Hi Guys, first of all sorry if this is in the wrong forum.. Mods please don't hesitate to move it.
I have a project for anyone who is up to the challenge.
I have an Android headunit which currently is running Android 2.3 and hardware wise it is not the best.
Here is a link to the actual where you can find hardware information headunit http://www.aliexpress.com/item/7-Pu...-Nissan-teana-2012-wifi-3G-DVD/975120044.html
I have the current 2.3 rom for my headunit but I have no idea how to port another rom to it.
Things to be done>
Android 5.0 as light as possible
Digital Car as the default and only launcher http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/digital-car-android-tablet-t2834750
I don't want all the Google goodies to work. Just maps, play store, which of course requires Google services.
I want the current functionalities of device to work the same.
Bluetooth calling
Wifi dongle support
From my understanding it would be best to port a rom from a tablet.
I also understand that this is not easy since the hardware is not the best out there but I wanted to just give it a try.
Will appreciate if anyone can take the task.

I have just bought an Android 2.3 tablet for my son. One of the things he wants to be able to do is produce his own MP3s by recording from his electric guitar and editing / creating his own tracks.
I have also purchase a 'plug & play' USB guitar lead - but the tablet doesn't recognise it, and I haven't found an audio editor he could use to produce his own music.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
2.3 or 3.2 tablet?

2.3 - does it make a difference?

Although I don't believe there are any audio editing apps out there, for future reference, Google's tablet OS is 3.0+ while Google's phone OS is other such as 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3. If there are any tablet optimized apps, which would make sense if some developer made an app as productive as audio editing, they would be for 3.0+, aka Honeycomb. I don't see developers developing what your son wants to do for the phone versions. In my opinion, an Ipad would have been a better option for what your son wants to do. Sorry, but that's the truth.
If I'm wrong, someone correct me please.

I wouldn't buy an Ipad on principle (if only because you can't change the battery, never mind a number of ideological reasons) - but the cost is also prohibitive for something for a 12 year-old.
All tablets come with Microphones built in, I'm amazed they can't accept and edit audio via a cable?
I'm very new as a member and I've been trying to find a rom which will allow me to have the ability to connect a Wii controller and use tv out function. I have tried Bluez on TW based roms and understand that the Wii controller will not connect due to the bluetooth stack. On these roms the TV out function works perfectly. With CM7 I can successfully connect Wii controllers but there is as of yet as of any of the release canadates or nightlies (81) no TV out function. Is there anyone aware of a rom with both of these capabilities or can someone tell me where to offically request this ability on CM7?
I really love CM7 and have the entire process memorized to get gps working on CM7, but the lack of tv out just kills it for me. Such possibility as a portable gaming system that I don't see an opportunity to take advantage of.
I've performed searches for those combinations and have thus far yielded nothing. if somone can point me in the right direction I would be extremly greatful and I would love to support through some donations any group willing to take on the task of incorperating both in a single rom.
Not gonna happen. Just no functionality for tv out on cm7 until source is dropped for 2.3 for the T959, which is not going to happen.

Hi all,
I just recently found out that S2 can not stream anything via MHL to the external monitor when camera app is running (in focus).
It will just display: "HDMI not available when application is running" which really sucks. I expected a lot of flexibility from Android, since this feature has been in Apple phone product for quite some time.
Anyone know why exactly this happened? I tried to look around mhl consortium and can't find relevant technical information.
I'm guessing the problem lies on the android OS itself and not the hardware. But still, it would be nice if someone can share a workaround or latest news or whatever discussion on this.
Thanks,
vinis.
Post your ROM details (Settings > About phone)
Hi, i am using Neat Rom lite as in here latest build 7thOct
I know that only samsung based ROM have MHL / tv-out capability, mainly due to proprietary driver.
Hi.
I'm starting with android development. I've developed a pair of apps for android devices.
Now I've got a new project where I have to develop a car media infotainment like enviroment based on android. To do this, I need to buy a development board which lets me program using the latest android versions and that mantains up to date. This hardware should contain LCD screen, bluetooth, USB ports, HDMI, etc...
What I really need is to find something that I could use to develop, and also as a final implementation for the real use.
Have suggested the BeagleBone Black. I find good for testing and programing, should do the work as a development board, but not as a final aplication to set it on a car.
Any suggestions?
I really don't know how to explain what I want, perhaps because its my first post.
After using xflare based on 4.2.2 although I was not fully satisfied by it but really enjoyed its easy connectivity features with my tv, now am on sld rom but wanted those features desperately as no other application(among 10 different ones that I tried) comes even close to Sony's default(throw service, which was available in settings) It somehow integrated media server, smart connect and the default video and music players. Smart connect is good and I have downloaded it but it is only showing option for Bluetooth connectivity. Can anyone please tell me how can I get back the great sharing over WiFi experience again.
Have a116, moto xoom and a Panasonic ut50.
Thanx in advance
P.s: if suggesting any other 3rd party apps be sure they are really tested, preferably by yourself or any other reputed member.
