Care to explain why? 'Cause both AppStore and Android Market contain their fair share of crap.
@ccdreadcc: True, although with the advent of HTML5 I'm not sure how long Flash support will continue to be an advantage of Android...
Android wins do to notifications the apps not games there more intgrated with the os an its changeable u can change everything an make ur phone look diffrent an i enjoy that no 2 phones look the same an iphone there identical but they do have better games an browser is better with pinching an zooming but my sgs is a little faster with apps closed but with stuff runing its laggy an ios is mostly smooth all the time but they dont have real multi tasking

You honestly can't go wrong with either and really depends on what you like. Honestly, I think why iPhone sales are so high is because people are misinformed about the product. Everyone gets it because they have been told to or think its cool since everyone has one, but at the end of the day both operating systems can do the same or maybe better(android).
I'd say both have their plus points. I've got my O1, which is my first android device. I love the ability to customise each and every part of it. We are all fans of this OS, we already know how great it is
But what I don't like about android, is the lack of quality content on the market, specially for low end devices like ours. I've got an iPhone 3GS too, and when you access the appstore on it, there's lots of great stuff out there.
Another downside is the lack of software optimisation. We got great hardware, with ****ty software: not a great combination. For e.g. my old iPod Touch 2nd gen still runs every damn single game I put on it without a drop of lagging, whereas we all know what happens on our O1. If we did not have such great developers here, we wouldn't be enjoying our O1 that much. :/
And before someone says something like, "you got a weak device, you should buy a SGS2 or whatever to feel the true power of android," I got one thing to say: each and every one of apple's products are optimised directly from manufacturers, their users dont need to depend on external developers. We can't say that much about our devices though.
Well my experience with iOS comes from an iPod Touch 3rd Gen that I've owned for 1.5 years, and my experience with Android comes from my O1 that I've owned for 2 weeks.
As others have mentioned I love my O1 and I think that Android as an "OS" it's definitely great, and I believe that if we were to compare iOS Vs. ANDROID only at the "OS" level, the Android OS it's superior essentially because it's a powerful, open source OS that allows you to go under the hood and tweak it or improve it, whereas with iOS is just a black box that you access only through APIs published by the manufacturer.
The thing is that comparing OS to OS does not makes much sense to the end user since what's more important is comparing "The Experience" of owning and using a phone with iOS Vs a phone with ANDROID, and at that level I think that iOS/iPhone definitely provides a much solid, cohesive and overall better experience to the end user (at least from my point of view):
1-) On iOS the OS and the Hardware are "One", since we have one company that manufactures the hardware and builds and optimize the OS to run only on that hardware, providing a longer life cycle for your product since the strategy of the manufacturer (Apple) is not focused on launching a new model every 3-4 months (as it is with Android phone manufacturers). Apple's focus is actually selling as much of the same model as they can over a period of at least one year.
2-) The Appstore even though is much more restrictive (than the Market) provides a much more controlled and predictable experience for App Developers, because they only have to worry about complying with the guidelines established by their development platform, and not with developing an App that will have to run as good as possible on hardware created by 8 or 10 different manufactures who have 100+ different phone models. Volume becomes an issue and so far developers have more success selling a 99 cents app on the Appstore than selling a $5 app on the Market. Take a look at this post from a renowned Game Developer talking about his experience about porting a hit game on the Appstore to the Android Market
Bottom line is that it all comes down to the Apps more than the hardware itself (we know that phones like the Samsung Galaxy S2 beats the crap out of an iPhone 4 and basically anything else), but all that powerful hardware, dual core processors and beefy GPUs can't do much if quality Apps are not there to take advantage of it, and so far Apple has done a better job in creating a suitable environment for developers at all levels: Programming, Marketing, Billing and Post-Sales Support.
When it comes to consumers (us) I definetely prefer the android cause i'm not willing to pay a sh1tload of money to buy a marketing bloat product which targets to rip off the ignorant gudget fashion victums. I want to be able to have a smartphone for 200 euros and to be able to customize it and use it the way I want and not the way they want.
And I don't want to hear a thing about better games etc etc cause if I want games i'll go and buy a psp and the total amount of money for low/mid-end android + psp will still be conciderably lower than an apple icrap
I will write my opinion, but everybody has an unique opinion so it may not matter.
As stated above, iOs and the hardware of the iPhone are one, they are designed and built as an entity. The result is the most powerful phone. Apart from the antenna problem the iphone had, the phone is perfect. And it will still be. The single-core iPhone 4 runs as smooth as dual-core android phones. Because android phones took everything that was good in linux, but also what is bad.
Android is for the guys that like customization, playing with their devices. You will never have to jailbreak an iPhone, as it's os is godlike anyway. The nasty part is that most of appstore games cost $ and some people may not be so willing to pay for every app they have.
Apart from the price, ioS is better than android, and i consider that anyone who disagrees is just sad he can't afford an iphone. That doesn't mean android is not good, because it is excellent, but still not quite at the apple's product level. Peace
Well I have also tried iOS, I own an iPod Touch 2G (MC, so it's the newer iteration). Sure, there are quality games by Gameloft & co. on the AppStore which also run alright on the iPod, but on 4.2 it gets really slow if you have any other tweaks on it, or if you activated multitasking and wallpapers.
What would definitely improve the Android experience is Gameloft getting their head out of their @ss and port their great games to lower-end devices as well. I really can't see what's the problem with minimum requirements for CPU and RAM if they really think 320x480 games would confuse customers, due to it being the most popular Android low-end resolution.
Other than that, Android is better than iOS simply because it allows you to do more stuff without hacks. First and foremost, the ability to use the phone as a mass storage device (Google should allow mass storage without additional drivers, it would be useful in certain situations, such as at school, where computers are usually blocked from installing drivers ).
@vador9: Sorry mate, but you're just as much of a d*ck as the other Apple fans. I can afford an iPhone, but that doesn't mean I WANT to spend that much money. Partly because the only reason for that price is the glass in it.

