and WeatherPro from many that were running fine before.
On flashing I did clean dalvik an cache.
Fixing permissions? Where should I start?
"Fix Permissions" is an option in CWM. I think it's in the advanced section of CWM
You could also try SD Maid to clean up the phone, and CacheCleaner-NG to clean cache from all your apps, so you don't have to it one by one.
Also, did you have the random reboots before migrating to AOKP and Dorimanx?
You don't use the good kernel, you have to use the 7.8 version

Ok, I fixed permissions, cleaned with SD Maid, cleaned Cache with ChacheCleaner-NG
I had no reboot issues before moving to Dorimanx and AOKP.
Regarding Kernel Version: I used ICS + JB no Mali Kernel V 5.92
should I use the JB Mali Kernel?
If you use JB rom then you must use the 7.8 version which is the last one

ok, I will do change that
Thanks
The reboots have improved, however they have not disappeared completely.
I deinstalled all applications except WhatsApp to make sure that the reboots are not caused by any applications.
What I have noticed ist that my battery status indicates that the phone is charging even though that is not the case!
How can I solve this problem? I really like AOKP!
I never have this issue but have a look here :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1664893 maybe that can help you

I have just rooted and installed kaosfroyo v38 on my Droid Eris. I am using LauncherPro. I was having serious battery life issues until I installed the latest CFS kernel (v9). Since upgrading my kernel, battery is great but the app market is broken. When trying to download and install apps, I get a download unsuccessful error.
I've read and read this and other forums for a fix and can't seem to find any that work. I did find some answers, but they didn't work. I cleared data and cache. I did a dalvik wipe. Did the market fix. Nothing works.
Strangely enough, I can install Verizon apps from the market, no problem. Also, some apps can install fine, like Best Buy. Specifically, I am trying to install "The Best Card Game Ever - Yaniv".
This is my first post, thanks for understanding my noobishness.
After you ran market fix did you reboot into recovery and wipe dalvik? Did you clear cache in app permissions?

Thanks. Problem solved. I flashed CFS v6 kernel...that fixed the market problem
I know you already solved this, but that reminded me, when you upgraded to CFS v9, did you wipe Dalvik? You should wipe Dalvik when you change kernels, too, I believe.
I think the problem is that you need to run a few lines of code in cfs v8 & v9 to use apps 2 sd, and some apps auto install to sd. Either running these lines (on the front page of conap's thread) or flashing cfs6 will fix it.
Hope this helps!
Tested v6.01 CM firmware for X10 Mini Pro. Here my summary:
Much more stable than v5. But there is still random reboot once in a while. Once a day. On v5, random reboot was like four times a day or more...
Performance is also much better. Faster and more responsive, less lag.
Can't run Opera Mobile Browser, still crashes on start up.
Dialler buttons 1,2 & 3 is partially blocked by display.
Good job to developer(s) and hope for more to come!

Just installed and tried it. I noticed the icons for programs stored on sdcard are missing every time after reboot. I had to kill "Home Screen" process and reload it again for them to reappear. Anyone having same problem?
I suspect the Home Screen process does not wait for the sd to load and failed to refresh the icons accordingly...
Is super user 3.0 not responsive? mine is sometime trouble and laggy, force close SU and/or wipe data needed, to make it work again, how about you? and how to make it works flawlesly?
Same issue. I uninstalled the update because it was too temperamental. Now works fine again. I think its because of my custom kernel.

works fine with me....stock kernel with Nocturnal rom
i dont remember with rom i tried but at least 3 roms have this problem
I have same problem but fixed when i cleared the logs and then clear the data from application>manage application>su select clear data.
I did updated the App from the market, and after that, i did the update inside the SuperUser APP.
No problems found until now.
Hello Guys,
First of all, this is my first post here and also this is my first time flashing a custom ROM in my phone.
I would like to ask for advice regarding my current situation.
I came from stock ICS 4.0.4 and flashed android revolution hd 17.1 through CWM recovery. Everything went smooth in the beginning but later on, I noticed that there is lag during home screen panning.
Here is how to create the said lag.
1. In the home screen, you should have an app inside a folder. Open the folder, open an application. preferably not a very lightweight application.
2. After launching the application, exit using the back key.
3. Immediately, pan the home screen left or right.
4. You should notice a slight lag which is not present when panning the home screens that does not come from exiting an application.
So i thought this could probably a problem with some cpu and memory management.
Anyone have the same experience with me. I use the default touchwiz launcher btw.
And also I tried re-flashing the rom and selecting the perseus kernel included but the problem still exists.
If you have any suggestions how I can remove the said lag, please do so. I like the speed of the ROM and the smooth animations but the consistent lag that I am experiencing is just more noticeable because everything else is smooth.
Thanks in advance.
I don't experience this... :3 Same ROM.

No lag for me. Did you do a full wipe before flashing ARHD?

I am not really sure if I did a full wipe.
But I wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, used the wipe that is provided with the AROMA installer.
The internal sd card remained intact.
Try wiping in CWM data and caches en then reinstall the ROM.
I get the same thing using Perseus kernel. I like the options it gives but the lag really bothers me. Using cleanrom 4.5.
Been running the TASK 650 ROM for a little while now, currently on ver 6.24.
If I update the Trickster MOD, when trying to run System Settings -> Kernel Settings, I get an app not responding message. Anyone having this issue and any way to correct it?
If I run the app from the app list it seems fine; just not from Kernel settings.
I cleared cache and dalvik cache, nothing corrected the issue.
Thx!
I can't be the only person with this issue
You're probably one of the few left running Tasks' rom, so yes, you're likely the only one with this problem.
The kernel that was included in his rom was a modded version of the CM kernel of the time. It's old and I'm sure Tasker has been updated since then. Try changing kernels and see if you still have the problem. Sometimes you have to do your own investigating, especially when you're running an abandoned rom.
