I got a message a while back in Google Now asking me "Do you care about this place?" and at that time I said NO. Google Now then indicates that it will no longer notify me about this place and that is done. However has anyone figured out how to undo this? What if I change my mind and now I do want to know about travel time to this place? I searched everywhere but couldn't find anything. I am thinking that clearing my location history might be the only solution, but I don't want to loose all this data.
Anyone have any ideas?

I know this is somewhat old but I can't find an answer to this anywhere. I've seen a few other places where people are asking the same thing. Does anyone know if this can be manually fixed, or if it maybe resets when you start visiting that place more often?

im back.. i gave up on re-branding my phone... im still stuck with it..
I might just keep it but i just want 1 thing to work properly!!!!!!
every time i search for something my default location is UK!!!!!! i want it to search my location!!!!!
im pretty sure it has something to do with the rooting i used. can someone guide me please. thanks.
What settings do you have in "settings"; "location services & data use"
So a couple of days ago I updated to UEKME via PhantomHacker's StarBurst ROM, and right afterwards I noticed I continued to receive OTA update notifications from my Samsung account. So of course my first step was to change the settings in that account so that the device no longer looked for updates, however it appears that the update had already been downloaded or received. So then I started thinking, maybe if I could just find that downloaded update file, I could delete it and fix the issue that way. But after exhaustive searches, I have no idea where such a file could be. And of course all the while, I continue to get those damn annoying update popup notifications, with no way of stopping them.
Has anyone else either 1) encountered the same problem, or 2) know where the downloaded update file could be or what it might be named? Someone in another thread said it would be in the root of the SD card, but that I can confirm is not the case. And I performed a full system search of the term "update" and found no file, so that's why I'm wondering what exactly that file's name might actually be.
I'm looking for an answer to this as well. Thanks.

Cool, at least I'm not the only one having this problem!
Just an idea... since you use Starburst you don't need OTA anymore.
What happens if you remove the Samsung account, do you still get update notifications?
I have the exact same issue. The update downloaded before I flashed the custom ROM, so it keeps letting me know that an update has been downloaded and if it should be applied. Even if I hit do not remind me, it still pops up.
I think finding the update data and deleting it would solve this problem. Problem is, nobody seems to know where the update data is downloaded to. I've asked in a couple of different threads, but no dice so far.
Let's hope someone comes through with an answer

Ok well I'm giving this a shot, only I've found that one can't just delete the Samsung account in the more obvious fashion, that is by going to Settings-->Accounts and sync and simply deleting the account there (in fact it is not possible to do it this way, it simply won't let you as apparently "other programs" are using the account). Instead, using Titanium Backup I located the app called "Samsung account" and uninstalled that app. I have now done that, and (so far) I haven't gotten another update notification. But I'll give it more time and will report back with my findings over the coming hours/days.
Not sure 100%, but if you stop the Software Update service you should be able to remove the account. Or the radical way, you can remove all accounts with Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset.
Ah crap, well after removing the account (i.e., uninstalling "Samsung account" app), about 2 hours later I awakened my tab only to find that damned update notification pop up, so obviously that didn't work at all. I guess we are now just stuck with waiting to see if someone can actually find the correct file that one must delete in order to stop this incredibly annoying and frustrating phenomenon from occurring. Damn.
One more little thing I'm now trying - while looking through things again in Titanium, I found another apk that I believe was called "Software updater" or something similar to that, so I've tried uninstalling that using Titanium. I have since rebooted and have the tab running, so as with earlier I'll keep checking in on it to see if the update notification comes back, or if by some miracle this fixes it. Fingers crossed, because after this I'm going to begin getting ready for a full wipe and build things back up from scratch.
UPDATE: things might be headed in the right direction after all. Before uninstalling this particular apk (the Software Updater), I used to be able to reproduce the typical "software update successfully received - do you want to install?" popup by going to Settings-->About tablet-->Software update-->Update, and when I'd click "Update" I'd get the notification...but now when I try it, it does absolutely nothing. So I have a feeling this might have done it. So again basically I have killed both the Samsung Account apk and the Software updater apk (uninstalled them, that is, using TB). If I don't get another popup by tomorrow morning, we can consider this a success....
Ya, I thought so. I still want to know where the updates are stored. There must be a file written somewhere and when that file is present the update is trigerred.