You can actually do Mass Storage without the drivers.
And please, do not insult any other forum members. Whatever his opinion may be, its his, it should be respected. Its only a sharing of opinion, not a war.
Android has a great user interface, its highly customisable, it offers whatever someone may want. It's just that rare are the devices which really makes android look so good.
To explain this, I'll take the example of our fabulous O1. Forget about the pricing, let's just analyse the phone in itself: a nice phone, with great features, and a wonderful OS. The OS can do pretty much everything. Now where is the problem? LG, LG is the problem. I agree we paid for a low end phone, but that doesnt mean it should contain ****ty bugs, like the screen lag for example. Even with gingerbread out, it still has not been solved.
Its often the device which holds many a problems, not the OS. This is where iOS has an advantage, it's been used only on a couple of devices, and both the devices and the OS are manufactured by the same company. This causes a great optimisation. For example again, on any iOS device you may not be able to send a file via bluetooth properly (limited by the OS), but you have a smooth touchscreen with no lag at all and you almost never have an error popping up now and then (from the manufacturer).
Moreover, when we say "Appstore offers a larger range of quality apps than that of Android Market", its not just about games. Often basic apps are of much lower quality on the Market, e.g. compare the Facebook app on both platform, and you'll see that the Android version is weak.
Overall:
Android wins when it comes to customisation and performance (provided you have a good device), and iOS has an upper hand when it comes to best user experience and high quality apps
( ) iPhone
( ) iPad
( ) iPad 2
( ) iPod Touch
(✔) iDon't have money
(Certainly not for overpriced hype from a vendor whose customer attitude is way worse than Microsoft's )

You can? Please enlighten me, I thought it really needed the LG Android drivers for that.
Also, he insulted us first, by implying we all are too poor to get iPhones and that's why we're jealous and say iOS is worse.
I saw this on pulse in an android section. I thought it was ridiculous. shows how ignorant isheep are. I guess $500 for a tablet plus 150 for a dock is cheap. Also there are android phones that cost way more than the iphone.

