[Q] Battery Help in a particular application !!!!! - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been all over the web in search of something that will extend my battery life in one particular application. So far I am empty handed. I have contacted the application support staff and they say it is not their issue.
I use GolfLogix on the golf course. Up until a couple of weeks ago I had no issues. I could get thru the round and still have plenty of battery left to carry me into the evening.
Then one day without anything changing to my knowledge the phone began to run out of battery half way thru a round, somewhere around the 2-1/4 hr mark.
At that time I was running Ginger Bread on a Droid Razr.
They had me uninstall the app and reinstall the latest version. That did nothing.
Since then I have upgraded to ICS and that has helped a bit. The phone dies at about the 3-1/4 hr mark.
I might add that I am also running Juice Defender Ultimate.
I always start with an overnight charge and 100% battery.
It would appear that something in the app has changed even thou they say not or items in the background are sucking up power.
I have installed Better Battery Stats in hopes that would shed some light but I am not understanding what I am seeing there. Besides once the phone dies their is nothing there after recharging.
Can anyone offer any help or suggestions?
Thanks in advance
:crying::crying::crying:

Well from my experience Juice Defender causes more problems then good. Better Battery Stats will shed some light on what might be waking up your phone but what you might also want to check is to see if some application is sending/receiving large amounts of data, this will pretty much kill your battery because of how much of a battery drainer 4G really is. So just go to your settings and click Data Usage just to check if there is an application like that. I've been hearing about problems like that with the new gallery and such.

Thanks for your reply. I have done as you suggested and turned Juice Defender off. In addition I was able to fore the phone to 3G. That has always been sufficient for me in the past. If you have any other thoughts pls post them. I will come back to you after my next round of golf with the results.

Battery life

ive had my xv6800 for about two weeks now and im still trying to get my power settings tweaked right. granted, i ahve been playing with it alot and probably doing some things that arent conducive to long battery life. One problem is that i dont really know what to expect, so if everyone could please post what they do, any tips/tricks to increase the battery life that get out of it.
also if anyone does think they get good battery life out of theres, what they try to avoid doing on it, that gives you such good life.
thanks

The brightness of the screen is a factor. Try lowering it if possible.
Disable active sync, bluetooth, wifi, and beam when not needed.
Using the GPS drains the battery quick. ( results vary )
Push email also assists with battery drain.
Put your phone on standby when not in use.
Also the extensive use of PIE and Windows Media Player also assists with the drain of battery.
Last if you have poor signal strength this can also be a factor for battery drainage.
There are others out there but these are some that I encountered and learned live with.
There is a battery hack out there that can help you with your battery life. I don't know from the top of my head but search for a registry battery hack.

I think [email protected]$ hit the nail on the head. Everythng stated is a sure fire way to drain your battery quicker. I just got my Mogul and have been playing with it quite a bit even though its pretty much the same thing as my Apache but none the less all those things will drain your battery. I have this thing going on 2 days with very little battery left with minimal use of phone options.
I had previously not had data, so i kept BT always on, never went past 80% with texting and using some programs throughout the day. Now with data, for the last 2 days, wow, down to 20% both days. I turned off BT to see if that can save a little and will turn down the screen a little (was on 100%).

[Q] JuiceDefender Settings & Battery Life

Hey everyone,
Ive head nothing but raving about the App Juice Defender and Ultimate Juice. Im personally having really bad battery life on my vibrant, and seems everyone is recommend this app. Im not running OCed, currently using Voodoo, have cycled battery recently, and I get around 6-8 hours on a battery. Although I know i'm somewhat of a high powered user, I think I should be getting better.
What is everyone using for settings in Juice Defender for settings, and is it really helping your battery life?
Thanks!

Sorry to semi-thread jack... But from what i understand, one of the main features of juice-defender is that when your screen is off, so is mobile data. I used google voice for all of my sms, would they still come through if there was mobile data off?

