I am currently running XXDLJ4 4.1.1 and everytime I try to delete a contact I get a FC error.
Does anyone else have this issue?
If not maybe someone could help me out by uploading their seccontacts.apk and .odex from system apps. As mine might be corrupt......

I'm using the updated sprint stock rom and it was having issues with sms messaging and not marking text messages as being read in the thread view. Someone told me to install the attached .cab to fix the issue. I installed it and text message issue is fixed, but even worse, now I can't open any of my emails (gmail). I tried deleting the account and setting it back up to no avail.
Does anyone know how to undo what the attached cab changed? Or any other way to fix this?

why is that? any help? im currently on miui ics. this doesn't occur to me before.. it says on net(using pc): "There are no Android devices associated with this account."
but i could open and download some app in my SGS i9000. but having FC though, in pc, it couldn't.

I'm having this problem on incoming calls, just from certain contacts. Other contacts get through ok.
What happens is that the phone displays the message "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped", and I don't see who called and not a missed call. Sometimes even the error message closes by itself before I see it, so I don't know that there was a call.
To fix, I tried to wipe all data+cache+dalvik ache, didn't help. I reflashed a different rom, didn't help.
Recently I've synced my contacts to facebook with the Sync.ME app, and I suspect it might be the cause.
Any ideas on how I get my incoming calls work again?
First do a fullwipe again.
Then directly test it (not flash of another kernel or restore of any apps! )
Choose any Rom which should work for u.
Test it.
If anyway have problems, u should go back on a stock firmware and do a factory reset then.
Then test.
Uf this works now - root and flash Rom
again
Otherwise it's hardware (don't think so) or maybe account/Google related.
Much success and play give a short feedback.

Kinda tired of all the wipes/restores...
I will try to connect to LogCat via ADB and see if there's something suspicious.
Please tell me if you think of other ways to debug this.
U can try to fix permissions via CWM
And also u can try to replace the phone.apk from another one.
But because u already did a fullwipe, I think this won't help, that's why I gave u this recommendations .

problem fixed
This was caused by an old backup using BackMyTones, where the contacts weren't in sync with the ones existing in the google database (and phone).
Tried many things (like full wipe and one-by-one app installation like you suggested), but what I could have done to avoid a full wipe was detaching the google account to erase all contacts, then reattach it. This fixed things.

Hi, michaelitvin, I face the same problem. I deleted my google account and sign in again, but still no good.

maybe push another phone apk into system app and set permissions, and should work...

Long time reader, first time poster (hopefully in the right section). I am an absolute novice so please bear with me. I rooted my Razr M (XT905) to remove a bunch of the pre installed apps.
All worked fine and phone runs great. But I cant import my contacts from my google account. Gmail and app store syncing works fine, just contacts are missing.
When I access the options menu in the contact section, google isn't showing. When I look at the accounts in the settings menu, the google account is there and has the option checked to sync 'people details' (guessing this is the same as contacts).
So I'm guessing I've deleted something when removing the apps.
Any ideas as to what I might have done and how I can fix this?
Appreciate any help.

You should have a contacts sync option in Google acount. Maybe you deleted GoogleContacstSyncAdapter.apk or ContactsProvider.apk from /system/app folder

Which android version are you using? I'm attaching 4.4 version apks for you, but I'm not sure if it will work with previous Android versions. Put the apks in system/app folder (ContactsProvider should go to system/priv-app if you're on Android 4.4), change permissions to 644 (see attached image) and reboot.
If those don't work, try searching for apks from the same Android version as yours. You can find it in xda.
Please reply if it worked or not cause another user can try and help you too, but i hope it helps bro.

Thanks for the replies. Using 4.1.2.
When I've tried to copy the GoogleContactsSyncAdapter file using ES File Explorer, I get the message in the attached screenshot. How do I get around this?
Gotta mount the system as Read/Write(should be something similar to this: On the left hand panel "Tools->Root Explorer->Mount R/W" then pick your preferred options.) , and make sure to change the permissions once you move them there (here's a short little video guide - older ES, but same idea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hhXuQ0_B28).
I also hope you aren't trying to use the ones posted here for this as it surely won't work properly.
Did you make sure to see if you were actually missing those apps?

All good now. Flashed the pacman 4.4 update with the correct apps and all working.
Only problem now is wifi wont turn on. When I toggle it on, it stays grey and no networks are detected.
Any suggestions for this issue?