I saw those articles. lmfao just goes to show how childish alot of IOS users are. they are hating the fact that Android has Instagram now. Android flood of instagram users will overtake apple users in a short period of time. Android has way larger user base. I got it on my Atrix. haven't really tried it out yet. seems like a bunch of b.s. really. so i want to see what the hype is over. I hope its not just some dumb filters as I've had those and more alot longer on android in general. seems like some kind of picture sharing thing mostly between users. overrated IMO.
also funny is how the most popular iPhone model is the free 3gs iPhone offered by at&t. lol. how can we be poor if they using a free phone..lol

I'll not get too worried due to this. Only hipsters use Instagram and think they are "real" photographers. Yeah right.
In fact, no self respecting Android user will and should use Instagram. Camera360 beats it any day, anyway. Instagram is for spoiled brats and hipsters who think android owners live in a ghetto and live on food stamps.

This is horrible. What pisses me off the most about Apple is that they outsource their manufacturing and claim that it is to keep the cost of their product down, yet I believe they have the highest priced devices. Secondly they create a standard for the outrageously priced devices when they could EASILY shave 30 to 40 percent of the price on ALL of their mobile products if not ALL of them products. And, what's the worst part of all is that the mobile market is exponentially growing, meaning the two grand you dropped on your current phone/tablet setup will be obsolete in 3 to 6 months. Rather than really fine tune a product, they continually shell out new devices with "better" specs. Kinda ridiculous the way they produce products, even Android is guilty of this. It's bad for the consumer, but great for the companies. I mean why create a solid product that stays current for at least a year when you can make devices obsolete after three months which in turn will guarantee that at least a greater percentage of consumers will repurchase the newest devices at a quicker pace. Whatever happened to companies providing what is best for the consumer and not what makes the most amount of money in the shorted amount of time!
Oh well, it is what it is. Before you know it there will be an entirely new type of gadget out that replaces the smart phone/tablet all together and then the cycle repeats but with higher prices and shorter device life spans. Actually, to be honest, I am suprised that we aren't forced into purchasing firmware upgrades... Hmm, maybe I shouldn't of said that, I could totally see a CEO reading this post and going ZOMG GREAT IDEA $50 to update your device!
In any event, kudos to Cult of Mac for reporting on this, given that they're describing a large part of their own audience.

But I do have to say that when people buy an iPhone, they don't just buy a phone. They buy into a highly proprietary culture that promotes thoughtless spending.
Android? Well just comparing how easy it is to get refunds for purchases on Play vs App Store should give us all a good idea.

LOL! That is funny!
Social media really brings out the stupid in people. We used to think about something before sharing it with the world but now people share it with the world before thinking about it. It is because there always seems to be an audience (the internet) available. This is not the only case. (Incoming Hunger Games Spoiler) A while ago when the Grammys were on there was the whole "I would let Chris Brown beat me any day" tweets. Then when the Hunger Games movie came out there was the whole "I don't feel so bad about Rue anymore after finding out she was black".

lol all their rage right now.
What I get from this is Apple users blindly buy apps and hope they work for what they want it to do (As there is no refund). With Android I'm going to look for the free app if i'm looking for a specific function. If it does it well, then It might entice me to look into the paid version to see what extras you get if you pay for it. There are a lot of crap apps, and you kinda have to test them all to find the best one that works for you. It's annoying when there are no free apps on Apple to test what you want to do, and if the app you bought isn't what you thought it was or has problems, you can't refund. Sucks!
I really hate waking up, reading a thread and finding out Im poor.

