Hey everyone! Much thanks to xda forums for help finally getting my Lumia 900 unlocked! Now I want a 920, but do not want the headache or hassle of dealing with AT&T again. Any recommendations on where to buy unbranded Nokia Lumia 920's?

I asked negrielectronics if the Lumia 920 they have in pre-order are unbranded but I did not get any answer.

Any reason why these unlocked phones are fetching a $200 - $350 premium over AT&T no-contract unlock price at 3rd party sites? Could we expect price to drop once AT&T starts to sell?

Probably because AT&T off contract does not mean unlocked.

I think because the non-commitment $449 at-t price still *requires* you to sign up for a data plan and it won't be unlocked. Look at the fine print on their website when you select the device.

If you're in the GTA, go to Pacific Mall in scarborough. Every other store in the mall sells cell phone cases/accessories and you'll have a couple that sell 'name brand' cases. So Otterbox, Incipio, Speck Candyshell, etc.
Hi,
I bought lumnia 920 from at&t yesterday, website shows price of $99, all news etc shows $99, but my receipt shows $50.99:
Code:
PHO NOK LUMIA 920 BLK 1 @ $50.99
Is it same for others? Some discount? Or I got 820
Box says 920, phone looks like 920. Manufacturer Mode Name RM-820_nam_att_100. About screen says NOKIA Lumnia 920.

You probably have 2 receipts like the rest of us. They discounted the phone $50 and charge you $50 for the wireless pad (making the pad free in the end).
RM-820 is L920
499.99 Off Contract
The Website and all press releases stated the phone is 449.99 off contract.
However When I purchased at the store the price was 499.99.
Has anyone else found this to be the case. When I called in to ATT they told me the website is running a sale which
I know isn't the case but figured I would check around for in store pricing before I push my complaint up the chain of management.
Hi,
So I saw that Walmart has Nokia 920 for $49.99. That's a pretty good deal - however, they do not include wireless plate.
Anybody know about the nokiafreecharger(.com) site and whether they will allow free chargers for deals like this?

On that site, maybe, but everyone buying them at at&t is getting a free charging plate.
You got the Lumia 920 for $49.99 at Wal-Mart.
This is only an AT&T promotion which you have to pay $99 to ge the wireless charging pad.

If you can't buy it at AT&T, buy it at walmat and use the $50 you saved to buy the wireless charger outright.
Funny thing, I looked at the attwireless website, I did not see they mention the free charging plate is exclusively for online purchasing. If you look at the fine print at the bottom, it says "Nokia Wireless Charging Plate Offer avail. until 1/10/2013 or while supplies last. New 2yr contract w/ qual. voice & data plans req'd to qual. for Offer." and this is what I saw in the description "for a limited time, included§ at no cost with purchase of the Nokia Lumia 920. I bought mine at the AT&T store, but if you purchase the phone somewhere else, I guess you can call customer service to ask for the charging plate at no cost.
I purchased mine from an at&t store for $450 outright with no contract. I tried arguing with the store manager about the free wireless charger but he wouldn't do it. So this morning I called customer service up and explained to them the situation, the lady was super nice about it and gave me a $50 dollar credit + taxes on my current bill. So I ended up saving close to $60 dollars.
Just FYI for those who didn't get the free charger.
If I buy the Lumia 920 on amazon full price without any contract, am I able to throw my t-mobile SIM card in it and start using it?

Full price does not always equate to unlocked. You'll need to confirm that it is indeed unlocked before purchasing.

Nah you cannot at this moment. Amazon currently only sell the off-contract AT&T model and we all know that this version does not actually unlocked. So you better wait for a while until Amazon starts selling the international version.
Sounds good (or bad, heh). Thanks for the concise info!
