Hi all,
I was wondering if I'm the only one with this problem. On every single jellybean rom I've ran I get a gallery force close after several pictures and even more with the front camera. I did a full restore/wipe and then cleared cache and dalvik cache and also ran a kernel cleaner every time I flashed a new rom. But every time its the same. Now the weird thing is this does not happen on ICS.

Yes, after I noticed that this problem was occurring I tested the camera before I restored anything. But alas the problem still occurs.

No issues here with gallery or camera on CM10 or AOKP for me. Which gapps did you flash after installing the ROM? If you flashed either CM10 or AOKP then I would make sure you flashed the Jelly Bean gapps and NOT the ICS version.

Yup, I've flashed the correct gapps for each one. I also checked if it was the current version of gapps and yes it is.

I've done that numerous times. It works for like 6 pictures then force closes again. I have also noticed that the gallery crahese much faster when you take one picture with the back then the front. i
When you say your full wiping what are you doing? Alot of people have no idea what a real full wipe is.

A full wipe is a wipe of both sd cards the internal and external. I've done that too. A wipe/factory reset just wipes the phones info and apps but leaves personal items alone (pictures, music, etc.).

MAKE A NANDROID
wipe data/factory reset in recovery

I have been trying all your ported ROMs and am gonna try this as well (except for paranoid, dislike tablet mode for a blind bat like me )
A quick question, how's the bluetooth A2DP function? Can it work with my car audio system as RootBox couldn't but RR is ok.. but RR battery drains faster than I blink... something went so wrong that within 10 mins and after a couple of restarts, the battery dropped 30% from 50% to 19%. Scary isn't it?
Btw.. the download link is really SLOW..

The Download link is fine just got a 3-4 min ETA on a 346 MB file then canceled. I am not sure about A2DP on this ROM as I have not tested it and generally only use it on my One X as my i777 is my secondary. That battery drop is unusual try re-calibrating your battery(take it in and out).

Hi.
I just got my GTab 7510 Wifi Only.
I'd like to install a CustomRom. On my Galaxy Nexus the Rubik ROM - PA with Linaro is working quite excellent.
As far as I have seen, there is no PA for the GTab.
Could you give me some hints, which (JB or not JB) Roms are good and well compiled and which to sort out?
Thank you
There is PA for galaxy tab. @kasper_h compiled it for us, but its currently in alpha stage. If you want to try it out, its in the development section. As for which ROM is the best, try them yourself. Everyone of them are great ROMs. Good luck.

Ive been running some 4.2.2 ROM's but just yesterday I flashed this one..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2055062
It's an ICS ROM so you may not get all the bells and whistles as an AOKP 4.2.2 but my opinion is this one is extremely smooth. The JB ROM's Ive tried were nice but didnt seem to be as smooth. Just my opinion
I'm running CM 10.1 on my tab and it's pretty good so far, but there are a few glitches, such as google now not working properly unless you uninstall the updates. Kind of a bummer, but I have google now on my phone so its not a huge deal. Other than that it's fairly smooth, a little glitchy here and there, but it doesn't bother me.
Prior to this I had CM 10 loaded on there and that was very smooth with no glitches whatsoever, but it doesn't have some of the features that 10.1 has obviously.

I originally had the goo.im gapps which had the faulty google now. I then heard that the wingray gapps have a working google now even when updating the app, so I completely wiped my system and installed the wingray gapps along with reflashing cm 10.1. If I did something wrong, or if you know of a different gapps that does work please let me know. I would really like to have a fully functioning gapps, and it would certainly benefit the OP as well

I have installed Carbon from kaspar right now, but I must say... I am a bit disappointed.

Could you tell me the difference between Infamous 4.0.4 and Carbon 4.2?
Both seem to have the same kernel, but the difference between 404 and 42?

Well...Kasper did say that carbon is still in alpha stage. There is a sh*tload of difference between infamous and carbon. Infamous is touchwiz based, carbon is aosp based. The kernel is different. The Infamous kernel is an older version of Mackay kernel, carbon uses the latest Mackay kernel by Kasper.

Hi @eushaun99 , could I ask if you know the difference between the Infamous AOKP (JB) and Carbon (now currently in Beta). I'm now on Carbon Beta with my p7500. I was previously on CM10.1 and I do find Carbon less laggy than CM10.1..the nightly I was on previously was very laggy in fact. But currently my GPS doesn't seem to work..or takes ages to get a fix on Carbon. Same problem on the previous CM10.1 also. Any chance it works better on Infamous AOKP?

Infamous AOKP is AOKP-based. Carbon is actually a mixture of CyanogenMod, AOKP and ParanoidAndroid. So in Carbon you get all the special features from all 3 ROMs. For your GPS problem, I honestly don't know.