Apple has kept a pretty consistent 1 year release schedule. Also why would you expect a company to lower their prices when they are selling their products as fast as they can? They arn't charities.
I know I don't have a lot of posts and you guys don't see me around a lot, but I'm on this forum for a couple hours each day and I just see a TON of Apple and iPhone hate. What I don't understand is why you hate them so much. A lot of you categorize ANY iPhone user as a sheep who doesn't know that there's any other phone out there.
I have an iPhone and I can guarantee you that I'm not a sheep. I chose my 4S because the specs are great and I love iOS. I also bought an Evo 3D on ebay because I like Sense also. I use my iPhone as my main phone because it fits me best, I love the apps, and I get updates the day that they are released (ICS was released back in October, thats 7 months ago and we still don't have it on our phones!!!!). Just because I prefer a different phone than you doesn't mean that I follow everyone else. It just means I have a different preference than you.
It annoys me that the majority of users on this forum think that Apple is evil and anyone who owns an iPhone is evil as well. Why can't you accept that people have different preferences on phones and that doesn't make them sheep or stupid fanboys?
I'll probably receive a lot of trolling because of this thread, but I just wanted to get this off my chest.
It really goes both ways; just as you have rabid Apple fans, you have crazy Android fans. There are a lot of really immature people here who don't seem to think before they post. Many of them seem to believe that just because they decided to be different that they are better than people who purchased Apple devices.
I don't really understand why people are so insecure with their choice that they feel the need to belittle others, but they do it. Even mentioning something that iOS has over Android will provoke twenty people saying that once they overclock their phone, tweak everything, and so on, they are able to get the same performance as iOS and that Apple users are homosexuals and etc.
It's like a group of people sitting at their computers waiting for someone to say "Apple" so that they can go on about their petty little vendettas against Apple. It's like a group of children who only want to pick on each other. It's disgusting. They're just hypocrites, and not worth anyone's time.
i completely understand you and i also dont understand why so much hate, but i think it is more between samsung and apple users XD i also like iphone, ios and sense but i dont like small screens, so thats reason why i never even thought about buying and iphone xD but if there will be iphone with bigger screen, ill consider about buying it, but ill keep my evo
I Personally don't like Apple or any of their products. Never owned one and never will, I'm proud to say so.
I will say they are very good at what they do. When the IPhone first came out, it was very impressive.
You are right, it is just a matter of preference. Most people on here like HTC phones. I'm sure if go on IPhone forums and start talking about HTC phones, they will hang you out to dry.
The name calling specifically sheep, has mostly been in jest
The recent hate is justified though. These lawsuits apple has been filing are for the most part frivolous because the wacked patent system in the US. The EVO 4G LTE was delayed because apple claimed it infringed on one of its patents. HTC found a workaround to avoid using the patent but even so one unit per shipment of phones has to be examined by US Customs thus delaying the phone some more.
Important to note that iPhone 5 is being held up or delayed to workaround 5 patents HTC owns.
Both companies have been suing each other. However one has been a royal douche. One of the companies says the other blatantly copied the former while in fact the former ripped off features from the latter in its last major OS update. If you haven't noticed, the former is Apple and the latter is HTC. It's appalling because Apple is making more money than ever and can't be happy with that.
For me, I say screw the patent system and let all the companies out innovate each other, that way the consumer wins.

i refer to the sheep as those who buy it for posing around with....then when they see another phone they start moaning that the iphone can't do this and that and the other. And the fact that people complain about the monthly prices after buying them and signing the extortionate contract.
Also i don't like the fact that how some iphone users seem to belittle others by very slyly implying their phone's better by doing this that and what have you, and if you argue...it doesn't go down well with them.
Again this is only for the minority who own idevices but the minority is making their voices heard and the majority who buy and iphone and get on with their life suffer.
THAT WAS THE USERS.....NOW THE ACTUAL PHONE
I like what they've done, its pretty much bought that section of the market along with the rest of the competition to the mainstream. the phone specs right now are good...the original bunch of iphones not having 3g and multi-tasking? wtf to that decision....but anyways they learnt. I myself am thinking about getting an ipad 2 soon (depends on a few things....not $) because it is way ahead of anything for now.
the lawsuits don't help, i dont care whether its for stopping products or the conspiracy of giving them publicity. they need to stop because its a bad PR for anyone, including the consumer.

Some people are better suited for an ios device.
Being called a sheep isn't technically inaccurate as a majority of ios users don't believe in much else besides the device they have.
I don't agree with fanboyism though, It's annoying and immature, but it'll always continue.

Apple are marketing geniuses. I don't get into the fanboy wars between either OS, but my problem with Apple is the way they lock down their OS & the choice of apps, or rather I say users have no free choice of apps cuz they only get what Apple feels is good for them. Now they have amazing hardware, but the cost for it isn't worth it IMO since they're paying way less for the parts & production of their products.

