I think you have to read the corresponding ROM threads deeply, then be confident to check some ROMs on your phone by yourself.
Every user has different needs. So the best for the one might not be the best for the other.
P.S.: And be careful with your question for the best ROM => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1612881

It's all subjective.. Every single person has a different opinion.
And he's not being "hard", he's pointing out the rules for you, since you obviously didn't read them before you posted

Which ROM?

Hi I'm just wondering about which custom ROM I should use.I'm interested in a ROM with no lag, very good battery life and is either ICS or JB.
Thanx
There is no such rom yet for ICS or JB.
If you want good battery and no lag you should absolutelly flash popdog's Oxygen rom.
Or you can try gingersnap by neko.

As _viren_ said, there is no perfect ROM. You'll have to try the ROMs to find what's suitable for you. There are ROMs based on stock LG firmware, on AOSP, CM 7/9/10, ROMs based on other ROMs. Take your pick. If you like one, stick with it.
Or, as we all like to do, go on a flashing spree just for the heck of it.

There is no best ROM and asking this is against the forum rules.
There is CM10 and ROMs based on CM10. Flash and see which is best for your use.

CM10 is still in nightly builds so you won't get some of your components working and still will have lots of bugs, Stock jb is currently better... But still i wont tell you to use it, try stable roms like revolt which is based on CM10.
Try rephrasing your question like "which rom is advised or suggested CM10 or stock JB? "

Symbian.
Getting user opinion ain't the same thing and avoids a lot of hassle and gives a better understanding for example if I and several people suggest a to friend to get a DROID instead of the closed Apple iOs i am doing him a lot of favor, saving him time and money.

Between the two CM10 is faster but graphics processing might be slightly less buggy in the stock, anyway the current stock jb is a leaked version and it won't be the same as an official stock version. I recommend you use CM9 stable if looking for a great gaming experience. Or if you are insistent on JB then look at other custom roms like the one I mentioned before.

[Q] Choosing the right ROM/Kernel 4 performance

Hey every1
so I wanted to fix a SGS3 of a friend of mine who isn't so much into modding. His phone lags like hell, keyboard and calls, just everything. I'm personally on a GNEX and couldnt stay one minute with a phone in this condition.
Well i thought about Supercharge his phone, maybe also changing the Kernel before, but leave the rest stock... but maybe it wont be enough and I'll have to flash him a ROM.
Now I ain't got a SGS3 to flash me trough all kind of ROMs in order to see for myself what works and what not.
So what I'm asking for are some recommendations. The ROMs for SGS3 are all different then then these on GNEX...
There are many and i want to reduce my options to lets say 3-4 ROMs and some kernels...
Anyone?
Thanks
This is so gonna turn into a best ROM/Kernel thread...

Well.... i dont search for the best ROM since its very individual. I search for one that is near to stock and stable. My friend won't need any customization...
Then try what's available. Read the different rom descriptions.

too much Im just asking for some names dude, I will read them then... just to cut down the options available, so less work...
On my personal opinion, I'll suggest CheckROM.
I've used it as a daily all round rom juiced with latest siyah kernel.
No lags and no un necessary batterydrain.
Sorry for my bad english, as this is my first post to englis only forum in ages

I can understand your feeling friend but recommending Rom is a big no no here. No one would do it. Everyone has his own preferences. The Rom I like can't be someone else's favorite. Everyone here has tried many Rom before settling with any one Rom. That too only for few days. There are so many good Rom you would love to try YOURSELF. Read the changelogs. See the screenshots. Then decide what to try. Best of luck. Ask any further doubt you have.
One more thing. Don't say thanks. Press THANKS button on the left.

AW: Help with custom rom amd cm10
All cm10 based Roms do inherit their bugs.
The more extra features the rom has, the more extra bugs you will probably have.
Same goes for TW.
Complexity is the developers enemy!

I thought about it at first, but no. OP does not want camera bugs to be present, so it's clear all aosp roms are out of the question. Now it's on him to try out various TW-based roms, with which we will not help.

Quite frankly, this type of post above and "first" posts are the bane of my existence. They are about as useless as all the other spam out there, so I usually delete them on sight.
***************
@OP, I suggest you go into the Dev section and read a little. Pick out a few ROMs that look interesting to you. Then read the last 10 pages or so of each. Narrow it down to 1 or 2 that you like and read the OPs. Find one that you want to go with, then sit down, get a cold drink and start reading.
Make a Nandroid before you flash anything so that your next thread isn't "Help!! I bricked my phone".