No because GV uses data
Juice Defender will definitely save you battery, but it depends what type of user you are.
I used to love this app. It was one of my top 3 apps and I recommended this app to everyone I knew. It saved me a few hours of battery life with the default settings. But one day I decided to turn it off to see how my phone would preform. I noticed that JD slows down my phone (not too much, but since I play with my phone a lot, I do notice a difference). I kinda figured this since every time I turned my screen on, it would have to reconnect itself to 3G. It got a bit of annoying, but I'm pretty sure it won't bug that many people.
Now, my friend uses this app as well, and he gets amazing battery life with JD enabled. He only turns on his phone when he needs to (check email, responds to text, picks up a call, etc.)
So for the past month or so, I have stopped using JD. I'm the type of guy that touches my phone every 30 min or so. I like turn it on and mess with it just for the hell of it. So if you're like me, then I do not recommend this app, since you will notice a slight lag after turning the screen on with JD enabled.
Now if you're at work and only check your phone when you have to, then I highly recommend this app. It will definitely save you battery life. Don't know too much about the settings since I haven't touched it in awhile, but I mainly left it at the default settings.
Another tip that I noticed that saves battery is orientation. Ever since I disabled it in settings, I do notice a battery increase (I'm guessing the sensors are not always on causing it to save more battery?) Hope this little review helps zimp.
You can set it to turn on every 15 mins or whatever so you can still get your messages. I didn't like how it keep turn off my data every time the screen turned off even if it was only for a sec. I'm not convined that continually turn data on/off improves battery. If you leave phone on stand by for several hours then maybe, but I don't think a.power user gets much benefit from it. Also it is always running in the background so just having a widget to switch to plane mode might work better for you.
I actually used both and ended up uninstalling.. didn't really see much of a difference. look at my mods on my signature.. those nearly doubled it. i used juice plotter to graph the difference. that and I manually disable mobile and wifi with the power widgets. ya i spend a second pressing the button but works out better that way for me. so save the money and just disable it yourself.
also that when you use defender it takes a while for the data to turn back on when you open the screen compared to using the widget.
in short defender is basically you using the widgets but it does it automatically. BUT you are using an app to run all the time in the backround and that itself uses battery life... when i went to bed and turned off mobile and wifi. with my mod i didnt not lose 1% for those 8 hrs.. and went a full 24 hrs with no recharge..
i also have no task manager or cache cleaner.
real battery life depends on MOD, kernel, radio, and how you use it. these apps in my opinion are a waste. but it's up to you ...

I am using Bionix 1.3 with KingKlick and I have been using it pretty heavily all day and I have about 75% left on battery (It's 5:30 PM right now)
I noticed way better battery life after uninstalling this app. At night, my battery would make it through with just 10% without changing, and half way through the next day. With JD, my battery dropped down to 2% when I would wake up.
Not for me.
To op, I used Juice Defender and Ultimate Juice and noticed it would slow my phone down and I would miss syncs and my information would go out of wack. I found the best way to conserve battery as an overuser is to turn off 3g. I use 2g 3g switcher. It allows you to switch between 3g and 2g. I gained at least 6 more hours on a full charge by turning it on only when I need the 3g speeds. Ie: downloading and surfing the net. For everything else Edge was more than enough. I went from roughly 12 hours medium-heavy use to 20-24. I'm also using Jac's uv voodoo kernel and vibrant 9.
I hope this helps,
Russ

Agreed, I noticed an increase in battery life after uninstalling jd.
I did get better batery life after installing JAC's kernel (with undervolting) on top of bionix 1.3. I did not oc, yet. I read in the op you use vodoo, there is a JAC's kernel with voodoo written in with it now, but the process from going from your stock with voodoo to a new kernel with voodoo is admittedly beyond my experience level to talk about. That might garner some research on your part. The undervolting written into the kernel does extend battery life, I've been off my charger since about 9 this morning, normal to heavy use, currently at 43 percent battery left.

use Tasker app. much better then JuiceDefender and much more options.....pretty much endless options. and it also supports all Locale Plug-ins.
Thanks for the recommendations! Interesting that so many of you actually had worse battery life after using it. May try it for another day and see how it works out.
Regarding the voodoo, I am still testing to see if voodoo uses more power or not. Theoretically it shouldn't, but who knows. its extremely easy to enable\disable voodoo, so easy that its worth keeping even if you keep it disabled, as its the same kernel as JAC's UV but + voodoo.
Appreciate the responses. I will play w/ JD for another day or so, will try tasker, adn see which has the best results.
To those that were worried about syncs like Voice, Emails, tweets, etc, its really easy to set it up so that those processes arent interrupted, especially w/ the ultimatejuice. I have it set up so it still syncs and background data apps like pandora work fine, just interested in everyones experience
Zim, I was having battery drain issues with jac's oc-uv kernel until I did the cycle/reset batt stats. Not I am getting GREAT battery life! You prolly already tried it but if not give it a shot.
Juice Defender has increased my battery life by x2.22...........really remarkable this program is!

