hi i have a slightly annoying issue with my x10: it keept turning itself off when the battery is between 15 - 20 % i can turn it back on and it shows that i have battery left bt i check it again maybe an hour later and its turned off again if i keep using it ie play a game or browse the net it gives the n ormal countdown reminders about plugging it in and will go all the way to 1% before turning off so the problem only seems to be when not in use. any ideas?
is the power safe thing set on 15%?
What power safe thing sorry for being dumb

I am actually quite new too
seem like about 2 week only with this phone
But i do know there are something called like "Power safe blablabla" you can set at 5% 10% 15% or so on
This will definately do something when ur battery level reached certain percent
As i know it force close my WiFi adaptor ~.~
But i am not sure if its the problem that you are facing
If ur using a theme .then there might have been error in installation . Try to install the updated version of the same theme. This used to happen to me to but in different way, my phone used to jump 20% battery levels.
If u r not using a theme u can:
Save data and reflash
Or
Just find a good theme of ur liking and install. It should fix ur battery problems

First, please do not close this thread. It does not disclose of any private information. Anyhow, the update has already been leaked, so, I don't see the big deal.
As some of you may know, I have had to great opportunity of being in the Motorola DROIDX2 soak test for Gingerbread 2.3.3.
Anyways, I am making a large list of problems, and dislikes that are withheld in the update. With this list, I will provide possible solutions.
Why this is important:
Being a soak tester, I have the direct power of posting on the private forums. I also have a few other advantages I won't disclose of. But, I figured I would speak with the community who doesn't have the opportunities that I do. Hopefully this will bring more issues amd ideas/solutions into the light and Motorola developers can work to include them in the next update.
I will be updating this post with reasonable ideas as they are posted.
Please, please, please do not post, "I have not had problems with..."
I am trying to keep this forum clean. Issues and solutions only, please.
Thanks!

Messaging
-When receiving more than one picture message, all picture thumbnails display the same picture
-Exiting out of picture messaging require the back button to be pressed fast very quickly, otherwise, just takes back to picture
-Cannot send text message to numbers with prefix 1#
-When sending mass text messages, they fail without notice
-This also causes text messages sent afterward to fail unless phone is rebooted
-Do not receive texts on occasion. They come in all at once, no matter service.
-Messaging (email) caches all recipient addresses from all received emails.
Screen Issues
-General screen pixelation
-When turning off phone, dark grey screen with darker grey vertical bars
Battery Issues
-Phone idle process is causing immense battery drain
-I have extended battery, and have a hard time getting through 10 hours of light use
-Battery icon on the notification bar inaccurate. Moves in +20% increments and lags the actual battery status.
Connectivity
-Getting worse network connectivity signal
-Signal gets stuck on 1x frequently
-Phone occasionally boots with no signal; must be rebooted
-Wifi network connects, but shows 0 bars and phone will not connect until location is forgotten and rebooted
-If phone is connected to wifi when it goes into airplane mode, it will not exit airplane mode
-Phone boots into airplane mode and must be rebooted
-Bluetooth is faulty on multiple levels
Docking Issues
-Docking has a lot of issues
Stock MultiTouch Keyboard Issues
-Keyboard occasionally closes while in use
-Upon double tapping space (for period) keyboard locks up and cannot be exited without rebooting (reproduced every time)
-While in landscape mode, scrap the done key for a send key. Hitting done, then send is redundant
Software
-Immense amount of worthless software
--VWZ Apps - Redundant
--Blockbuster - Can be downloaded from market
--Books - Can be downloaded from market
--Emergency Alerts - Should be a settings option, not an app
--Gmail - Available on market
--Gallery - Really buggy, bring back the 3D Gallery
--Help Center - Should be a settings option, not an app
--IM - Does anyone even use messaging clients anymore? Much better market alternatives
--Maps - Available in market
--News/News & Weather - Better market alternatives
--Skype mobile - No FFC deems this worthless
--Slacker - Available from market
--VZ Navigator - redundant and subpar to Android nav
-Install non essential apps to the /data portion and let us uninstall if we want!
UI Issues
-Blue icons on blue bar are very hard to see
-Occasionally, icons switch back and forth between blue and white
-Icons are not appealing
-White launcher dock doesn't play well with all background - especially ones of dark color - allow dock to be changed/removed
-A lot of home redraws
Camera/Camcorder Issues
-Flash is inconsistent. Occasionally take pictures and flash goes off too early.
-UI has many bugs - namely sidebar being transparent in some locations
-Full HD recording is capabale, but missing, why?
-No designated button is a major fault of design. Allow volume rockets to be used to take picture.
Wallpaper Issues
-Magic smoke live wallpaper does not function - appears as a single solid color
Browser Issues
-Icon is misleading
-Allow browser homepage to be set as nothing - blank homepage or as bookmarks
Market Issues
-Not updating to newest market
-Multiple downloads
-Downloads occasionally do not process
Audio/Video Issues
-Audio popping - occurs for me now, but not during Froyo
-General phone volume, especially in call volume, needs an increase
-Occasionally, notifications do not sound
-Taking over a minute for any audio player just to initialize
-Sometimes the phone just freezes up playing music, the green led stays lit constantly, and I have to unplug it from the charger and it isn’t until I unplug it from the audio jack that it becomes responsive again
-Video playback hesitates every so often
Response Issues
-Touch response isn't always accurate and sometimes have to touch twice to allow response
-MAJOR ISSUE: Not my problem, but multiple reports of the phone touch response not working at all after update. No fix.
-When plugged into AC charger, or USB, phone loses responsiveness and touch screen loses accuracy
Other Issues
-Phone overheats when on charge
-A lot of random reboots - did not occur in Froyo
-Notification light occasionally does not work
-2.3.3 still has issues handling dual core processors
-Phone occasionally won't wake up
-Phone takes 3-4 seconds to wake up
-When coming out of "sleep mode", I've experienced several system force closes as the devise gets passed the lock screen, then the led stays on, and goes dim when the screen times out.
Solution to all problems: Allow unlocking of bootloader.
I have had issues unlocking the bootloader
What he said
Dislikes:
* Why 2.3.3 instead of 2.3.4 as the later fixes known issues with dual cores.
* Excessive Bloatware as it slows down the phone considerably.
* Notification Icons...hate the color and it makes it hard to see them. Maybe allow us to change them?
* Latest Blur for those that like it, not that I do.
* Unlocked Boot Loader!!!!
I will add more as I think of them.
Bob

