Hey!
The Live Tiles on my device won't show me notifications. I know that the Facebook app still has problems but also other apps won't work. Even the store doesn't tell me about apps that need to be updated.
Of course all the settings are set to give me such notifications. Does anyone else have this problem?

Odd, all my notifications are coming up for live tiles

Sorry was me read it wrong theres no 'notification center' guess that means like the status bar on android.

Currently Windows 8/and WP7-8 are displaying notification numbers on the Tiles. However this causing major issues to keep up with your apps.
First you need to manually check every single Tile to see if there is any notification available for that specific app. The more apps you have the more tiles you need to follow manually in order to catch up with your stuff.
Second and most importantly. Many people are installing apps but they do not pin the Tile on the Start Screen. In that scenario it is impossible to get notifications for the specific app and yet in many cases people want to have the app installed but they do not need the tile visible all of the time in front of there faces, but they need to keep up with that app and its notifications which is impossible if they do not have the app's tile pinned in the Start Screen.
Third, the pop-up notifications are displayed ONCE and then they are gone for ever. It is almost impossible to remember them at a later time, if you do not click on them at the time they appeared.
Found this on Neowin
Hope it helps, as for me still waiting for mine to be delivered.

Thanks, but I got all the settings right. Still, there are no numbers on the Tiles. What else could be wrong there?

Hi, I've been using Hover for a bit and am loving it. The only slight gripe I have about it is that when I get a message through Facebook messenger, it always shows me the "chat heads active" notification before the actual message. What would be really useful is if you could blacklist these hidden (permanent? Not sure what the word is, see the attached picture) notifications that come from some apps (Google Now does it too) but still allow "normal" notifications through. This would also be really useful with peek: I'm assuming that whenever I get a Google Now notification like this, saying the weather or something my device is waking up to poll sensors etc. This isn't necessary, but I don't want to blacklist the whole app as other notifications (reminders etc.) are useful and I'd like to be able to Peek at.
Sorry if this doesn't make a lot of sense, it's rather hard to describe. I know hover and peek are relatively new features and I have no idea how hard this would be to implement, but if possible it would be great
Thanks for all your great work on this ROM!

Long hold notification > App Info > Blacklist > Blacklist from Hover/Blacklist from Peek
Sorry, got ahead of myself.
in fact the google now notification is not a persistent one, just it does show up very frequently, and sadly there is no option on which updates we'd like to receive
had the same problem with facebook messenger, just blacklisted the whole app because as there is a chat head hover notification would be useless
Hello guys, today i updated my phone to MM and i can't hide the persisten cell info notification like i did in LP. Anyone also having this problem?

A quick way to hide it (but you won't have even the name of your carrier on top, only on lock screen and notification panel) is to go:
Settings -> Sound & Notification -> App notifications
In there select "Cell Information" and choose "Block all".
With that you'll hide the antenna icon, although I'm not sure if there could be other notifications from that app.

What is the cell info notification? Is it the constant accessing sim one?
I have the same issue. There is no way to disable the cell information notification. Does anyone know how to hide it?
I'd really like to see this resolved as well. I know what mobile network I'm on, I don't need it permanently displayed as a notification.

What does that notification do after tapping it? (or holding and then tapping the "i" icon) ?

The only way to remove that notification is click on force stop but after to restart the device, the notification appears again in status bar. The option to block all notifications is not available as you can see. It's really annoying!
Maybe it's abvious, but try looking for it in the "all apps" and disable it? (Hopefully it won't drop your signal)
EDIT:
If you are on 6.0, look for it in "system apps".
EDIT2:
Gah! Sorry, I see that the disable option is unavaliable.
Anyway, is your phone branded? Or did you install a stock rom?

I've already tried to disable the app but that option also is not available because it's a system app.
" com.sonymobile.cellinformation.notification"
There is no such app on my 6.0.
I'd just try installing stock 6.0 (or 5.1.1 and update)

I think that is just in Latin American version that appears that notification, I had installed MM beta, and didn't appears. The version that I'm using now and see the notification is Customized GEL. 570

Maybe, that is the reason but we are not sure. I only know that Cell information notification is extremely annonying and sony must give us a solution as soon as possible.

It's a matter of software customization. LATAM version does have that (at least the generic one does). And it is annoying as hell. Especially since that notification doesn't really do anything. It's just there. Anyway, EU versions do not have that. Not sure about the US versions. So just go ahead and flash another firmware. That should fix it.
Also, I'm not sure Sony will give us any solution to this, since it's probably intended. But you can always contact the devs at Sony and ask them if they can implement an option to disable that notification in future updates.
The only solution right now is to force-close the app through Settings. The problem is, I can't find any way of doing that through any commands. ADB shell doesn't seem to allow a force-close in the same way it happens through settings - it is just a "kill" that regenerates the app shortly after. Thus I can't seem to figure out how to make it an auto task in something like Tasker with an ADB shell command.
Is there a way we can automatically make a macro action of some kind, of opening settings, scrolling to the appropriate areas, and force-closing the app upon startup? That would be an okay workaround for now.

