I have searched everywhere and didn't find anything related to my phone.
So I have a Galaxy SII (GT-I9100) running CyanogenMod 10 and I want to install BLN. I found Siyah Kernel on the net and it supports BLN.
Now my questions are:
1: Will flashing Siyah Kernel wipe my files? I can't afford that right now.
1b: What will happen with my CM10 rom? I read about dual boot, but I am really stuck, I wish to have one ROM and not two.
2: Can I use the latest Siyah Kernel for this? At gokhanmoral website.
3: What will change? I am running CM10 (see picture attached).
4: Is battery life really improving?
5: Is there any change I brick my phone losing all data?
Thanks in advance,
Nerminzz.

1) No it wont wipe your files
1b) You dont have to install a second rom if you dont want to
2) Yes you can
3) Your kernel will change
4)No comments
5) You wont brick your phone if you follow the instructions
I just flashed it, went suprisingly fast. Thanks for the answers, BLN is working! :good:

Hi all,
Sorry if this is kind of double post ( I have been advised to post it in this section)
Firstly I am a complete newbie so any step by step guide , pointer to the correct link or direction is so much appreciated.
My situation is:
I have SGS2 with:
Model Number: GT-I9100
Android Version : 2.3.3
Baseband Version: I9100xxKG1
Kernel 2.6..35.7-I9100ZSKG2-CL361136
Build number : GingerBread ZSKG2
1. I want to try either Litening Rom 6.1 or Darky ROM.
* Is this the correct Link to follow?
Darky: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1159920
Litening : http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1095274
** Do I need to root the phone before installing the Litening ROM? or can I go ahead with my current spec and flash it with Litening ROM via ODIN?
2. I want to preserve my Current state of my Device before flashing with Darky or Litening.
* Is it possible to back up everything so I can return it to the way it is for Warranty purposes?
* or is it not possible to put back when we installed Darky or Litening?
3. Which one do you recommend Darky or Litening? - which one is less bug at this stage?
I am hoping that by flashing with the custom rom, it will make the device
- faster more efficient
- still able to get good GPS signal (or better)
- Good Wifi reception (or better)
- Good battery life (or better than now)
Please let me know if this is a false hope?
Thanks guys - sorry for the very basic questions.
Regards,
I am wondering if anyone else has experience the same process and would like to share their tips .
Thanks again guys

First its your own choose for a ROM.
But if you will Litening rom you must flash it with Odin.
For Darky ROM: I dont know.
For a better battery life check this thread.
Speedmod is the best battery kernel.
Your device is not very faster but a little bit.
I dont know about wifi and gps.
P.S I dont have a rooted SGS2
I found this link here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1095274
is this the one I need to follow?
Do I need to install speedmod or CWM separately if I want to install Litening ROM?
can I directly flash directly from :
Model Number: GT-I9100
Android Version : 2.3.3
Baseband Version: I9100xxKG1
Kernel 2.6..35.7-I9100ZSKG2-CL361136
Build number : GingerBread ZSKG2
to Litening ROM 6.1??
Thanks again
Yes, you can.
Litening rom will be a bit faster than Darky rom because litening will have already a overclocked frequency to 1.6Ghz with it.
Every custom rom build using stock like Darky & Litening & Villian will provide more stable system than Cyanogen, MIUI & AOSP roms. That's what I've experienced.
Problems that you may faced after flashing custom are it may has bootloop, stuck on splash screen. If you got a bootloop, try flash it again, sometimes it needs to flash twice. If splash screen never pass then do a full wipe in CMW, wipe user data, partition, wipe delvik.
Hi just a couple of questions, i have had a look for the answer but no luck so far.
My phone details - Samsung Galaxy S II i9100
Kernel - Chainfire kernel XXKI4 with CWM and Power user already installed
Firmware 2.3.4
1. I want to flash CM7 to my phone but i want to keep all my settings, apps and data. So when i have CM7 installed i can just apply all my data, apps, settings etc. Is this possible
2.Can i use CWM to to install the rom or do i have to use rom manager, are their any noob tuturials that i can read about
3. Is their any good alternatives to CM7 that i could look it first
Thanks
Questions 1 and 2 are covered in the CM7 Q&A thread. Question 3 is impossible to answer.
Thanks for the quick responce
Problem Solved
Hi Guys,
I'm new to this Forum so please pardon if i'm not following any rules and mistakenly posted the thread in the wrong location.
I had installed Clockworkmod Recovery from "theandroidsoul"
Then I have Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100. Recently i have installed a custom ROM on it provided by JellyBam ROM 20121023 – i9100 (courtesy: igio90.)
It has upgraded my phone to:
Android version: 4.1.2
Baseband: I9100DDLP8
Kernel Version:[email protected]
AOKP Version: JellyBam.AOKP.Build5
Build number: JellyBam AOKP 20121023
I have found it to be unstable as there were many functionality that have been lost including FM, 5.1 surround sound, MTP and mass storage connection, etc.
I would like to remove the ROM completely and install another of ROM
Please suggest me the following:
1. can i go back to ICS 4.0.1 by removing this rom and instaliling ICS from odin? what would be a recommended procedure for it?
2. Will i BRIK my phone in this process?
3. Can i install any other version of Jelly bean custom rom using ODIN, what would be a recommended procedure for it?
Guys i need your help ASAP as i cannot stay with this unstable ROM for long. any help is hugely appreciated.