It's definitely worse between Apple and Samsung, but I still see stuff between HTC guys and Apple guys. I can kinda see the Samsung thing because they have actually taken ideas from Apple, but HTC?

This video pretty much sums up the attitude of a lot (not ALL) of Apple users. This is why I will never buy an Apple product. At first, yeah, the iPhone was cool. Now there are much better devices (technically speaking) that do much more, yet "Oh my God look mommy it's an iPhone!" is still heard everywhere as if it's some sort of magical device. I suppose my hatred for Apple products stems from irritation from ignorant consumers who simply get on my nerves.
The reason why there are people who have issues with Apple is simple: Apple has become an icon of Corporate World. Yes, corporations are evil and after Steve Jobs has resigned from Apple even more people have turned against Apple. By buying an iPhone you support the wealth-culture that thrives on social inequalities created and sustained by global corporations. There is nothing wrong about hate towards corporations and those who support them. It is only natural.
In fact Android (while being not so different from Apple in its core) still represents all those have-nots who deserve just as much as their wealthy counterparts.
As for homosexuals and iPhones, well...this is obvious: they have become the driving force of the trend-over-intelligence kind of tendency that have only added more crap to already TV-brainwashed minds of the general North American population. Another thing homosexuals should have never done was occupying the entire artistic and design-related industries and forcing all the talented straight folks out of the market to completely eradicate even the possibility of having a healthy competition that can damage their reputation as the only worthy artists on the planet.
Now the iPhone owners are called sheep because of that very trend-over-intelligence choice the majority of them have made when they chose to buy iPhone. Did you notice that all these crappy musicians and graphic artists turn to Apple computers not because of the fact that those are the most optimized for the industry tools, but simply because they are the most expensive ones? Just like the worst musicians always own the most expensive instruments that money can buy.

Strange, I am not noticing much hate for iPhone here.. Perhaps I am visiting non-haters forums ))) In my opinion people who like OS that is pretty easy to use prefer iPhone, people who like tweaking go for Android And I think that lot of (not all though) iPhone users are just posers
Some people never go crazy. What truly horrible lives they must lead...

I personally don't like the iphone because 1. The screen is tiny 2. They want to charge you for every and anything (including help)smh 3. It's very easy to break and 4. All roads lead to apples wallet, they limit you to only the apps and music they want you to have! I do believe apple is evil and don't care about there consumers at all. Yeah ics isn't here yet but android phones still have better costumer assistance. I bought a g5 apple for thousands of dollars just to find out its incompatible with lots of things including websites like netflix for example and can't even be updated therefor I have to spend a few more thousand for a new one... **** apple!

I have both Android and IPS devicrs(phone, iPod & ipad). Both have pluses and minuses. The frivalous lawsuits by all companies is getting annoying.
Pluses to Android is the openness. I use my phone for work and personal. I want to be able to have the option to block calls with a white list and also block calls permanently. I jailbroke my iPhone but it had several app issues. Once I returned to stack all issues went away.
Minuses for Android is background bugs that lead to severe battery drains. Some of the apps on Android are not as nice as iOS.
Pluses for iPhones are accessory like extended life batteries as a case and battery as one

Dear Everyone,
I've just wondered that why people are getting an iPhone, when there is the best of all Android? For example, I've adviced someone to get themselves a Samsung Galaxy S2. But ended up getting an iPhone 4S! I know that Android is way better than iOS, because of;
Here are some reasons;
1) I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 and an Apple iPhone 3G S
2) My cousin said that the iPhone is a disease (he has a Samsung Galaxy S2 and an iPhone 3G (not the 3G S))
3) T3 Awarded Phones (from 2009) are all Android.
P.S: you can share your opinions and ideas and etc.
If someone buys an iPhone, it doesn't necessarily mean that they hate Android. Maybe they just prefer the looks of the iPhone.