Razr Battery drain discussion

Hi All, I have been using the Xda for long time and I am a bit greed and I never register, yep that's right, hate plz come.
But anyway, I have used too many phones that I can't even remember.
Last couples of week, I got rid off my Nexus one and got A Razr, but the disparagement start right with the battery life!
First a few days, I was using only wifi, as one of my number does not has Web pack on it, and I notice a horrible battery performance on the device and I am
Later on, I activied my internet on phone and here comes my theory.
I notice the Wifi is always running for some reason on the background even if I set it as turn of when screen off, when I check the battery usage, it shows almost every second that wifi is on. That should not be right, it should turn it self off when screen off, and it is not doing that.
Second of all, later on, I noticed something like *WIFI* shows under battery usage, and I was thinking what the heck is that, cause there is another "WIFI" still showing, and also something called" .com.motorola.contact. something like that is waking the phone and using the wifi as well.
And there also something like"motorola.home" running and using wifi for ages. Very strange.
OK, then I went out today, yes, I most of the time stay @ home, na I am joking..
I am mostly in a place with WIFI, home, work place, and Uni. All wifi here and there. Today, I took train 3 hrs total out and back from Birmingham to London for those who like stories. it was 1:30 afternoon battery @ 80% then I listen to music for 1 hr and use whatsapp quite a bit(battery hunger app even on iOS)
On the way back I played GTA 3 for one good hour. and it is now 9PM, and 15% left, as later on I tweet a bit, web a bit. which is good, also I took underground so signal is not always there.
After all these my question is for those who had the battery drain, are U in a wifi enviornment quite a bit time and use wifi?
If so, set the wifi sleep policy to Never(this actually will help) and while not using wifi to use heavy data stuff, turn it OFF and see what happen.
Also turn off GPS espically if you have facebook on phone and also the using wirelsess connection for location, turn that off as well.
BTW the GPS on Razr is reallllllly fast on location, it took 5 second to find me from cold boot. Awesome.
And I don't use task killer or smart action, I think using sensor and active these sensor to save battery while they are using a lot juice is not so smart.
BTW: due to I am on and off subway, my iPhone4s dropped a good 15% without any use, it just sitting in my pocket. (as for now, Android is the fun bit, iOS is the backup, as it does hold battery better a bit...lol)
I am on 2.3.6 (651.167.19.XT910.retail.en.EU)
I flash the rom couple of times, it all shows me WIFI is doing some strange thing.
Today still draining and I use a data usage checker and find that moto blur is using a hug a mount of data, WTF!?
I find battery performance vastly better on wifi than 3G. Mine has had atrociously bad battery life recently, so I'm backtracking through stock ROMs to see if I can replicate the setup I got 5+ hours of screen-on time with.
Gotta love those updates. The sooner data works properly in custom ICS ROMs for the XT912, the better.

I've been using SetCPU to create profiles on the ondemand governor and extrapolating from my general usage during commute, news/texts/im, fair amount of screen on time, I'm getting around 10% drain per hour which is fairly nice. With screen off and 3g running leaving the phone to idle, it drops to around 3-4% per hour which is significantly better from what I was getting right out of the box.
Battery test for Motorola RAZR XT910
Yesterday I decided to do a simple test with my new smartphone, a Motorola RAZR, I shall not charge until he get just 15% of battery remaining. So here I will put the results and thoughts about it.
8:00 AM: I woke up and took XT910 off the charger. Wi-fi was turned on;
8:00 - 9:00 AM: I passed one hour using Pulse to read some news, once or twice I shared some news in the Twitter and Facebook, with the Wi-fi on, of course. The Battery got 85%;
9:00 - 10:00 AM: I started to use Whatsapp to chat with a buddy, took at least 45 minutes of intensive use, battery got 70%;
10:00 - 11:00 AM: Cellphone in stand-by, BUT with the wi-fi on, waiting for someone, battery got 60% yet!;
11:00 - 12:00 AM: That one appeared, so I used Whatsapp again for 30 minutes, and battery got 50%;
12:00 AM - 2:00 PM: Two hours with the cells blocked, but still with wireless connection, 40%;
2:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Motorola in stand-by, now with the wi-fi turned off, so, in the first hour, he keep 40% and in the second, he got 30%;
4:00 PM – 5:15 PM: The final test, I passed just one hour playing Ceramic Destroyer without stopping, the battery got 15% and then the phone asked for charging!;
Well, the battery last for 8 hours with wi-fi turned on almost all time, so I think it's was fair, BUT, the battery status is a bit fake, I don't think that the information was correct, but, it works when is a simple test, you know, right?
We all know about the 1,2 Ghz processor, this drains a lot of battery, but the real villain is the connection, wi-fi or 3G, they both spend so much energy of the cel.
My last thought is... always charge your phone when it's possible, even if you don't use in an intensive form, I hope that you'll not have problems because a low-batterys cell phone.
One thing I've found is that when my battery is draining like a tub it's has nothing to do with any data connection. In running apps there's a media process that keeps my phone running at full bore. If I just kill that I get dramatically better battery life. Normally when I don't have to deal with that I can last all day with a quick touch up charge during the middle of the day. This on my xt912.