Bluetooth connectivity is sh*t for me as well, but was the same on the froyo version.
Some intermittent skipping/popping (about once or twice per half hour) while listening to music/podcasts.
a few times a day my phone will at random hit a glitch somewhere and SOD then reboot
my X2 is significantly smoother / faster now so I am enjoying the overall GB update, but I am experiencing the following issues once I moved to GB:
Significant idle battery drain vs froyo. I get max 12hrs off of full charge instead of 16-18hrs on standard battery with same usage.
Tends to re-draw the homepage when exiting apps, but not always. Seems to be at random.
Phone takes 2-3 seconds to turn the screen on after being off for a few minutes. Not a major problem but annoying.

So far nothing to hinder my enjoyment of the phone. I'd say increase the speakerphone volume.

I have an Advent Vega Android tablet and I only use it docked as an alarm clock and radio.
When on the dock it doesn't think that it is charging when at 100% it instead acts as if it is running from an infinite battery, and therefore the screen wont stay on, even thought I have "stay awake" enables in the settings.
Sometimes the tablet simply doesn't charge to 100% and stays at 99 instead which is perfect, is there a way I can make this happen every time?
---------
Just realised I have put a "&" instead of a "%" in the tread title, can't seem to edit it, this is not my day.
You need to install a kernel that has BatteryLifeXtender on it.

If ur wish is to stop charging at 99 percent,i hav an idea.instal battery indicator.apk n set an alarm as wen the charge completes 99% in the given options of the app.
If U Think I Helped U,Then Press Thanks Pls.
You need a kernel that supports this feature...then use RAM manager...

Thanks for the feedback, unfortunately the device doesn't have many kernels or such things available, Is there any other way to set the screen to stop dying? Even when running off of battery power (though it wouldn't technically be running off of battery power, it just thinks it is!)?
Hmm...tried to prolong screen timeout in settings? Set a value as high as possible, lik 30 minutes etc.
Hi all,
When I charge my HP TP running CM9 nightly, a clock screen is displayed automatically. I note that after my screen time out period of five minutes, the screen does power off, however when I wake up in the morning the screen is on displaying the clock screen - I guess email or some other notifications turn the screen back on.
Basically, can I change the behaviour so that when I put the TP onto the Touchstone, nothing special happens and this clock isn't displayed? I have an app that switches the screen off when the case is closed, and essentially this charging behaviour is interfering with this. I don't want the TP clock blazing away lighting the screen up all night.
Thanks,
Andy
Wow some refuse to do any work on their own....
If you want to shut the screen down all you have to do is hit the power button and the screen shuts down
As far as the Desk Clock app... You simply go into app manager and clear the defaults for it

I'm puzzled by your sarcasm - no, I can't figure this out by myself as I can't identify the configurable part of android that triggers this clock front end. I had Googled it but I can't find a suitable answer there either. Whilst I can shut the screen off with the power button, as per my original post when I wake up in the morning the screen has come back on.
Cheers!