Agreed, you're right that has got to be the case, but where is the million dollar question. But so far so good at my end with the removal of the Software Updater app
FIXED
I think I can now confirm that the problem is fixed. The key is apparently uninstalling the "Software Updater" app using Titanium Backup. I also removed the "Samsung Account" app in the same way, but the Updater program seemed to be the real key (but I would still remove the Account app since obviously you don't need it). Good luck!

ALRIGHT. So, I don't think I've ever posted in here before, but I've been trying to think of ideas...
I got my phone stolen a while ago, and now it's turning up on my google Play as a Rogers when it was a Bell... Rogers doesn't have a I9000m, so somehow it's working with that, I assume the dude didn't wipe it and just unlocked it, so my gmail account is still able to access it...
SO, I'm wondering if there's a way to track it. I can't seem to use any apps that work in Canada.
But I've also used KIES with it, so is there like... maybe a way to find out some cached or saved app data that I can extract that identifies my phone? Like the IMEI or something?
I've tried numerous things but so far to no avail. I just need the IMEI, really. I can try to track it down from there.
Anything would be useful.

Well I'd say this would be better in the greater general or q and a on the site, but for the imei, you had to have memorized it to know. Ask Google to see if they can track your account transactions and where they are.

try Google this "find lost android phone"
hi, i know i can back up and manually upload to another phone but what im looking for is keeping texts constantly in sync. the idea being that i want to use one phone most of the time but for some occasions id like to swap the sim cards over into the other device.
i am aware that supposedly this functionality is baked into google voice but since im not american it doesnt work and hence not an option.
so is there something that would do this?

I need your help. For days I've been trying to access my Google Account that created my dad on the z5c. Since I did not remember the pin of the screen unlock I did a hard reset flashing the latest version downloaded by xperiafirm. But when I turned on, I was asked for my Google Account again. For days now I am trying to retrieve my password, but I can not do it. I read the same discussion on a z5, but there was no solution because it was assumed to be a stolen cell phone, the same thing that Google believes for mine I suppose...
Unfortunately, I passed the account I used on my xzp and done it, after which my father created another account on the z5c, leaving it unused for a couple of months. And now that I wanted to use it as a second phone I can not access it anymore. Is there any solution that you will not continue to try to unnecessarily restore your account from the Google page? Unfortunately they do not even have a telephone help, they only have a forum support center in which I keep saying that I must insist on trying to recover password ... I hope in a solution.
I don't get it... a full flash process is supposed to erase everything, so the prompt should ask you to sign-in or create a new account. Am I missing something ?

It asks to sign in with my account witch I'have forgotten password...
okay, but according to what you wrote, it seems that you're stuck at the prompt. If you can't create a new account, you are likely trying to access to a locked phone, meaning it might be stolen actually (and of course you probably did not flash it). If it is really yours, you can recover your password. Otherwise, nothing can help.

I apologize for my clarity. I'm trying to retrieve the password through the Google passes for several days, but with no results. The phone is mine, then given to my dad when i bought xz premium, he created this new account forgot the passwords and left for 3 or 4 months unused. Now I can not retrieve that password, although I'm always connected to the same WiFi network and I do not understand why Google does not recognize me as a proprietor, I tried to contact them in the forum where they do "help" but they tell me that l The only way is to endlessly try their questions
don't apologize, you're welcome. The fact is that, if you're not able to recover the password, nothing on the world would do a miracle. I'm sorry if you have some datas that you would get back, but the only solution for you is to create a new account. Don't waste your time trying to sign in.

Ahaha thank you bro :highfive:
No, the point is that I do not care about the data because there was nothing apart from music saved by my father. Also because before I gave it I reset the phone and then he created this new account. The point is, Google does not make me create a new account, but wants that created by my father.
If someone needs them, I've resolved doing the downgrade to Android 5 lollipop ?.