your right, certain apps can affect battery life so it is ok to kill running task. however just want to make sure other users know that using task killer to constantly kill many apps is not a good idea! most of the apps will prob restart and this cycle will only drain your battery more. whatsapp is a good example, even they state on their homepage you should remove from task killing as battery would drain not just from the constant restart of the app but also the fact that it would continue to regain connection to their server whenever it restarts.
try use a dark colour like black as you know white colour drains much more battery. if your a constant user of google (maybe even if its your homepage too) try use the black google version. save some battery.
i think personally for me 3g uses more battery than wifi. another factor is the network bars that drains battery if low as constantly hanging onto that low connection.
you should try flight mode and see how the battery fairs there so you can get a rough idea.
also come across an app called FreshNetwork which is a signal booster & finder. Android Market - 4.7 out of 5 Star overall rating! (9,152) as i speak, and it does work.. theres been times where ive had 1 bar connections but after using it i get like 3/4bars. so it helps ease the battery drain there as connection is much better.
hope its of some help guys!!
I know theres is some apps that drains battery, one tip is just deactive the auto-sync with your accounts, other thing, I want a batterystatus app, to know better that stuff.
And I will try this connection app, thanks

Man I even turned off my smart actions, so far I only turn on things when I am really using them. Auto-sync only with wifi!

hey first of all nice site secondly your tips are pretty much on the dot.. just thought of these apps people might find useful
autostarts - helps with disabling apps from auto starting when phone boots up (may be slightly speed up boot?) & also prevent certain app event triggers (maybe an app permission u aint happy with?)
FreshNetwork - helps locate better signals in which in return would improve battery life

