Hi all,
I've been running a Jelly Bean ROM for a while now but need to start using the lapdock again. Are there any ICS (or JB) ROMs that have a working webtop for the lapdock?
Alternatively is there a way to get Google Now working on Gingerbread ROMs?!
Cheers
Wag
There is no web top in ICS/jb. There is HDMI mirroring though.

lol...click on your link, go to the original thread and download the gTab/Harmony edition...it's the tweaks that he's been developing over top of a Ginger core but it's still a full ROM...Download, wipe all, flash, wipe dalvik, reboot and wait...initial boot takes a while..
Ahhh beautiful. Thanks. Is it pretty stable?

I have no complaints
Also no complaints on the tablet tweaked stuff. Running very well.
Corwins Tweaked CM7 RC4Beta2 has the tablet tweaks incorporated also (as an alternative if you want the tablet tweaks..)
Just installed it on a friend's nook and it's running great. I'll probably be switching to it from Vanilla AOSP Gingerbread.
the only gripe about it that i have is that it wont play videos. but from what i seen no gingerbread roms can play videos. untill there is a fix or if anyone knows of one besides using rockplayer or another software decoding app i think im going to have to stick with vegantab. But i do love the softkeys

I believe they are talking about hardware accelerated playback. I don't think any of the gingerbread based roms support hw acceleration currently.

ahh, yeah...ok...yeah, it's not the best of playback in some videos without the hardware acceleration, but it's hardly noticeable the majority of the time...
when i go to play my mp4's they wont even open at all. I would have to open them in rockplayer and software decode them whic isnt even watchable because of how choppy they are. maybe if i convert them to a different format any ideas?
Is there a way right not, that the LAPDOCK can work with Webtop 3.0? I'm running the Ics leaked rom right now.

The answer at the present time for the laddock is no. Webtop3 (basically tablet ui) only works on the hd dock or hdmi. You can use tablet ui on the Lapdock with epinter's CM10 (and others) providing you follow some steps to toggle into tablet ui.

Hi all,
I am just wondering if this is possible? I really liked the app and have an apk for it but it would not install so i was wondering if there was maybe a clone of it that can install on 2.3.7 or if there is any way to get it to install?

Hmmmmmm , I don't think you can find or port that official album for 2.3.7 because ics apps are built with sdk 15 which isn't supported on gb rom.
You may can find similar apps like quickpic
Sorry

to be honest it is not as smooth as gingerbread but it is. everything works now and the performance is pretty good and devs are still working. As long as you dont need to play any ramhungry games it is enough.
I suggest either cm9.1 by scritch which is cleaner or feravolts oce cream sandwich rom which is more tweaked. Also there is some jelly bean, Dixperia 9 had sony theme and so sony album, too. also i felt that jb was a bit smoother than ics (probably because of project butter)

What in the world is ICS 2? Are you referring to Jellybean? Yes I know it works on that but unfortunately the 4.0 does not have a JB ROM yet.

he means
"chrome works on ics too"
Haha Chrome porting to GB not possible in 100 years
The reason on why the Chrome app is only on Ice Cream and Jelly Bean is because it requires hardware acceleration. Gingerbread does not support it. Here on XDA, your fellow members (considered developers or "devs"), port, or design their own improvements to be released and flashed. Therefore, requesting to port Chrome is incorrect, but to find ROM'S that do support it, would be your answer.
This isn't Chrome but its close to it. Look for the xScope Browser. If you look on the store you'll only find the Pro version which is 4.X+. The older v6.5 runs on GB and works well.
So i've been using a custom rom (ICS) and it got really laggy when i installed just 7 more applications the booting takes longer laggs and so on.
But with GB the battery and performance is mutch better on the Xperia Mini.
So what features do i loose with downgrading do GB?

Hmmm...you won't lose nothing much if downgrading to GB in phone features but you will lose a lot of apps in Play Store that compatible with GB....most of the latest apps/games that come out recently has the minimum requirement is on ICS and above....
Thanks dude. ICS sucks. JellyBean Isn't stable enough yet. Gb is the best for now.

ICS is stable. But on Jelly Bean the Fm radio and notification light don't work. I use fm radio everyday and i need notification lights

Hmmm....FM Radio and Notification Light works in Jelly Bean v4.1.2 (unless you use nAa Custom Kernel v3.+.+, FM Radio will not be working) while in Jelly Bean v4.2.2 only FM Radio didn't works....Notification Light work fine...
Well i use a GIngerbread custom rom ofc. i wound use the official GB because it's bloated with apps i will not ever use. I found a nice Xperia S styled rom and i use it the battery is mutch better performance is 10x better. Hopefully when NobodyAtAll will start developing Roms for these devices it will be top notch stuff.

So you are saying that GB still beats the custom JB roms(i.e. CM 10.1 LX, FXP CM 10, etc.)??
In therms of my daily usage. If the FM radio , notification lights worked then Jelly would be the best beast of a rom.

Well, If the JB room has its focus on performance, then its better than a GB one, at least from my experience

Hmm....even if GB and JB has the same number of app and the same configuration, JB is still superior than GB....JB is a continuest evolution in Android development....what ever bug in previous release on Android is fixes in the next release + new features/addon in every next development....
now the main problem is right now, our MDPI devices is born with GB as default Android version, so basically GB if perfect for our devices...ICS is in the other hand is a minor upgrade before SONY abandoned Sony Ericsson product...so whatever bug in ICS will never be fixed by SONY, instead SONY release JB for 2012 devices...what we have in JB right now is probably 70% capability of the true JB come from Dev in CM....
Also to my knowledge, there is not a fully working camera/video recording on JB, that is pretty much the only reason keeping me on ICS right now.