from what i can see you need a stable custom ROM with nice Features, i recommend you Cyanogen Mod 10 Jelly Bean... i Have it on my XPERIA ARC S and it works perfectly with no detected bugs, only one thing that i dont care about is that no more HDMI setting... the prcedure is quit easy and if you got stuck you can go back and ask for help, i dont think you can brick your phone if you follow steps and make a minor mistake.. if you would like to try, i can help you in everything, and please hit "THANKS" if i helped

Install Cm10, nice, no bugs so far, check forums for your device.
Hi everyone
My issue is somehow strange, I performed a clean install (full wipe, etc..) with Dorimanx Kernel 7.43 of Neat ROM 4.0 (XXLSJ) as primary ROM
When I install secondary ROM, Neat ROM boot loops and get stuck on the first Samsung bootanimation (where the logo is being drawn again and again)
I fixed permissions for secondary ROM, but still no boot, neither primary, nor secondary
I thought that ROMs are independent but seems like I'm wrong
Now I'm hesitating to retest the same with 7.44 kernel and 4.1 ROM (XWLS8)
What Have I messed ?
PS:
I reflashed my ROM and my phone is working fine, this thread is not about solving bootloop (with hundreds of threads dedicated here), it's about dual booting
Dorimanx doesn't support dual boot with any Samsung jelly bean roms currently
So it's kernel related, I did not notice this detail when flying over the changelog or the infinite number of replies :silly:
Thank you for the quick answer...
Try this Siyah MCM Kernel ver 3.0.60
http://sourceforge.net/projects/cm10i9100vsync/files/kernel/
I believe it is smoother than the Dorimanx Kernel and it supports dualboot.
Tha'ts the Kernels XDA thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1891222
Not exactly sure what Conny has posted, but just incase you didn't know dual boot can't work with any siyah or dorimanx kernel till the dev fixes it, and only siyah 6 beta 1 or above and dorimanx v3.37 or above work with samsung jelly bean

1Chef is right, I thought Neatrom published a 4.2.1 release
Considering neatrom is based on stock Samsung and not aosp then it can't have released 4.2.1
Got another bootloop while trying (hopfully) the new setup (7.44 + 4.1.2 XWLS8), nothing happened
I think that siyah will give the same result as Dorimanx is forked from, maybe with latest stable future release of Siyah, it could be fixed.
Now, I got tired from re-re-re-re-reflashing my phone :silly:
I'd better wait
Newbie Takes The Plunge to Custom Rom and Kernel: Any Suggestions?
I'm still fairly a newbie, but have rooted two phones so far, thanks to the great information, tutorials, guides, resources, and videos posted here on XDA. I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 and my daughter's Samsung Epic 4G.
I rooted my I9100 successfully a few months ago, but have never flashed a rom. I'm going to try out Neat Rom Lite tonight. I've finally gotten up the nerve!
QUESTION: Does anyone have any suggestion of which kernel I should flash along with it? I need better battery life. I would love to be able to watch videos and use the phone regularly and make it through the whole day without charging. Is this possible? Can a kernel and Neat Rom Lite do this for me?
Also, I rooted the Samsung Epic 4G yesterday. Any suggestions on what rom and kernel to put on it and how would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a bunch for any assistance and comments.
Hi,
I have been trying to look for answers in the forum but it is too confusing...My status is like this: I got the phone and installed Siyha 4, that was many months ago, if I look in About this is what I see;
- Android version: 4.0.3
- Baseband v: I9100BGLP2
- kernel v: [email protected]))
- Build number: IML74K.BGLP8
It is working, but it's showing random hangs, GPS does not work many times...and as I see there is even official support for JB, I would like to upgrade. But, I dont know what steps and even what I should upgrade. Not sure if Siyah I can just upgrade without issues, if then I can install any rom I want of top of it...etc. I would be really gratefull if somebody could tell me:
- what I need to upgrade
- in what order
then I will investigate and manage to do it myself. For example, I am after instructions like this (making them up as an example, no idea if this is correct):
1. upgrade to SiyahKernel S2-v6.0beta5
2. restart
3. install ROM cm-10.1.3-i9100.zip
I know there is no 'best' rom, just asking for advise for any JB (or later if there is stable one) rom that works well (no random crashes frquently, GPS working, I really need that).
thanks in advance!

1-to flash stock roms(tar extension) use odin or to flash custom roms (zip extention)then you need a custom recovery (eg ClockWorkMod).
2-if GPS is really matters to you, then dont flash cm10.1 is it have a known issue (gps is not working 99% of all time)see known issues for cm10.1:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Known_Issues_page_for_i9100
if you want stock rom(eg 4.1.2) look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544487"
if you want custom rom with working gps use(in my opinion)neatrom lite:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1569686
guide to flash with odin:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671969
always check the roms with md5sum check.
Hope it helps.
thanks!
OK, so let's say I'll go with stock rom (I'll remove most of samsung crap with RootDelete)...What about Siyah kernel I installed:
- is it replaced when installing stock rom?
- if not, can I update it to latest Siyah version? should I?

yes, because every rom has a kernel, but if you want Siyah kernel, after flashing the stock rom flash Siyah kernel again.if you want to update to stock jelly bean 4.1.2 then flash latest Siyah kernel.
Sorry for bad english.