I guess flashing another stock ROM to permanently get rid of that is too much?
Just thought I would share my no frills tasker project.
Simply, it activates AOD when selected notifications arrive. With the option to disable at certain times of the day, e.g. at night. When all selected notifications are cleared, AOD is disabled.
Currently I have it set up for textra, messages and Gmail, but you can add or remove programs easily from within the task.
You need tasker and tasker settings (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joaomgcd.taskersettings) installed to make it work.
Just hold your finger on the home button at the bottom of the tasker screen and import.
Also make sure tasker in enabled in the phone notification access settings.
Feel free to modify and post back any improvements if you like.
Definitely better than those apps that work half the time, i tried aodnotify and automate with aod addon's but both stop functioning after a day or so. Tasker should be foolproof.

Have you saved the changes to the profile, think they're is a tick in the to right. Also made sure the profiles are switch on. As the profiles are event based, they won't become active until all events in a profile are matched. It is possible to have 2 conflicting events in a profile that will never allow a profile to become active of any changes are made. There shouldn't be any conflicts in the uploaded project.

I have a locked and unrooted phone, and have not needed to give these permissions to tasker for these routines to work. I only had to install the Tasker Settings add on from the plat store to allows tasker to make this work. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joaomgcd.taskersettings

Thank you very much, exactly what I was looking for in the past. Much better than aodnotify that I paid for.
It works as it should be, but my question is that the aod display is different than what I choose (AOD style)
When I unlocked the device and lock it, it'll activate the AOD style that I already selected in system settings.
Thank you very much.
I've just tried to use this method but after following the steps written from earlier posts. I only get the " No active profiles." notification from tasker. Here are the steps I've taken:
1. installed tasker and tasker settings
2. enabled tasker to change system settings
3. imported the profile from the OP provided
4. turned the 2 profiles on after import
Is there anything I'm missing?
Tasker is possibly waiting for an event to happen to activate the profile. Have you tried sending your self a message, the switch of the screen before it arrives?
Yes I have. Unfortunately nothing happens. I've tried restarting my phone, reinstalled tasker and tasker settings and reimporting the profile. Same result. One thing I forgot to mention earlier is I am testing this on my S8 plus. I'm planning to upgrade to a s20 soon and saw a post about this from the s20 forums and thought I'd try this out as I'd really like to have Notification LeD alternative on my next phone coming from S8+.
Have the same 'no active profiles' thingie. Tried Tasker settings and adb but no go

You could try removing the apps in the notification setting in the 2 profiles and re selecting the apps you use. As far as I am aware the same command is used on the s8+ and the s10. Also make sure tasker is enabled in notification access in the phone settings
I've tried that as well. Same result, I get the notification "no active profile".

Just an update. I still get the no active profile notification from tasker. But I've decided to re-import tasker file one more time and got the always on display to work only when I wake up the screen after the new notification is received. Once those have been dismissed or read, the always on display will not wake up again for new notifications until I turn on the screen again. Is that how it is suppose to behave from tasker?

Several apps I have installed like to post momentary notifications when they perform something in the background (presumably so they don't get killed). These notifications bug the crap out of me and I'd like to disable their respective notification channels. However, they don't appear long enough for me to lower the notification shade and long press on them. So I have tried to determine what channel they come from using numerous notification history apps, but none of these apps have been able to show me what channel the notifications are from. Does anyone know of one of these apps that does show the channel or some other way to determine what channel the notifications come from?

Hi,
Maybe you could try to check in the stock notification history. To find it go to widgets and create a setting shortcut. There will be a list which will contain "Notification Log" or smt like that. Create the shortcut and when you'll see those fast notification just check your history right away. In the best case you'll find the channel, but if you're not lucky, you'll still got the app that does it and turn all its notification off (if it is really annoying)
Have a good day

I'm on Samsung Galaxy S20+ so the settings shortcut doesn't work. I have no difficulty getting the offending application, there are dozens of apps that will show a notification history, but I've been unable to find one that shows the notification channel.

If the settings shortcut method doesn't work, I don't have any other alternatives. I've never heard of an app that could retrieve the Channel, but I knew that it was possible to have the Channel ID in the notification log. In Android 11, this "notification history" feature will be added, and you'll have much more infos than right now.
Use the good lock app "Nice Catch".
Installed Miui 12 eu rom, now notifications are sorted by time instead of priority...
I have many persistent notifications and I intentionally set priority to minimal / 'trivial' so they stay at the bottom
I now have to search the notifications in the list and it's annoying.
Anyway to get it to the way it was?

Not sure it made any difference.
Some of the apps did however stop "refreshing" their notifications and jumping to the top after a couple of times I opened them.
Some asked for permissions again...
There is just 1-2 apps that still do this.
ended up using Mi control center app

Thanks for sharing. I have my first MIUI phone (coming from stock Android) and notifications in MIUI were driving me nuts. This app seems to return the stock Android behavior, hopefully there are no issues with it.
I still wish MIUI would honor the notification priority, what sense does it make to have silent notifications otherwise..
I am sorry for asking if it sounds silly, but how do we adjust priorities of notifications from different apps? Like I want some apps like text messages and missed calls etc to show on top of others in the list.
One more question, in Oxygen OS there was a feature of silent notifications, they were separated from the rest of the notifications by a neat divider labeled other notifications, they were collapsed by default and did not make a sound or splash. Can this be achieved in MIUI 12?