Several People buy an iPhone because
-It has that User Friendly UI (User friendliness make me angry LoL)
-Apple got known first in the smart phone industry. Android was second (I think?)
-Some People like the iPhone's look )

It's the same thing as asking why people prefer apple computers over pc. People are different, what suits for other is not necessary good for everyone.
I think the whole industry needs competition so that we, as consumers, can always get better and better products. That's why it's good thing to see people buying both android and iOS phones.
I think not everybody wants a phone, which is compicated, because you can change everything.
Many people choose a phone, because of the looks and the fact, that there is only one way, to do a specific task (it doesn't even have to be the best way - but one way)
And the iphone has great hardware.
I personally wanted a phone, where I am in control, so I chose Android

The funny thing is, in the late 80s and 90s and even into the 2000s Apple advertised themselves as the alternative to the mainstream boring beige cased PC. Nowadays the iPhone is likely the most recognizable smartphone and about as mainstream as you get. The vast selection of Android phones is the alternative.
Android needs Apple and Apple needs Android, competition provides a better and less expensive product for the consumer. Now if only Apple would play along instead of suing everyone that poses a threat.
Hello, i have used both, and i bear no grudge to either Android or Apple. I generally laugh everytime i read forums sections on articles regarding phone-tests on Android or iPhone. The flaming that Fanbois and Android lovers give eachother.. LOL they have no clue.
iPhone and Android both have their pro and cons. Neither is perfect.
Why i pick Android:
- OPEN SOURCE
- The fun of flashing Roms.
- Good selection of ROMS and phones.
- Utilities on Market are better than Appstore on Apple
Why i wouldn´t choose Android:
- Performance issues and bugs.
- Touch screen is not the best.
- Malware in market apps.
- Some apps sucks on Android that is way better on IOS
- Typing is not the best. Inaccurate at times.
- Flimsy build on many models.
Why i would choose iPhone:
- Lovely and solid built. The glass material on iPhone pisses over Corning Gorilla Glass in my opinion.
- IOS is very flawless in action. little bugs and demands less CPU to run.
- Great selection of games, iPhone runs them better than Android.
- Jailbreaking (opens up a better world on a otherwise very boring OS)
- Simplicity in use.
- Typing on iPhone is much more accurate on IOS than Android, that is because screen on iPhone is closer to your thumb than most Androids.
- Drag & Drop to phone
- Many smarter and well thought features in IOS.
Why i won´t choose iPhone / IOS:
- The build is just solid.
- Closed source (hooray Jailbreaking)
- Very very dull phone when not Jailbroken
- Utilities apps kinda sucks
- Outdated size, 3.5" screen is way to small today (bring on iPhone 5)
- iTunes and Syncing pretty much sucks.
- Everybody owns an iPhone..
First of all, I believe people choose the iphone over android because of brand name. More people are more familiar with Apple's iphone brand than Google's Android devices. Because of that, they choose to go with the brand they're most familiar with. Sort of like those preppy people whp always wear clothes from differing brands like Hollister, Aeropostle, American Eagle, etc.
Second is because Apple supports their older devices more frequently than Google and the other device manufacturers.
Third is because many people are technologically challenged and don't know what to do on their phone. For that, Apple's iphone definitely takes the cake in ease of use. Plus little kids can learn how to use the iphone quickly compared to using an android.
Fourth is apps because Apple has a LOT of apps (more than Android).
Fifth is probably due to looks because the iphone looks premium and most android devices usually don't look premium despite the price.
Finally, to end this IMO explanation, Apple generally has a fluid UI, which rarely lags and even games feel EXTREMELY fluid (in my experience with a friend's iphone). Android may be getting better, but it still lags behind a little more noticeably.
That's pretty much how I would see why people go for the iphone over Android.

Iphone is a popular trend..
And the mass majority of people don't enjoy tinkering with things to make them perfect. They want something easy to use and won't stop being supported by apple. Apple's entire concept is easy to use if the consumer is willing to give up control.
There are so many different versions of android and the main android will be old in two months. It is impossible to have the latest thing in the Android Market.
I am using a two years old Samsung but it runs like a champ on the rom and kernel. Stock would have killed me by now how slow it is. Not everyone wants to spend the time figuring things out.

