[Q] Springboard system sounds: Where? - Huawei MediaPad, T-Mobile SpringBoard

I'd like to replace the start-up chime sound on my Springboard with something a little more earthy (the default T-mobile chime Just Doesn't Cut It). With that in mind, where are the system sounds contained in the file system?
More specifically, which one is that silly T-Mobile chime?
Yes, I'm rooted.
Thanks much.

Lost my english girl

So i have been trying a couple of different ROMs and i had at one time an english girl that would tell me I had mail. Does anyone know where she is? It should be either Hypercore or vp3G's latest. I like vp's better as it seems better suited for ATT but i do miss my girl telling me I have mail. Does anyone know where this clip is or where i can find ringers seperate from ROMs
google; att research labs
Guess you mean the sounds from the dopod rom
Sweet Thanks. I found i am supposed to do something with windows map to get them to work from notifications. What's the process to get them to show in the notification drop down?
drop them onto storage card or \windows\
Extract the files and copy them to the windows directory
Thanks guys. I am starting to think more and more i should expand my software developement knowledge and get into cookin ROMs. I want to get an expandable folder tree in the start menu and if nothing else i know i would use these apps more than the ones i'm creating now, although AJAX has given me some highlights in my current experience. Guess I would have to give up video games though as all i see myself doing is creating applications for my phone

[Q] Replace dialer on rooted phone

Hi, i'm using the Synergy ROM and love it. The only thing i don't like is the default screen that comes up when the phone rings (in this case it's a big VirusROM logo). I would like to change this to either the stock screen, or perhaps one from another ROM.
From what I can tell, I need to find the PHONE.APK file from the ROM I want and then add it to the phone. What I cannot find is instructions on how to successfully replace the file that is already on the phone. Based on some threads I've read, I assume a simple drag and drop won't work.
Or, maybe there is an easier way? I use GO Contacts as my dialer, the only thing i'm really looking to change is the large picture that shows up for any contact who does not have a pic associated (none of my contacts have pics, so it comes up for every call for me).
Any advice/suggestions appreciated. If I missed this information in an obvious place, I apologize.
Use Ninjamorph (on your phone) or apk tools on your computer to replace /system/app/Phone.apk/res/drawable-hdpi/picture_unknown.png with whatever you want.
Thanks! Is there a certain file size or resolution that the file needs to be?

Yes. If there's a theme that has an image already made for it that you would rather have, you can just replace with it since it would already be sized appropriately. Otherwise, there should be several themeing guides that walk you through how to extract the apk, create the replacement images, replace them, and recompress. Just look for some good themeing guides. I don't have any links handy but they shouldn't be difficult to find.
Got it, thanks so much for your quick and thorough assistance

[Q] [QUESTION]: REAL Custom Sounds in Android (Lite'ning)

Hi!
This is my first post, but I don't think it's a noob question I have.
I already installed some custom sounds on my Galaxy S2. I also managed to replace the original UI sounds with some custom ones (taken from Command & Conquer, the original, old one ).
However, after I replaced them, I realized that this standard method of simply replacing the sounds doesn'T really satisfy me for various reasons. The most important one is that I really like to customize the sounds to what the phone is actually doing. I was able to do that in iOS easily, because in iOS, everything hast it's own sound. In Android, this seems different.
To show you what I'm takling about, I give you an example: If the phone is low on power a little window appears that informs you, which is accompanied with a sound. I wanted to change that to EVA (from C&C) saying "low power", so I replaced the original sound with an ogg file. So far, so good. The problem is, that the same sound is played after the phone is charged to max in order to indicate that the battery is full. So always when I charge the phone and the battery is full, now I get my custom sound saying "low power" ... PROBLEM! That's just dumb Several other sounds in Android are used in a similar way: one sound for different things.
So my question is: Can I tell Android to use other sounds? I mean there has to be a file that tells Android which sound to use for different events, right? The question would be which file this is. And moreover: Can I edit it?
Oh come on Here are so many pros around in the forum. Don'T tell me that you don't know anything about this topic.

[Q] Standard tones for keypress on phone dialing

I know it may be petty but I hate the sounds played while dialing a phone number and while your on the phone and need to press a button, the sounds are hideous. Does anybody know a way to get the standard phone key button tone sound applied? Thanks in advance!
After doing some research, it appears that you may have to replace some system sound files to do it..which means you'll have to be rooted. At least that's the solution in the international forums.
Otherwise, you may be better off just silencing the keypress sounds.

[Q] Lost sound pack, does anyone know which one I had :)

I accidentally dropped my HOX in the ocean :-/... I used a ringtone Open Ocean on my HTC which I want to use again on my new phone. If I recall correctly I downloaded some HTC notifications and ringtones pack here which contained that particular ringtone.
Been searching the forum but can't find the sound pack. Does anyone know which soundpack I am taking about maybe?
Thanks