@eushaun99 Thanks so much! I hope you don't mind me asking you more qns:
1) What rom are you using now for p7500? Why did you pick that rom in the end?
2) I realise now that I didn't do a full clean install. I did not format system under "mounts and storage". Can I check with you, where do I save the rom zip and the gapps zip so that it's safe even when I do the wipe data and format system.Currently I put the rom zip and gapps zip into the sdcard folder which is in / (which I understand refers to my internal sd). What folder does format system clean? Is it just the "system" folder?
thanks in advance!

1) I'm using InfamousAOKP right now. For me, its one of the best ROM available for our tab. Smooth, silky, great battery life. Also I love the fact that AOKP has an option for a dark-themed ROM. Makes my keyboard look so damn nice.
2) The downloaded files will be stored in /data/media which is symlinked to /sdcard, not /. If you format system, only /system will be wiped. If you format data, everything in /data will be wiped except /data/media, so don't worry.

I just flashed to Infamous AOKP last night. It was a clean flash with system wipe and factory reset but I now get a System UIDs do not match error when booting up. It still manages to get to home screen once I click "I'm feeling lucky" (which is the only option when the error msg pops up anyway). But my GPS is still not working. It wasn't working properly on Carbon rom either (took ages to detect and kept losing signal) or CM 10.1.

whenever i install a 4.2 rom the same problems occur, camera says no external storage available and so does gallery and playstore just force closes
I had this problem n solved it.
This is strange but trust me!
I guess your using a blade42 kernel for aokp etc?! Flash a cm10 kernel, wipe cache and dalvik. Wait for optimizing apps to finish n it will get stuck on starting android or something like that. After a min or two reboot into bootloader n flash the latest blade42, wipe cache and dalvik then reboot.
Done
I had this n no matter how many different blade42 kernels I tried they were all the same. I had a feeling there was a problem changing kernels, just a hunch, I assumed that forcing the phone to change wrongly to a cm10 kernel made the phone make a better job of changing back to the correct kernel.
If you get what I mean!
Anyway try the cm10 idea

Reading the thread from which you installed the 4.2 ROM really helps!
Trust me on this!!!!
This 'problem' has been reported at least 1000 times and the solution is within the first 3 or 4 posts on each and every 4.2 thread!

Anyway try the cm10 idea

nothing to do with kernels, all to do with the rom's and reading the F&Q of CM10.1\AOKP

It is because you did not create the 0 folder...
Reading the thread from which you installed the 4.2 ROM really helps!
Trust me on this!!!!
This 'problem' has been reported at least 1000 times and the solution is within the first 3 or 4 posts on each and every 4.2 thread!

I already had the 0 folder. I had been successfully using 4.2 ROMs for a little while. It wasn't until I updated my kernel that the problem started. Then eventually even the origional kernel (that worked) started to say no storage. The only way it got solved was the way I mentioned.

Im not sure what the cause is/was. As I say above, the 0 folder is there and I could only sort it that one way.
Sorry if this is a stupid question but what is the f&q

Ditto.
I carefully followed the instructions for the AOKP 4.2.2 - 2.0k installation. It all runs fine, I have the data/media/0 folder (i checked in TWRP), but my apps keep telling me there is no external storage.
Perhaps someone could point me at ANOTHER FAQ that I might have missed.
Ta,
Fitz.

Just need to know one thing, after you created the 0 folder - did you copy the items in SDCARD/ to the 0 folder?
Also, if possible - always use the boot.img which is inside the ROM...

Second bit first, yes I did use he boot.img from the ROM....
As to copying stuff, no I didn't because there wasn't anything in it I wanted, this is my "mess about and break" phone.
My issue wasnt as much "where's all my stuffs gone???????!!!!!!!!!1111111oneone" as "my camera app keeps ending because it can't see anywhere to store pictures"
Thanks for the input folks. Shall install revolution HD, make some files, make a 0 dir, copy those files into it, flash AOKP and report back...!

Pretty weird, I have tried both Carbon & CM 10.1 by loir - these issues were not there....
Could you try reflashing the ROM & Kernel again, if you have spare time

All sorted now, thanks mate.
Hello everyone,
For some reason my phone won't switch to ART as I really want to try it out. I'm running CM11 latest nightly. CM kernel. No mods or anything.
This is my second attempt and it just seems to be booting forever. I've already got an answer in the CM thread and was told to wait a few more minutes. That time it took was already 30 minutes so restored a backup.
Trying it again right now but don't have my hope set to high.
Any information, input, ideas?
Thanks!
ART is an experimental feature, work in progress... To make it work you'll need full wipe, flash ROM, you'll need proper GApps that is compatible with the ROM. Many apps are incompatible with ART, there will be issues for sure. I'd suggest you to stick with Dalvik for a while. KitKat is a big improvement even with Dalvik!
