Hey everyone.
So I downgraded by HBOOT and flashed CM7. But now I can't send any text messages longer than 160 characters and my service is absolutely terrible.
Any ideas on what I can do? Help would be greatly appreciated.
Go into messager settings and see if you have message splitting enabled.

Flash back to a Sense rom, flash the latest radios, then update Profile and PRL. Then flash back to whatever rom you want.
Thanks. I've tried finding the latest radios but all the links seem to be broken? Can someone link/send me a pm to a working radio please?

Do this, and also do a hands free activation as well. It will update/re-register you with Sprint.
Search for 2.17.651.5 firmware, freeza has a post that has the "all in one" firmware that won't mess with hboot or S-OFF.
Sorry for the noob question but i wanted to know if i wanted to update my prl and profile do I need to return to stock sense and unroot or can i just flash a sense rom. I am S-ON Running 10-29 CM10
Just flash a sense rom. Viper 4g rom is what I use and works. Anything based on stock sense should work. No need to unroot or return to stock.

Okay I just tried that and i get a error when i try to update either prl or profile. I'll try another rom just in case.
What rom did you try? I'm sure Viper4g works, but any rom based on stock sense should also work. Not sure what went wrong. Not sure it matters but what Hboot are you on? 1.15 or 1.19?

I was upgrading at a sprint store today and they said they are having issues with activating new lines, PRL and Profile updating are included in the problem and they said all I can do is wait until it is fixed by them.

I am on H-Boot 1.19 but that shouldn't be a problem I ended up relocking and used the RUU after that I updated both my PRL and Profile.

Thank you every one for the help with my question you guys rock!
Howdy, so I am already S-off'd and rooted running an ICS rom on my VM Evo V 4g. As of now MMS is iffy and 4G does not work to my knowledge. I've been out of the loop for a few months and was wondering what I need to do to catch up on the custom advancements.
I think I need to:
Flash a new radio firmware?
Fix MMS?
Fix 4G?
Can anyone give me a lowdown on what I should get caught up with in regards to those 3 topics? What do I need to do to have absolutely everything working correctly on a custom rom?

You can try flashing to stock rooted to fix mms and 4g wimax but on aosp roms and custom roms, 4g doesn't work!
I was wondering, if I could flash this phone to Cricket and keep flashing ROMs? Currently running CT's Sense 5. Thanks.

yes you can. I have had my evo lte for 2 years on cricket and I flash roms all the time. just keep in mind if you do flash a diff rom, you may have have to fix the apn again to get mms since sometimes it reverts back to sprint settings.
Alright, thank you.
For the past two-three weeks, possibly longer, I noticed that I no longer have mobile data unless reboot my phone while not connected to Wi-Fi. It seems the phones doesn't want to find data after leaving Wi-Fi ranges. I've tried different ROMs and tried out new Kernels -- Nothing seems to correct this. I'm wanting to to try and update my RUU since I saw that someone was able to correct this issue by doing it.
I'm running HBoot 1.9 and 3.16
I've read up on Rum Rummer and ViperRUU -- and still unsure which I should use and really, how to. I'm just wanting to update the phone and radios and then re-flash a ROM to see if the issue resolved.
Any help will be greatful. If there's a how-to listed anywhere, sorry. but if you could lmgty, it would be greatly appreciated.

You didn't mention anything about what firmware version you're on, what ROM (or ROM's) you've tried. This could be very useful in helping track down your issue.
Typically, RUU isn't necessary unless you booger up a partition, or want to get your phone back to a relatively stock state. It stands for ROM Upgrade Utility or Repair Upgrade Utility.
Rumrunner is for gaining S-off with the newest OTA update. Not the same as VipeRUU.

Still need to know your firmware version. Go to Menu>Settings>About Phone>Software Info>More and list your baseband (firmware) version. As far as data issues, some AOSP ROM's are known for them (mostly older builds). The newer AOSP ROM's seem to have the issue more or less fixed. Do you have data issues with Sense ROM's or AOSP ROM's, or both?

Baseband version is 1.12.11.0809
I just flashed Viper to test with Sense based ROM, but still the same. If I walk out the house/work, it won't regain mobile data until I reboot or reconnect to wi-fi.
You have a rom suggestion I should try? I'll give a shot.

Could be an issue with the Sprint connections optimizer (which I don't use). You're a couple of firmware versions behind, also. If you're not S-off, I recommend you do so and update your firmware to the latest version. You can use Facepalm to get S-off in less than five minutes time. Are you by chance using a custom kernel with Viper? I've run Viper before and never encountered data issues. Do you only have data issues in and around your house, or do you have data issues in general?

Yeah, I'm S-Off currently. I'll have look into updating firmware, searching now. As far as the data issue. It's everywhere. The only fix I've noticed is either turn off wi-fi completely or reboot after I've lost wi-fi signal. For example, right now I'm connected to my home wi-fi, if I leave the house, it won't use cell data unless I reboot. But also, if I disable wireless and reboot while in my house, I'll get cell data. It seems it never kicks off to cell data when wi-fi lost.

Strange
I'd definitely look into updating your firmware. If the issue persists afterwards, you may need to use VipeRUU to go back completely stock, and if the issue is still there, you most likely have a hardware problem and need to get your device replaced.

Just wanted to update in case someone else runs into this issue.
I updated the lastest firmware with the link in the previous post and flashed to Sense 5 ROM. It's now working as it should. Been running for a few days now. I haven't tried another non-sense rom yet.
I really appreciate all the help.
