Service centre or try reading all the identical no IMEI/EFS posts .
But first factory reset and flash a stock rom .

I'm in the same situation as this guyhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1995575 the only questions is what is my stock firmware. I used kies to determine my stock room but it keeps coming out with "Initialised Version PDA:LIH / PHONE:LID / CSC:LI2 (02I)" that couldnt be my stock rooms as its's the new jelly bean firmware.

How can I do that?
Read the basics before you flash any rom or mod .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1927113
Your IMEI should match under the battery if you have wrong then restore your backed up EFS folder . If you failed then its a samsung job .
If you did not flash firmware for your region then the modem and or CSC may not be compatible .
Suggest you restore your original saved firmware .

No Network SIgnal

Hello,
My problem is very big.
I flashed my S3 back to CM10.1, and now i have not signal.
My IMEI is the IMEI from the first day.
I Have not signal on Stock or other Roms, what is the problem?
I have a ktool EFS backup.
Have you the correct modem and CSC for your network ???
Did you configure your network settings .
No signal suggests wrong IMEI .
Damaged EFS folder = restore your EFS backup
Or a hardware problem return to service .

All are correct, i would return it..

Bearing in mind that you have no warranty with root custom rom and rom counter above zero.
See return for warranty how to posts .
jje
flash the stock ROM with the correct modem first
This?

I don't know, whatever the latest firmware is. Make sure the csc is correct and try different modems
Where i get the modems for that version, it is the 4.1.2 JB i had it before flashing CM10.1.

READ the faqs and guides before flashing .
Is your IMEI correct of not restore your backed up EFS folder .
No EFS backup as per the instructions then you require a service centre repair .
Read the faqs and guides critical to understand post one and two BEFORE flashing
before sending to service center you can try installing a stock rom from sammobile via odin. this sometimes recovers the imei and network connection. you need to install a stock rom and reset your flash counter anyway if you want to keep your warranty
Make sure to flash a recent rom that uses mg2 or mg4 baseband.

What modem did you install? if you installed XXEMG4 it would have formatted your 'efs'
Check your IMEI by dialing *#06#
for more info check this link
The modem does not format or erase the efs folder. It alters the format so older modems can't use it. That is why if there is no efs backup prior to using mg4 or mg2 modem. It is impossible to revert to older modem
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Its actually the rom not the modem and yes, ultima is based on a version of the rom that alters efs.

Not sure what you're asking.
Read general > Sticky roll-up thread > "IMEI / EFS - Know this stuff"
Everything I have read, but if you want to return a Nandroid backup, if you will?
It's nowhere
if your nandroid backup does not use an mg2 or mg4 modem than it will not restore your network. if you want to fix your phone go to sammobile.com choose any rom that uses mg2 or mg4 modem. flash it with odin. if that doesn't work take it to a service center

[Q] Device firmware.

When i go to kies and try to update my i9300, they say my device's current firmware version is not supported to update firmware via Kies. It is PDA:MF6 / Phone:MB1 / CSC:MF3 (KOR). I flashed my own country's firmware (singapore starhub) downloaded from sammobile but the firmware still stays the same. I tried OTA also but it says my software is modified. How do i change this firmware to my own country's one?
Have you rooted or modded your phone in any way? Modified status means it isn't as it left the factory. If you have then OTA won't work and probably kies (although I can't say for certain as I always use odin).
Go read the stickies in the general forum, before you do anything else, as you seem unaware of some crucial facts.
My phone is rooted. But it used to work on kies . Is it maybe because my firmware is KOR which I think stands for Korea but I'm not from there? That's why it doesn't work?
The update will be for KOR not where you are .
You do not have your original firmware product codes csc etc do not match .
Suggest you update by using sammobile.com stock firmware flashed via odin.

I tried csc changer already but if I use that way all my data will be gone and I have to reinstall everything. Even if I restore backup through Cwm recovery the csc code changes back. Is this the only way or is there another way without having to wipe my data

[Q] Please help, I can't find clear answer

Hello
My friend bought GS3 months ago in Arabic country with ICS 4.0.4 installed. When I saw the box, I found that the GS3 is a grey market product. It has Region Lock label written in Russian language on the box and the ROM is pre-rooted CWM Custom ROM
Now, Kies dose not upgrade this version and he wishes to have Arabic stock ROM 4.3 if possible. What are the safest steps to do?
- If I download and flash Arabic stock ROM, will I loose modem connectivity?
- Do I need to backup and restore EFS data if I flash stock ROM?
- Do I need root to restore EFS data/modem driver after flashing STOCK ROM?
- Should I flash custom ROM instead of Stock ROM?
I want a safe way, I don't wish to cause network/EFS loss to the device?
I read a lot but came to no conclusion.. please help

Which JB version is save to flash and won't loose the IMEI?

If u are rly just tat scared to lose ur imei. Go kies and do the firmware recovery. U will get stock rom automatically.

Depends on the phone history on what will happen on upgrade to 4.3, sim lock may return or imei lost due to patched efs folder. No way to know until you get flash, so backup efs now.
4.1.2 EMG4 is when efs format changed, anything before this shouldn't cause too many issues.

That's what I am worried about. To loose IMEI or get the region lock back. The phone model is GT-I9300RWDEUR. Can I find stock rom for it with no region lock?
so confusing !!

So if I upgrade to 4.1.2 before EMG4 , I won't have EFS/IMEI problem?
All I have to do to flash midle east ROM and then to find the Modem driver and install it through odin?

What is the difference? Odin only flashes tar?
I need to find modem driver in tar format first?
Odin flashes tar
CWM and other custom recovery flashes zips .
