I am from India and I have unlocked Galaxy S3. I have been hearing that Jelly Bean for S3 is out but when I check for Software Update it says the phone i already updated but its on ICS. When we will get JB ?

Four hours after idiots stop asking XDA when will they get JB update and not before .Twenty third repetitive Indian to ask this question today and not search .

Yes it is out. It will be available on kies and ota. If you're impatient check sammobile to download and flash it. Use CSC as INU.

This is the actually official release right?
Also do i have to follow their guide or can i just flash it like i would any other custom ROM? Is a full wipe necessary? (i use full wipe script from android revolution HD on mike1986 post)
Btw is there a way to do full wipe manually on the recovery page?
Yeah its official jelly bean, follow everything they say down to the last detail, also....make sure you have the international variant of the S3 because inevitably, you WILL brick your device if you flash it on any other device other than the international (quad core, GSM) version, good luck

sorry for a lame question, but how do i know if my SGS3 is international version? I bought it from ebay, which arrived from Hong Kong, however I think it is a european version (France??), I don't remember how i found that out last time. I am on a custom ICS ROM.

Odin recognizes tar files only AFAIK...if you have a zip file...extract the contents ..it will have a tar.md5 file inside it..

I've applied the polish jelly bean to my UK s3 but kies now says it doesn't support upgrading any ideas how to fix please

Re above .
Wipe phone and apply your original firmware .
Bit pointless flashing a JB rom only to remove it why not make up your mind what you want.Official Updates via Kies and OTA when they are released for your phone .
Or join XDA and flash stock roms on release . You cannot have both .

I flashed my s2 with an ics Rom from here and it also upgraded through kies and would thought this would have as its the official polish release

u will have updates only if the same is available(OTA) for ur region
Everywhere i read says t mobile galaxy s2 is running the 4.0.4 ics . That the update is out and available.

it says no firmware. i dont know how to find out what firmware im running.
im still trying to connect to kies. for some reason when i installed kies to the computer my phone is now not reconized by the computer.

You have an SGH-T989. This is the forum for the I9100, a different device.
Go to the T989 forum.
go to sammobile.com and search for your device's update.. luck if there's already an update from your carrier

Maybe your region is not out yet? Check sammobile.com for all jb firmware and
Regions already out.

Not sure when OTA will be out for India, but you can use sammobile.com to download the latest JB for S3
When do we get galaxy s3 jelly bean ota update since it almost a week that jelly bean is released in india.. samsung is such care less about indian customers.

Force update is thru kies. You just have to wait it out if you dont have a pc. There is no schedule published. so no point guessing on update. Just keep checking in settings>about device> system update
Thats y i started this thread.... to know when ota update is going to hit india.... and iam pointing out samsung for their poor customer service

i live in india and am running official indian jb firmware
just connect your device to kies and go to tools over there choose firmware upgrade thing and it will throw you into official jb of india with removing your user data
