Is there an audio output signal on the micro USB connector ? I want to use my Belkin Tunecast on the Galaxy S3 if possible
Hi,
I think it's possible but a don't know how it works.
MHL cable exists for HDMI connection with the micro-USB socket. HDMI provides audio and video output.

Does the galaxy s2 does SD video out like the previous galaxy s or other phones like n95 and so on using that 3.5mm jack wire which splits into 3 wires. I guess that it is called composite out.
Does that work?
Anybody tried?
Thanks in advance.
I read that it does NOT output video from the 3.5" headphone socket, like the S1 does , but it does output video from the micro usb, but you will need an hdmi adaptor.

Tinderbox (UK). I think you kind of double-posted there mate.
But yes, he's right, the normal TV out cable will not work at all, but you can buy what's called an MHL cable, so you can hook your phone up to your telly (well, as long as you have an HDMI compatible TV or screen).
can i use RCA (3.5mm) to TV-Out work with our lovely i9100
you know that one we used to have with the galaxy s i9000
There is no TV out from the i9100 headphone socket, it has a special micro usb , that can take a adaptor to give hdmi output.
EDIT : see link below.

Hi guys,
I ve got a HDMI adaptor and cable for my S2 and it is working fine on the TV with HDMI, just wondering if I can connect S2 to the telly without HDMI socket?
There is no cable for that. Or use an HDMI cable with a DVI converter on top of it?
Google for HDMI to composite. There's loads of cheap leads to do this.

I am also trying to find how to cheaply connect S2 to a crt tv with either scart or composite RCA - does't look possible without high cost below taken from a web site but not allowed to post link as I'm a new user!:
HDMI To Composite Cable is sought by many people nowadays. People who have old technology equipments try to connect them with brand new HDMI-ready devices. Most old devices are using either composite cable, analog cable, or S-Video cable.
HDMI To Composite CableSome people think that they are able to convert the digital signal from HDMI end to several analog signals in the other end. The truth is, while you clearly can connect wire-to-wire, which simply won’t work. There is no possible solution to convert digital to analog signal without using a converter box. When you see HDMI To Composite Cable sellers claim to be able to convert the digital to analog signal directly without a converter box, they mostly scam and don’t work.
So, is it possible to convert the digital signal to analog signal? The answer is yes, but you can’t use a simple HDMI To Composite Cable. You need a converter box. It will do the conversion from digital to analog without a breeze. You may find them on the market labeled as HDMI To Composite Converter, HDMI To S-Video Converter, HDMI To 3 RCA Converter, HDMI To 5 RCA Converter, HDMI To Composite 3 RCA / S-Video Converter Adapter, but simply not as HDMI To Composite Cable only.
hdmi uses digital signal, so you can use a DVI adaptor but that's it.. (or digital component but that's ultra rare)
to use analogue (scart, composite, component, s-video) you'll need a digital-to-analogue converter box and they cost around £30 from ebay.. you're better off putting that money towards a new LCD with hdmi
Does anyone know if the Samsung Galaxy S II will use a 3.5mm to RCA TV out cable like you could on the original Galaxy S?

Hope it help
ok probably doesn't then, thanks
The SGS2 is one of the first devices to implement the MHL standard. Basically, it repurposes the microUSB connector to provide digital HD video/audio output. This output is translated to HDMI through an external adapter, allowing you to view the SGS2's output on currently available TVs.
With the recently available MHL-to-HDMI adapter, you plug a charger into the adapter (the adapter pulls a little power from the charger, sending the rest to the SGS2), the adapter into the SGS2, and run a HDMI cable from the adapter to an external display (HDTV, monitor, etc.).
trying to connect my galaxy s3 display to my kenwood stereo wich accepts the three rca inputs into a display.
I have tried aux to rca cord and it did not work.
I am going to try a mhl adapter wich plugs into my S3;s microusb slot into female hdmi input.
my question is , from there can I get a male hdmi end to rca cable to make it work? or do I need a more expencive "converter adapter switchbox"
