Hi,
I am developing and Remote keyboard (resembles WiFi remote, but with more simple and more advanced features).
The starting point is, of course, a software keyboard. Does anybody know what's the best keyboard (with source code, or jar files at least) that I can start from ?
I am using now AnySoftKeyboard (the best that I could find). I would like to use a ported version of ICS keyboard, but I did not manage to find the sources ported for 2.2 at least.
Any pointers ?

I've read everywhere that the Wii remote isn't working on Galaxy S phones due to TouchWiz. Is there any way to remove touchwiz or a workaround to get the wii remote to work on this phone?
I wasn't sure if this belonged in general or this forum so sorry if I messed up.
Its an issue with samsung using its own bluetooth sofware instead of stock android called "bluez".
Everyone is hoping that once we get CM6 for the galaxy series, the stock bluetooth bluez will be used, the wii controller app will work and we will be good to go
Source code released
Now that the source code is released, will we get this working? Thanks.
I would be interested to know if/how it is possible to access the IR blaster in code. As far as I can see there is no native support for IR devices Android (unlike things such as Bluetooth). Any ideas about how I might be able to send commands to the IR blaster in an App? I have experience making apps but no idea how to access hardware that is not supported by default in the SDK.
IR development access
I too would like to know about this. Im on the verge of buying a tablet S but I am wanting to know about IR code access, and the Playstation Suite SDK (which is supposedly for C# devs like me )
Agreed, I'd like to create a customizable widget for the remote control app.
If anyone finds out let me know
I also like to know the api for their docking
I have submitted a request to Sony for information on development for the IR blaster, maybe if enough people do the same then information and a library for accessing it will be released.

Seeing the Asus Transformer Prime for the first time inspired me to port my game engine to tablets, to allow making game development for Android using touch (with keyboard and mouse if available)
I'm working on porting my Editor to mobile platforms, on the video you can see my current efforts:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WloMCToCUc0
Transformer Prime owners can appreciate the app also for the "Code Editor" mode, where you can edit source code, with syntax highlighting, undo support all working with attachable keyboard.
There is even basic C++ compiler (self developed so it doesn't support full c++ language functionality yet), but it's functional enough to display messages boxes with custom strings, perform if, for, operations, etc.
Anyway, I'm posting to gather your opinions about the app, do you think that game engine editors can find their ways to tablets?
What do you like from the video and what would you like to be improved?
Is there any particular functionality you'd like to see in this kind of app?
Thanks in advance
Nice man!
I've never heard of this engine or game before, but damn that's awesome! Keep up the great work!
Hi! I know that there are apps to let an Android device serve as a mouse and keyboard for a PC or Mac. But is there anything to let an Android device do the same thing for another Android device? I feel like someone must have done this, but I can't find such an app. (I'm interested in getting an Android HDMI stick PC to use with my TV, and I'd much rather control it with another Android than with a keyboard and mouse.)
I found one app, Tablet Remote, which does _much_ of what I'm looking for, but it doesn't actually act as a mouse (instead just giving you arrows to move the selection point), which means that there's no way via Tablet Remote to do lots of basic things that require key taps.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Alan
Hi Guys, first of all sorry if this is in the wrong forum.. Mods please don't hesitate to move it.
I have a project for anyone who is up to the challenge.
I have an Android headunit which currently is running Android 2.3 and hardware wise it is not the best.
Here is a link to the actual where you can find hardware information headunit http://www.aliexpress.com/item/7-Pu...-Nissan-teana-2012-wifi-3G-DVD/975120044.html
I have the current 2.3 rom for my headunit but I have no idea how to port another rom to it.
Things to be done>
Android 5.0 as light as possible
Digital Car as the default and only launcher http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/digital-car-android-tablet-t2834750
I don't want all the Google goodies to work. Just maps, play store, which of course requires Google services.
I want the current functionalities of device to work the same.
Bluetooth calling
Wifi dongle support
From my understanding it would be best to port a rom from a tablet.
I also understand that this is not easy since the hardware is not the best out there but I wanted to just give it a try.
Will appreciate if anyone can take the task.
