Hi,
So I've got an xperia x10, and it was still running 1.6 so I wanted to upgrade it. So I went on the phone, selected software update (in settings -> about phone) and pressed update (didn't use any SE update tools on the PC). It started downloading the update, and after that it rebootet and started installing the update. At the last step however, this comes up:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And this happens every time I try rebooting the phone, so I cannot start the phone.
Now I've tried several things:
- Repair phone using PC pc companion
Result: No update avaiable
- Update via SE update service
Result: You already have the newest software
- Flash via x10 flash tool ()
It says "Start flashing" but then nothing happens - seems like it doesn't
connect properly
It does seems like the phone boot into flashing mode when I try, at least the SE tools continues after I start the phone in flash mode (screen is just black but the green LED is on).
So is there anyway I can repair my phone? (I'm afraid I cannot go to a store and make them do it, I got the phone from previous workplace)
Thanks for any help!
I cannot flash via the flashtool you link to I'm afraid. Already tired that, I get this error:

Yes, still no luck.
The Sony Xperia Z1 is already an excellent smartphone, but if you want to take things up a notch, such as installing the mod for 4K video or uninstalling pre-loaded system applications, then you're going to need root. In this tutorial we'll walk you through the procedure for rooting the Xperia Z1.

}
Warning
As always, getting root is risky: if you do not follow the procedure properly, you can end up with an unusable phone. Neither XDA or myself will be held responsible for anything that may go wrong. :fingers-crossed:
This method is valid ONLY for Sony Xperia Z1 C6903 under 14.3.A.0.757 firmware (Android 4.4.2).
Prerequisites
Xperia Z1 drivers properly installed on your computer
Android 4.4.2 KitKat installed, firmware number 14.3.A.0.757
Bootloader unlocked Xperia Z1 (see more information on Sony's support page)
How to root the Xperia Z1
1. Download and install Flashtool 0.9.16.0 (GOOGLE IT)
2. Download Doomlord's Advanced Stock Kernel
(GOOGLE IT) and unzip the archive.
3. Start FlashTool, turn off the Xperia Z1 and connect the Z1 to your PC via USB cable while holding the Volume Up button. This will get you to Fastboot mode.
4. In FlashTool, click the lightning icon and select Fastboot flash. In the next pop-up screen – Fastboot Toolbox – click ''select kernel to flash'' in the column labelled ''by Doomlord''. Navigate the boot.img file that was in the zip file above.
5. Once the kernel has been successfully flashed, restart your smartphone and download SuperSU from the Google Play Store.

Downgrade to 17.1.2.A.0.314, it is still available on XperiFirm. Almost all Android firmwares have all available Languages, so don't worry.

U can download the FTF from here..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2759934
Use flashtool to flash it.. Enjoy
download this file : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1Hl8DtRlLLmRVhwTlpnVnRfT1E/edit?usp=sharing (d6503) provided by @superfire71
Download Flashtool : Click me
Download And Install Flashtool Drivers (Flashmode , Fastboot, Xperia Z2 Drivers ) then reboot : Click me
now for the installation process
Place the .ftf file in C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\.flashTool\firmwares
Open FlashTool
click this

Choose Flashmode
then you'll have this
Check USERDATA (you'll lose your data but it's very recommended)
Click Flash and wait a little , after a while it will show you how to connect your phone in flashmode , just do that and the flashing process will start
When it's done you can un-plug and turn on your device
If you have any errors , Re install FlashTool drivers then reboot , install adb from the attatchment then install and reboot

I've connected my Sony Xperia Z5 Compact ES823 to the computer, but it doesn't detect the device. I've downloaded Xperia_Z5_Compact_driver.zip but no luck.

well to be honest I never used this method to install drivers to my device for couple reasons: ( i do use this method to other devices some times though)
1) there is no need to do this if you are only planning to be able to see the folders and files in your computer (connect in MTP mode) it doesnt require driver -> windows should automatically do it whether its windows 7 or 10. check your wifi or some thing.
2) I use sony PC companion , now they call it "Xperia companion" it installs drivers once you install the EXE file so yah...
try to right click on it and update via windows update (install drivers using windows update option) and if still didnt workout, delete the driver with the warning sign next to it and disconnect your phone and reconnect it again and clean install the drivers.
tell me how does that work out for you
Can you help me with something, i want to put new firmware on phone, what to select or not to select a thing, i want full wipe of everything

as you see there are two colums with 2 windows each
left colum is what to wipe
right colum is what is going to be installed
so when flashing ftf you need to wipe every thing which means the left side options should all be ticked in both windows except master reset I guess but once I tried 2 times to tick it and not to tick it, i havent seen any difference but i perfer ticking every thing
Hi everyone!
Not sure if this is in the right category so i apologize..
I've got Marshmallow (rooted, xposed..) and before i wanted to update it to Nougat i made a hard reset so i start from beginning with Nougat.
In Flashtool while flashing there was error and there was one info that said USB debugging must be on.. Great, now i can't even boot my phone.. After some tryings there is no more Update failed message while trying to boot it but just Sony logo stays forever...
Please help me coz i don't know what to do anymore, i need my phone ofc... Thank You!..

P.S. Xperia Companion Software Repair doesn't work coz bootloader was unlocked..
download the latest flashtool
http://www.flashtool.net/index.php
use the built in xperifirm button to go grab the right software for your phone, then flash it in flashmode. The tool tells you when it's ready and tells you what to do. (phone powered off, connect usb cable while holding vol-down WHEN PROMPTED)
You can leave all the options default on the firmware selector screen, though you may wish to tick the "USERDATA" box under wipe if you want to start fresh.