Battery Drain + Overheating + related/unrelated

Hello all! I have been a silent user of these forums for a while now. I am finally turning to you all for some help because I am unable to determine if the issues with my phone should be treated as related or unrelated.
My phone: Image attached, no outside URLs. In short, Galaxy S2, ATT, 4.0.3, not rooted.
I have had this phone since about March. Ironically, I had a model of the captivate that was subject to the random shut offs. ATT worked with me and since my upgrade was so close, they moved it up a bit. Badaboom this phone. Enough with the stories.
Applications: Some utilities I have on this phone include juice defender, advanced task killer, onavo data manager, eco battery protector. I do admit to the use of applications like instagram, facebook and browsing through some websites, but the effect on my phone is not necessary what I am looking to fix. Also, I use ADW, but I have been a long term user of ADW and find it to be light on my battery usage. Never even shows up in my battery summary. I just feel you should know.
The issue: My phone is being a pain in the rear. I am trying to determine if my overheating and poor battery life are related. When in idle, my phone can drain within about 5 hours. When I first started noticing this, I would make sure wifi and sync were off 'cause I really didn't need it on at work. Still, maybe saved myself 45min of battery life in idle (some screen usage to check time and w/e). Then when I charge, the phone gets so hot I start to worry. I was used to my captivate getting kind of hot, mostly because of the cheat cover, so I've stopped using it and charging with it. Right now, I mostly use a dock to charge my phone overnight, but still, when I take it off its hot as Hades.
Usage: I have noticed a significant difference with juice defender on/off, maybe about a couple hours worth of usage. Usage for me is usually gmail, texting and sometimes yahoo instant messenger. (Yahoo has been pretty light on my battery, never really noticed too much : I have noticed a significant difference with juice defender on/off, maybe about a couple hours worth of usage. Usage for me is usually gmail, texting and sometimes yahoo instant messenger. (Yahoo has been pretty light on my battery, never really noticed too much and that kind of drainage is normal). Heavy usage might include me using my phone as my GPS when driving. I do this while plugged in otherwise it would be off before I exit my hometown. The overheating gets so so so hot that I might unplug it for a bit and turn the AC on. :crying: Also, I use things like instagram, facebook, gizmodo but I make sure to kill those tasks when I am finished using the various utilities I have. I make sure I'm on wifi when I use those and I have them set to only working over wifi with onavo.
Other Issues: Recently, there have been issues with charging. I have had random moments where my phone does not register it is being plugged in until I pull the battery. At first I thought it was my car charger and maybe the fuse on it was a dud but when I got home and tried my dock, it was still nothing. Then I tried USB to my computer and still nothing. After a battery pull, this was fixed. Happened about 2 times over the past 2 months.
.. I don't know what to do to get a balance back. This has been going on for about 2 months now and I can't keep looking for a power source a mere 4 hours into usage.
I am considering looking towards rooting and seeing what customization I can do to manage my phone better and achieve a balance right for me. I am familiar with the process and proficient enough to work through it. Due to my phone feeling too new, I have been avoiding it. I would hate to shell the money out for a new battery, given this phone is less than a year old.
Please please please gurus .... I need your help. I don't know what to do to get back to having my smartphone work for me efficiently.
Well first get rid of the battery savers. In my experience they crashed my brothers phone and don't save battery in the slightest. Just remember to turn WiFi and data off using a toggle. Also download betterbatterystats from the xda forums and cpuspy from play store and let the phone do its thing for a day

Task killers do nothing. Juice defender used to help back in GB days. No longer needed. Just use the phone normally. Also did u say yer on the stock ICS kernel? I was gonna suggest a factory reset to clear data and cache but if yer on stock ICS kernel don't do that.

The first thing I would suggest is to get rid of the stock ICS root then custom rom ICS after that get a little app called battery calibration, fully charge the phone and calibrate the battery i have used this app and swear by it as far as juice defender i have used it and never really cared for it it really never did what is said it would.

Awful battery life?

Hi all,
Got my 920 a few days ago, and while it's a beautiful phone, I'm finding the battery life to be awful.
I've only installed a few apps on it, otherwise it's vanilla. With WiFi and GPS off and only moderate Internet usage (mostly Facebook and IM+) i get a max of 10 hours out of it.
My Galaxy Note easily does twice that with the same usage.
Is there anything I need to check/look for, are there apps that show what's chewing through my battery so much?
I love the phone but that sort of battery life means it can never replace my Note as my main phone.
Thanks!
I should add, it's running the Portico update. No crashes or random reboots that I've seen.
I have only had mine for a few days, but I have found with all WP8 devices (and I have tried most) a hard reset made a difference to battery life. Annoying, but true it seems, well, true for me. I have no idea if it is a placebo but might be worth trying if you can be bothered.
For your info, I am getting good battery life on my 920.
You need to discharge and recharge the battery a few times before the battery life gets better. In about a week you should find the battery life improves.
It was the same for WP7 too..... The software will calibrate the battery over time.

I actually did a hard reset when I first got the phone home, out of habit really. I don't mind doing it again, but maybe I'll give the battery a few more days and see what happens.
Also check your background apps.
it'll get better
when I first got my lumia 920 the battery life was shorter than my old NL 900.. but after a week or so and after I did a deep cycle now the battery will easily last for 48 hours... in battery settings it usually shows 4-5 days :good:
battery life is hit or miss, some days you'll get wonderful battery life and others its horrible, I know that its hard to measure battery life because you just cant replicate the exact same usage everyday. I find it hard to believe that the galaxy s3 (basically the same hardware) has better battery life, battery is only 100 maH more.
I honestly believe its a operating system/ application issue, I believe that there are some applications that are cycling and wasting precious juice from the battery. better coded apps/ better OS control will really be a big deal in the next os upgrade.