In my experience with numerous tablets, and phones, my iPhone JUST WORKS. I like the itunes syncing concept, and the phone can always be relied on. My androids though....poor battery life with custom ROM's and kernels. Sometimes there isn't a root. (like the vizio vtab1008). With iPhone, you know that there are millions like you, and who are being taken care of by the few and the proud devs that always bring on the jailbreaks. Sure, android gives me so much more power. Like a strong russian woman! A very smart russian woman...and iPhone is like the all american babe. She looks good, but isn't as strong. When it comes to apps, iPhone has it DOWN. If you want a long lasting phone with amzing build quality, that JUST WORKS, and nothing more, then get an iPhone. If you want more power, and customization, then GO ANDROID!!!!!
I prefer android tweaks/mods/roms way more than IOS tweaks. Let me say this....the day that iPhone get sd card and an onboard recovery image, with open source IOS....then good bye Android lol.
Personally, I enjoy Android much more. +1 for android.
I've seen people who believe ios is the best, and the rest is nothing, and I was like, what?

That does pretty much sum this thread up.
It's had a few days to gain some opinions, and now it's time to end it.
Thread closed.
Before I go into what I'm trying to propose here (if you haven't already guessed), let me say a few things and explain how I came to this idea.
I never owned a tablet, and I still don't. I'm waiting for the 32gb Nexus 10 to restock. So what I might say may or may be wrong because this is all based on observation from reading a bunch of reviews, user input, user criticism, and even fanboy hatred.
One of the biggest criticism from both reviewers and consumers with the Nexus 10 is the lack of tablet-optimized apps. But before I get bashed, let me state that I do know that apps upscale to the screen because Android apps are resolution independent unlike Apple apps. I am also aware that they don't look so bad most of the time and are very usable compared to when the Retina iPad came out and made its existing apps atrocious. I am very aware that this isn't much of a problem for a lot of you. But it is a problem for a lot of you as well.
The main thing is that it doesn't hurt to get tablet-optimized apps. No one is going be angry that they now have apps that look beautiful on their tablets.
Now what I'm trying to propose is that the Nexus 10 owners make it understood that they are unsatisfied with these current upscaled apps regardless of whether you are or aren't. App developers won't be bothered to add a tablet interface into these apps if no one asks for it in the first place, but consumer dissatisfaction is one of the biggest fears of many developers because if no one likes their apps, who's going to download them? Who's going to buy their apps if it has a 1 or 2 star in the market? Certainly not me and certainly not you.
I am not proposing that we drop app ratings to 1 or 2 star (impossible). I am proposing that there should be a sudden influx of downvotes to make it clear that people aren't satisfied with how things are. Downvoting it every so often will get diluted in the other votes. Maybe even sending emails to the developer could be effective.
Anyway, this is a suggestion/opinion. I'm open to discussion and disagreement. It can sound childish but I can't think of any way to show dissatisfaction. Hopefully there isn't any bashing and thanks for the read
It depends how many tablet uses there are that complain. It will probably be drowned out by the phone users giving it good reviews.
Developers can see how many tablet devices download their app. If that amount increased by quite a bit it might give them a bigger incentive to optimize their apps.
Basically we need the N10 and all other Android tablets to sell well to really get the developers attention.

I think there will be a great amount of N10 owners but I could be wrong. Judging from how fast the N10 sold out, I feel like it's going to sell pretty damn well even if it doesn't make record high sales.
The thing I wanted to do was make a list of apps that absolutely need some kind of tablet optimization. This thread is to raise some awareness and see if people are willing to join in.

The N10 is a look at the future. Though it will never sell in the mass millions, it will influence the market. Next-gen 10" tablets from Samsung, Asus, etc will be 2560x1600 too, midrange will be 1080p, and 1280x800 will be reserved for the low end and 7" market.
So a wise developer might want to get on the "HD" train early, so the apps are there and waiting for the more mainstream users when they pick one of those new devices up at Best Buy or Tesco, etc.
Which is of course what Google is hoping for.