Then you have something installed waking your TP that we have no way of troubleshooting without some type of log.... when you shut the screen down there is no reason for Android to turn it back on unless YOU have EXPLICITLY given an app YOU installed permission to do so. As far as the clock... when you set the TP on the Touchstone one of two things happens... a dialog box comes up with the apps that can by default be activated when placed on Touchstone OR YOU HAVE designated a default app to do this....
Now if YOU can't remember which app YOU ALLOWED to run then you have one of two choices.... go through all the apps in app manager clearing all defaults OR wipe all data and start from scratch and pay attention to what you press this time

Thank you for your reply, but unfortunately you are wrong.
I only have the clock app installed that triggers when the device docks - no other apps respond to this event, therefore when I dock the device I don't get presented with the option/choice, it just displays the clock as there is no alternative. I've found the best solution to be to install 'Screen Off ' from the market. This has an option to act on the dock event, and now when I put the device on the dock I get given the choice as to whether to show the clock or to power off the screen. This works pretty much perfectly, and without the clock showing the screen stays off, instead of coming back on randomly after I shut it off - therefore, I don't think that the clock was coming back on before due to notifications from apps/emails, but be cause the clock app itself was triggering - possibly when the device reaches full charge or something and temporarily disconnects from the dock or something, I don't know. In summary, you need more than one app installed that is coded to respond to the dock event, otherwise when you dock the device android just defaults to the dock event and powers the screen back on periodically. I have never explicitly enabled this behaviour, and without installing another app it seemingly cannot be changed or disabled.
I thank you for taking the time to reply to my post, but I think you should learn something from this thread - just because a problem may seem to be user error doesn't necessarily mean that it is - your post is completely wrong which is fine as I appreciate that you are just trying to help, but by getting all aggressive over it you've just ended up looking a little stupid. The forums should be all about helping people, not ridiculing them - hopefully this post will serve to help anyone out with a similar predicament.
Cheers.
Ignore cdzo72 - he's one of the most sarcastic members of this forum. He seems to have a hate on for anyone who has an issue with anything, and can't solve it for themselves. You get used to him, and ignoring him.

The clock app doesn't trigger itself. Mine charges all night and never turns back on. That said, it is almost impossible to move the pad while it's on the TS without charge disconnecting and reconnecting. And that will trigger the clock app. So, if you have the TS on an unstable surface that allows ir to be inadvertently "jiggled", that could cause the clock to turn back on.

Hey Man,
I don't know if it affects other devices to be honest. On my phone the clock app is configurable, but on my Cyanogenmod9 HP TP tablet it isn't something that you can change the behaviour of (if you tap the stock 'Clock' app it just locks the screen and displays a clock, you cant set any options like on my SGSII). I don't know if this is a feature of tablet OS'es in general, or just the CM iteration of Ice Cream Sandwich.
Either way, the 'Screen Off' app references working with a number of docks (blurb specifically references Sony ones) so I'd give it a shot and hopefully it will work for you.
I had that problem too, it was very annoying. I installed dock no op from the market and it finally stopped waking me up. That seems like the only option since cm9 doesn't let you set the dock behavior.
Hey there,
Using: galaxy s2
Rom: Resurrection Remix 2.4 on ICS (4.0.4)
(Though it happened on few other ROMs)
Issue 1:
Often, the time on my status bar will stop updating, and will be stuck.
Going to ROM options, removing it from the status bar and putting it back in will update it once but generally it will still be stuck at that time.
Rebooting the phone (usually) fixes this.
Is there anything I can do to prevent it? It seems the phone's clock is ****ed and not specifically the status bar's clock as clock applications also do that sometimes (Getting stuck)
Issue 2:
If my phone is stuck, after reboot it will generally start with battery percentage 22%, regardless if the battery is full or empty.
Rebooting the phone fixes the issue, but otherwise it takes sometimes hours until the percentage is back to its real state.
Any fix in mind?
Thanks!

battry not showing correct stats
hi you could try this
1. switch phone off
2. put on charge till 100%
3. unplug charger wait a min and put charger back on for another ten mins or so, so it is deffinately fully charged. (it might say 100% but sometimes may not be from my reading around)
4. unplug charger and switch phone on into recovery mode, scroll around and find wipe battery stats. click and run it.
5. run phone untill battery is completely empty then fully charge again (not using phone ie switched off)
dont worry about readings.they will settle down after a few or so of step 5 only ie dont repeat wiping batter stats after youve done it once.
if that fails you could try new battery and repeat steps if prob persists.
also are you undervolting cpu gpu ifso it may just be getting used to the new settings not 100% sure though someone with a higher knowledge may know more on undervolt isues
as for your date and time are you using get time from interweb etc try unticking them i think and are your timezone correct.
hope this helps

For the time problem. Go to settings date and time and untick automatic date and time and set the correct time.
For the battery. If you're running SiyahKernel you can try to reset the fuel chip in extweaks. If you're not just let it settle and it will calibrate itself eventually.
Hope this helps you
