Hi I noticed that we have the option to reboot into recovery on the power dialog but for some reason the streak does not reboot into recovery when we choose that option. Is there any other way to go to recovery without using the volume keys.?

Settings>Cyanogenmod Settings>Interface. Uncheck "Power Prompt".
Reboot into recovery doesn't work on the Streak, so you need to disable the power prompt, as mentioned.
Ah so no work around for that. I'm actually using miui. Thanks for the reply. Hope the volume buttons last

Hmmm
Only way I can boot into recovery is to do a battery pull.
If I just power down it just reboots.
Anyone else? Fix?

Is your fastboot on?
Settings> power> fastboot
If so then turn it off.

yep this saved me yesterday. I couldn't figure out wth was going on, but disabling fastboot worked.
I downloaded Quick Boot from the market. The process of pulling the battery and accessing the recovery console through fastboot is too tedious.
If you like the fastboot option then you can enter recovery by selecting restart phone and then when the screen blacks out hold the volume down button until it reboots into recovery. If you press it to early it will lower your volume to vibrate but after reboot you can just increase your volume again.
Nope fast boot unchecked....

Pull battery or go to "Restart" in the power menu. Keep the Volume-Down button held down. Then hit Recovery.
Yeah. Battery pull works ....hut that's a pain to do every time....

Why would you manually do anything....
QUICKBOOT!!!
It's free and works every time.
ETA: Even if you keep Fastboot checked, Quickboot app will put you into bootloader or recovery properly. Donate version adds Hotboot to the menu of options as well as (I can't remember as I have had the app for years) Power Off.
When I attempted to root my phone, I got this message from the superuser app. Its pretty self explanatory, but is it safe to do for the ATRIX without bricking? And how do I get into recovery for the ATRIX? I have an ATRIX running 2.3.4. I have plenty of experience with flashing the X10.

Yes...this should be safe to flash! To get into recovery, turn off the phone and then hold the volume down key while turning the phone back on. Keep holding vol down until you see fastboot. Then press volume down until you see android recovery. Then press volume up to enter recovery. This is assuming you've already flashed tenfars recovery...

hi,
i have Sony Tablet S model: SGPT112TR /S Pattern lock forgotten!. I'm trying to load the factory settings. But the pattern lock can not be recovered.
What can I do?
How do you boot into recovery and fastboot from the phone?
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
hold power and volume button down while phone is of to get into bootloader, when u get into bootloader simply select bootloader with power button, and use volume rockers to go down and slelect recovery
Also go into settings >power>turn off fastboot, sometimes it makes it hard to get into recovery.

Try turning your phone off, then press power and volume up and down simultaneously, I use two fingers on the volume instead of one finger in the middle, keep trying, if this doesn't get you there I'm at a loss, good luck and I suggest installing safestrap for your recovery needs in the future