I've found turning off background tasks which are not required makes a big difference on the battery. Each time I install a new app, I look at the background tasks and see that it doesn't get added. Only tasks I have running are weather and a news reader app.
Also, I will not allow location on apps that don't need to. Searching for location when an app opens also drains a battery somewhat.
That being said, with my use, I easily get 2+ days (48+ hrs) of battery life.
May be it have to be synced
In my opinion, one reason why this phone need the run in for the battery life is in the first few days it need to be synced with many clouds, facebook, facebook photo, nokia drive....etc. As this will make poor the battery life in the first run in. But after one week everything done, the battery life becomes better. Just guess.
I've also noticed that with bluetooth turned off I get substantial more life out of the battery(but I tend to forget to turn it on when getting in my car, then I dont get calls on my cars bluetooth). I agree with disabling push and do a manual poll on your email servers, I dont have facebook or any of that stuff on the phone. Im mainly on twitter and on my email.
from time to time I see the Location services running when I unlock the phone, I've disabled the location service on bing search but that still comes up from time to time. Like I mentioned before I think the OS has tons of pros and like any other OS in its "early stages"(I say this because windows mobile has been out for some time pre iOS and Android, but it will get better over time as the company realizes main stream OS are getting replaced as the go to home PC.
My experience with Nokia Phones is they need 1 or 2 weeks to get the full battery life....
The first 4-5 days they really have a horrible battery live.. But as I said it's getting better after 1-2 weeks...
BTW I'm really impressed with the battery life of my HTC 8S, I'm getting 2-3 days out of it with heavy usage...
My Lumia 920 achieves a little bit more than 1 day..
I've had the phone since it was released(when it really bad battery problems), I was going to go with the 8x but I really love the camera on the lumia 920.....
Ok for the past two days I've been using my phone with bluetooth off and i've been getting really good battery life, a friend of mine has a surface rt and he was having an issue with the battery depleting even when he left the device on sleep for hrs, he noticed that after disabling bluetooth the issue with the battery went away, this clearly points out an issue with the os and the handling of Bluetooth.
Surface RT and Lumia 920 have a totally different OS i don't think you can compare them that easy...
And it well known the Bluetooth deceases the battery life of every smartphone... It's the same with NFC (Tap&Send) and super sensitive touch or Wifi...
Just turn off the things you don't need...
My Samsung Note 10.1 tablet has no noticeable difference with Bluetooth on or off (that is, not actually using it, just having it enabled). It's using BT 4.0 which has very good power efficiency.
Any idea what revision of BT our Lumias have?
It also makes a difference if you switch your bluetooth on to be visible or not...
Ii is the same with Wifi you can activate to be notified when open networks are around... If you do so.. your wifi will use more power because it is constantly searching for new hotspots...
Well, it's been a few days & recharges, and it seems the battery is getting better.
Thanks for all the suggestions from everyone. I was severely disappointed with the initial battery life, and while it's getting better, I hope it keeps improving. Switching background data services such as push mail and chat makes sense when it comes to preserving battery of course, but so far from all the smartphones I've owned, this is the worst performing of all in terms of battery. I don't want to have to manually check mail or log in/out of chat, since that defeats the purpose of having a smartphone imho.
It's the only thing I have against the Lumia so far... even though WP8 is not as customisable as my Android phone, I certainly appreciate the design and how it works. I'll just keep crossing fingers for more battery conditioning
I think there is something like a help app from nokia on the phone...
You can disable the live tiles you don't use and the automatic xbox live sync service...
I wouldn't totally disable email sync... I just reduce the syncing interval...
If you have a lot of email accounts (maybe more) it even makes sense forwarding them all to a new email account and syncing all your emails
with this 1 account...
There are a lot of dirty little tricks to improve your battery life... Maybe every
single one don't make much difference... But all of them do...
With a lot of frustration, I have been experiencing high battery drain also, with the phone staying warm even while idle.
Following various comments, fixes, could be' on various forums, I hard reset my new, less than one week old, phone.
I was kind of annoyed, surprised it took a very long time to recover, with a picture of gears churning on the screen.
Finally it booted up with a message, reset or restore. Wasn't expecting the choice. I chose restore to see what's up.
There was an amazing amount of stuff to restore.
After restore completed, my phone was still having battery drain issues. I decided to check out what this back up and restore thing was.
Pardon me I never read the manual. No need to go into discussion of the process.
I then chose to disable back up and restore, soft reset, and boom. Battery usage is now at -2%/hr. instead of -12-20% idle.
Have any of you tried this?
