[Q] Vibration during call - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a strange problem with my S3 since the JB update.
I have unbranded UK BTU stock, never rooted.
Whenever I am talking on the phone and receive a message the phone vibrates in my ear. This didn't happened on JB. I tried turning off the Messaging vibrate setting, that solved the problem partially because the phone would never vibrate when receiving a message.
Bellow are my settings:
Call settings->Call alert->Call Vibrations all unchecked; Alerts on call unchecked
Message settings->Vibrate checked
Settings->Sound->Sound and vibration unchecked
I would like my phone to act as it did on JB, notify me during a call when receiving a message through a sound and to vibrate+ when receiving a message when not talking on the phone.
Are there any other setting that I am missing?
Thanks.

Are you using a 3rd party app??
Go sms or similar??

SOLVED [Q] Phone doesn't vibrate when receive a SMS

Hey guys,
weired question...
My x10 MP doesn't vibrate when I receive a SMS.
Yes, I know there is an option in the SMS app that enables the vibration, it's on
Also, is it possible to receive a notification of a new SMS without showing the first 50 letters of the SMS on the notification bar?
Same here, mine also no vibrate on sms and emails alert..
But it does vibrate with incoming calls if I put the phone in vibrate mode.
Not sure what fault it is, everything seemed setting right in the setting menu.
Finally I figure it out!
Step 1 install handcent sms
Step 2 go to your sms configurations and make sure that the vibration notification isn't check!
Step 3 uninstall handcent sms.
Step 4 go to your sms configurations and make sure that the vibration notification it's check!
It works \o/

I got it working too..
Installed AudioManager and set notification alert vibrate box checked and everythings worked as it should be.
Just wonder why it did't work when everything is in default setting(no 3rd party sound/audio app installed) with Alert vibrate checked.
It must be the firmware default bug...
Do you think there's a way to activate it without installing something beforehand?
I don't know, because the initial problem was (i think) caused by handcent
On my issue, I didn't install any 3rd party sms but still the vibrate don't work. Until I installed this audio manager and solved..

It works
I don't know what caused the problem, but the Handcent SMS seemed to work.
Thanks
is it x10MP bug? you should report to sony =p

no more vibration upon receiving text after 2.1 upgrade

Dear All,
Upon updating, I noticed that my phone stopped vibrating when receiving text even though under the sound setting, the "always vibrate" box has been checked, and under the message setting the "notification vibration" box has been checked too. Any ideas? Thanks!
Had The same issues but with The sounds in notificafions after The 2.3.3 update, they were checked and still didnt make any sound when getting a sms, email, etc.
I just unchecked it and checked it again, turned phone off and on, problem solved, I hope yours could be fixed this way

Message tone is getting cut off after update

I've got the International S3 and have just applied the OTA update, (I then re-rooted my phone with CFroot).
After updating my SMS message tone gets cut off before it finishes. I've still got the standard whistle tone that I'm using. It's incredibly annoying to have the tone be cut off, has anyone else experienced this? Any fix?
Mine did that, just go and reset your message tone.

thanks, yeah, i just changed it to a different tone, and then went into the actual SMS settings ap and re-set it to the whistle tone in there, seems to have fixed it.

[Q] Problem with the notifications during call!

Was on a call, an email came to my exchange account and it started playing from my earpiece. Couldn't hear a word of the other party. Cut the call and restarted the phone. Was on a call with him again and then an another mail. BAM was waiting for the song to end.
I tried opening the email. Reducing the volume to minimum. Turning the speaker on. Mute the call. shake the phone arghhhh
I work on night shifts and the song "RIGHT NOWWWWW" by Korn plays when an email comes The second time I let it play and was just mute. damnit.
Is this how the phone normally behave? Just bought it a few days back. This doesn't happen when I am on a Viber call. only on GSM calls...
Am running stock samsung ofw 4.0.3 with SiyahKernel S2-v5.0i.
can anyone happen to help me please? i am still facing the issue. i am unable to stop the notification sound until it actually ends on its own. the call i am on when the notification actually comes turns out to be a waste i just am unable to stop the notofication sound...

for anyone facing the problem of notifications during calls, you can do the below to turn them off during calls.
system settings -> call -> call alert -> alert on call (you need to uncheck this.)
done

Sms screen on

I have an issue that keeps causing me to hit the emergency call button on my phone.. Every time I receive a text message my screen turns on. I've tried literally everything that I can think of. I tried turning off all notifications from the default sms and downloading go sms and disabling screen on, that didn't work. I tried freezing the sms app and using go sms, that didn't work. Finally I deleted all 3rd party apps and turned off all notifications for sms then had my wife send me a message, and my screen turned on with no sms notification but it's still turning on when I receive a sms. It's only when I receive sms that it happens. I have a ZTE grand x Max plus Rooted and ready to try anything that you guys have to offer. Amazing phone other than that little annoying "feature"
