Has to verify through Motorola, so unless you can slip one by them it won't work.

I did nothing, but flash the rom by fastboot, and get the settings.db under motorola.android.provider.settings modded. set agps_enabled to 1
Oh yeah, I did do something, I used Build.prop from someone else to get Blur working.

hmmm. same situation as yours happened to me before as my phone is running 1.8.3, I have no idea how to solve it. I just reflash te rom (no factory reset), and remod it again.
if you notice your gps works better keep it =P

this one no!
The builds Motorola use are shared across multiple devices. It's just like when references to the Atrix in the GB for the Droid X were found.
I'm on 2.3.4, unlocked and rooted - but the APNs are all still locked.
Is that supposed to be the case? How do I unlock them?
You know, until you mentioned it, I didn't even realize that they were locked for me too.
How the heck *do* you unlock them? Is root not enough?

Apparently not. I think some of the more in depth root utilities like GladRoot might have done it. But apparently, the preinstall file we use for 2.3.4 doesn't.
Does anyone know how to do this?

You need to use a db editor (sqlite editor). In the telephony.db, make sure that the record that you want to edit freely has "preloaded" field set to false. Now go back to the phone apn settings and notice that the little lock icon shows as unlocked

Hehe, not sure. I never noticed anyone specifically ask for this info, so it never occurred to me to mention it before. It's not something I read, it's just one of those things that I came across as I investigate/mod/tweak my phone
im curious is to why when i go to the settings, about phone, software update... the phone says application software update has stopped unexpectedly, pls try again.
This has happened ever since I upgraded to xxki4...

Ding ding ding ding ding !
You're the 136,794,308th person to ask this inane question on XDA. Accordingly, Samsung have advised there will now be no official ICS firmware released for the SGS2, ever. Nor will there be any source code whatsoever released (which means CM9 won't be progressing from its current alpha build status, also ever).
Are you happy now ?
Also, you made the Baby Jebus cry.

Lookout Security keeps throwing up a notification that says the following:

When I click OK, though, it just takes me to a list of applications, with no further guidance about which app it is. Anyone know what this is, what it means, and how to rectify it?

Is rooting the device the only way to get rid of this? Is there a way without root to disable this?
if you are with sprint, if you read the Sprint TOS that you signed when you got the phone it says that rooting will not void your warranty they just ask that u put it back to stock when upgrading or having service done to it. Who has ever went to upgrade their phone and the rep put it in to download mode to check something like that? And when I had my s2 rooted and needed service on the ear piece I just left cm 10 and all my stuff just the way it was and they never said anything to me about it.

I forgot to move my rooted tether app from my home screen and took it for service. The rep looked down, looked up at me, and went to a different screen to work from. Classic.
yeah, when I went to Sprint to have my last phone looked at, the rep asked me point blank if the phone was rooted -- but it was not in an accusatory way, it was more a "I need to know for the purposes of what I'm doing." Did not get the sense from the way she asked that it would have made a bit of difference to her in terms of whether they would still work on the phone.
As an aside, does anyone know what exactly could be causing the alert? It popped up when I was logged onto an airport wifi network, which gives me some concern.

It is a known issue, not by Lookout, but Knox AND a fix is coming from Sprint. Many threads to be found.

Not just you. A lot of folks think it's Lookout. Just letting you know the info is out there.
I have a tough time getting reasonable search results on the forum, but that's just me. I do search anyway, every time.
I just don't want to ship it anywhere or give it to someone else.
How do you like the Pixel compared to the V10? Better, worse?
How is the Pixel?

To be honest, yes but as long as the phone doesn't brick, it's all right, like factory resets and data loss is okay
