[Q] CM10 and AOKP - HTC One X+

So since the HOX+ has a tegra 3 do we think CM10 and AOKP will eventually be ported?

I am also interested in this but I think it should be possible, since they are already working on the HTC One X and XL and already have nightly builds.
Or do you think that the quad core is posing any problems to this matter?

simple answer is yes, 1st CWM\TWRP are needed so you guys can flash the rom's properly...i will most likely port CM10 if and when i get the device

I am getting mine in the mail tomorrow. Is there a root method proven to work on the AT&T model yet?

What would you want to dual boot? I know there are other devices out there that dual boot, but the reason being is so they can run android. And we are obviously already on android. I don't think you'll find anyone who is going to port over WP7 or WebOS to our phones. That would be a lot of work and our devs are already busy with getting JB stable

With dual boot, wouldn't you be able to run ICS and JB for example? It would be useful to try the new JB ROMs without losing the stability of the previous ROM you were using, and without the need to nandroid everytime.

The thing is.. there is no unstability in JB Roms. Not even the first build FE put out was unstable. Sure, some things did not work, but now mostly everything works. GPS/911 has been hit or miss on anything but Froyo.
Everything else pretty much just works as it did in ICS.
I don't see a purpose in having dual boot, the ONLY reason I would see it is if I wanted to switch between ROMS just to try each one out, which is already possible through nandroid.

Thats what I explained.
You can EASILY do a nandroid backup of your permanent ROM- and go between your perm. and exper. ROMs.
It takes about ~5mins to restore each ROM

[Q] New GS4 - ?

I know I probably haven't searched hard enough, but if I were to buy my wife a new GS4 for the holidays. Would it be rootable and would I be able to install CM on it.
I know with each update verizon puts out there are new obstacles to over come, just haven't been paying attention recently.
Thanks in advance, and sorry if the post is repetitive

You should be able to root assuming there isn't a new update out by then that blocks roots (it should be achievable afterwards eventually though). There are no custom recoveries nor any in sight currently so you would not be able to install CM. The Safestrap method that works on 4.2.2 also doesn't work with AOSP based roms (which CM is).

So would be able to achieve root, but would only be able to install custom roms based on TouchWiz?
Is the recovery issue due to the boot loader not being able to be unlocked? Just curious.
The newest firmware can't get a recovery at all, the couple versions before it can use the safestrap method to get touchwiz roms. Yes it's due to the bootloader.

Last question, and thanks for responding so readily.
I have had my wife on CM since Gingerbread, would the best CM option be (while not being an expensive dev phone) be a HTC One then?
(will try to find a CM specific forum next)

I believe the One does have s-off now, which is an htc thing for having an unlocked bootloader. I'm not sure though you'll have to check their forum.
As far as other flagships on Verizon, the Note 3 & Moto X can't get CM yet, but I think the LG G2 can. Not sure about the Droid series.

It is very doubtful you will ever see kitkat. it also depends on whether there is a recovery that can flash it.
Sent from my One using Tapatalk
I've been on my wife's gnexus running kitkat and the very latest kernels for a few days and I can tell you it's got nothing on good ol' Thundershed/Leankernel 6.2. I think I've flashed everything available for the tbolt and that is the best for me....by far!

its very possible with the few 3.0 kernels we have floating around, compiling the latest clockwork mod would be the easiest step, but I don't know of any developers up to do it, I just got a new computer so I might, oh & I could guarantee that the data wouldn't work lol
I'd just be happy to find an active host that I can DL the stock, debloated ICS ROM. Or CM 10.1 or CM 10.2. I can't believe that I can't find a single place to DL from.

[Q] Root for AT&T variant G850A?

Is anyone working on a root for the AT&T variant of the Alpha? Please and Thank you.
Been waiting for a root as well. Hopefully a developer will come up with one soon. Loving the phone.
Yes, anything to allow me to remove the stock bloatware and install a proper adblocker. Surprisingly this variant of Touchwiz isn't all that bad though, at least.

I agree. Just want the Root and recovery. I heard that Devs are having a hard time because of the CPU.

Which CPU? Doesn't the AT&T version have a Snapdragon 801? I thought dealing with that CPU is easier than dealing with the Exynos.
Yes, waiting as well. Got my Alpha (G850A) as a replacement for my Galaxy 3.

still no chances for root? after buying a oneplus one im now ready to experiment(wont be too upset if i brick it) on the alpha if anyone has any sketchy ideas for root on att alpha
Isnt all ATT phone are bootloader lock? That means you cannot install things like TWRP. If you cant install TWRP, then you cant install any cook roms. Correct me.
That is why people buy T-mobile phone to use on ATT.

At this point, since the phone is not well supported, there are no chances for root.

Awfully big file for a security update.... 379mb. May be more than that..... 5.1.1 possibly....

Yes I would rather have root to but don't see it happening

Anything on how to unlock the bootloader/Install Cyanogen 13 on S4?

I've done a **** ton of research for about 2 months now, and have come up with this
1) Verizon/AT&T/Samsung are the worst companies in existence.
2) I'm doomed to have ****ty lollipop for the rest of my S4's existence.
3) Unlocking the bootloader is completely impossible as of what I've read.
4) Not a lot is said about the S4 anymore, since it's so old.
Anyway. I'm trying to collect info for the S4, since jumping from thread to thread for hours on end is giving me a headache. My questions are
1) Has ANYONE come close to unlocking the bootloader on an S4 as of June 2016
2) If not, Has anyone come close to getting Cyanogen 13 working with safestrap? Or a varient of Cyanogen? (I know it doesnt work because it needs to be TouchWiz based)
3) If Cyanogen 13 ( Or a touchwiz variant) doesn't work. Is there a safestrap compatible rom that looks/feels like marshmallow?
4) If THAT isn't a thing. Can I make one?
Sorry If I'm breaking any rules (I'm about 99% sure I'm not but like to apologize anyway), but I am really tired of jumping forums, getting a headache, and ripping my hair out, just to hardbrick my phone. Thanks!
Edit: I have the Verizon S4 (I545). Should've mentioned that My bad.
If you researched hard enough to give yourself a headache how did you manage to not notice a post of this same question in the last week inside of the official Unlocking the Bootloader thread.

I did see that, and read through it. But, unless I'm blind/stupid, It never said how to unlock the bootloader. Just discussed what we can do to figure it out.

There's your answer. It hasn't been unlocked, and it will most likely not be unlocked as all devs have given up.

They have been answered already.
1) Has ANYONE come close to unlocking the bootloader on an S4 as of June 2016
Nope
2) If not, Has anyone come close to getting Cyanogen 13 working with safestrap? Or a varient of Cyanogen? (I know it doesnt work because it needs to be TouchWiz based)
Nope, as stated by yourself above, it needs to be TW based, and there is no way that can happen.
3) If Cyanogen 13 ( Or a touchwiz variant) doesn't work. Is there a safestrap compatible rom that looks/feels like marshmallow?
The last AOSP type ROM was kitpop, which is at lollipop. Due to Samsung messing with ART, the dev attempting to do so had to abort as the changes could not be negated
4) If THAT isn't a thing. Can I make one?
Theoretically... @npjohnson would be the one to ask for help if you think you could do it.
