Battery percentage jumping - Motorola Droid X2

I am running liberty rom and just recently un-v6 supercharged my phone and switched to ADW launcher from Launcher Pro now my battery percentage is jumping all over the place. I had my phone charging and it went from 46% to fully charged in about 5 minutes after being on the charger for about 2 hours. I did the gingerbread battery fix a while back and it was working great.... any ideas? Wipe battery stats? I've done a battery calibration also with no results

Alas, this is a common problem that we've had since 2.3.4. There doesn't seem to be any real fix for it. I've run a few battery calibration scripts to no avail. Just something we have to deal with unfortunately.

[Q] ROM with the best battery life?

hi.
I am using CM7 now which is great, but since I am going to a trip abroad I need to temporary change to a ROM with GPS, but most inportant, with a great battery life.
I don't need any great performance like CM7, I just need the battery to last long.
Any recommendations?
Thanks.

from my experience best battery i have on this rom i flashed this rom yesterday and charge it to 100% and run batt calibration it is preinstalled in this rom when you run batt calibration after that unplug your phone from charger and use it till total discharge and do not turn your phone on charge it to 100% again and its ok i've did it and play some games wi fi is enabled always i've use gps for 15 minutes and from yestarday till today so now i have 82% batt so i thing this is the best for batt
oh by the way lag fix is enabled to
Thank you. Do you know if calibrating the battery is useful even if I have one extra battery and I switch between the two batteries if necessery?
I don't know about the two battery thing, but i do agree that Project V have great battery life. Im using Super Dragon Modz kernel OCed to 1.3, and the phone its doing pretty nice till now. I unplugged it like 2 hours ago, and it still show 100%. On CM7, i would be around 75 to 80% by now. Battery life was the reason that i came back to Froyo.
WOW that's great battery life! Thanks a lot.
i don't konw about 2 batteries but calibrating is usefull it's helping 98% bug after unplug and it's greating a new battstat file what is realy nice project v6 is very good rom for battery i did't tried super dragon
I don't see how callibrating the battery helps extend battery life? The battery remains at the same capacity and draining any battery completely shortens the lifespan of the battery. I can see that the system might get a better prediction of battery life... But you get that regardless after using the phone for a few days / week...

Very slow charging...

For the past four or five days my Thunderbolt has been charging at an incredibly slow pace. For example, I've had the phone on the charger for 13 hours now and i've gone from 40% to 91%. I have the extended battery, but it usually only takes about 3-4 hours to charge from zero to 100%.
I recently put the new gingeritis ROM on the phone. It charged fine the first couple times after that but then I started having this problem. Is it the ROM, the battery, or the phone?
Has anyone else had this issue?

I would say search but......
It's known. Reboot while on the charger.
das BAMF sense 3.0 rocking the bolt
Tried multiple reboots on charger. I did a bunch of searches but didn't find anything Thunderbolt specific and non concrete answers on what causes this.

I have been told it is to do with the kernal. Was told to charge full and while still on the charger go in the toolkit and refresh battery stats and then reboot. I just did it this morning so I have no idea if it will help but this is what I was told to do.
I have been on Gingeritis 1.0 with the 2.5 radio for a week now, and the past 3 days have been seeing the same thing. Charging takes several hours with the standard battery now. Last night I put it on at 3:30PM, at 40% on a standard battery. At 9:00pm, it was at 94% and still charging.
It was faster charging last week. Going to try a battery wipe.
Thanks for the responses. I'm still at 91%, but I'll try to wipe the battery stats when it finally gets to 100%.
Maybe I'm missing something, but gingeritis doesn't have a toolkit like BAMF, right? I'll have to do it through CM.
Thanks again.

My mistake, I assumed you were on bamf. I think you can still do this by going into your normal phone settings with your battery info. That I'm not 100% sure on though
Download Battery Calibration NeMa from market, it wipes stats without going into recovery

OK. So I tried wiping the battery stats. My phone got to 99% charged and stuck there for an hour so I restarted into CM and wiped the battery stats.... Still slow charging. So the next day I let it sit on the charger for 20 hours until it finally got to 100% and I wiped the battery stats again. Still not fixed. Just took the phone off a 7 hour charge and it went from 24% to 68%.
I'm wondering if it's the ROM I'm using (gingeritis 1.0). I'm going to charge this thing up again all day today and then flash a new ROM. I hate doing that since it takes some much time to set up my phone after a wipe, so if anyone has any other suggestions I'm ready to hear them.
Let's trubleshoot this. Anyone else who is having the same problem post your ROM and if you're using the extended battery. I'm on gingeritis 1.0 using the extended battery.
Try an updated Kernal.
The latest Imoseyon are supposed to fix the slow charging.
Have you tried bump charging? Let battery drop to 5% then put on charger. Once 100%, unplug and turn phone off and put back on charger whole it is off.
Updated the kernel and put it back on the charger. I've gained 25% in the last hour which is back to normal. Thanks!

As stated previously you should update the kernel. The newest IMO fixed it for me.

Restart then charge or get the new isoman kernel.

[Q] Battery Calibration - Seidio Extended Battery

So I was one of those who was finding my battery life to not be sufficient on the Photon and bought the Seidio extended battery. First thought is that it does make the phone heavier, but I can deal with that. Not a deal breaker.
My issue is that the Photon doesn't recognize the fact that I now have the extended battery. I've spent the last two days using Battery calibration software (charging overnight to 100%) and then trying to discharge completely and recharge. The problem is that the phone continually is showing 1% for almost 3-4 hours if not longer. I can't get it to recognize that there is more juice in there.
While it's great that it seems to be working well (first real work day with it today), having the battery drain like mad (or seemingly) and then sitting at 1% for half or more of the day and not knowing when it will die is a problem.
I wonder if this is why the stock seemed to drain so quickly - maybe it's a programming bug? Firmware bug? I dunno. In any event, any suggestions on how to make the phone actually see that there's more juice would be great.
As an FYI I've used "Battery Calibrator" - both of them and Battery Drainer and Fast Discharge to get the phone down. I am rooted, but everything is stock other then the root itself.
Thanks!
Rumor has it, that the latest software update decreases battery life. I have the latest update, (I understand that many have this issue updating, if you do, look it up in the forums, you will need to SBF the first version of software to your phone...), and my battery life could be a lot better, like it used to be.

Well the issue now with the new battery isn't so much battery life. With the extended battery the life is stellar. This issue is that yesterday at about 3 in the afternoon the phone showed 1 percent battery life. Yet it didn't ever die. When i plugged it in last night before going to bed, at 1200, I still had 1 percent. So the issue is that the phone isn't properly recognizing the battery life itself.
Help?

I understand that you have used the battery calibration application, try installing CWM, ClockworkMod, after you root the phone. Drain the battery, charge to 100% boot up into CWM, and go to advanced, and clear battery stats...
If that doesn't work, then I could be the battery, or the phone itself. See if any other members have any insight.
Can't change bootloader on photon without breaking 4g as far as I know. Will crosspost in main photon forum. Thanks!

Having a weird problem

I was installing zeam launcher and my phone froze, so I rebooted my phone and my battery was at 60 percent but when I started it up I only have 26 percent. What should I do,I tried piling the battery but it stills show 26 percent.

That's weird. I have had that exact same problem two other times on two different roms. I continued using the phone heavily throughout the rest of the day and the battery dropped to about 15% and stayed there for a couple of hours of use, then began dropping again normally afterwards. After draining all the way and recharging, everything was normal again.
On a side note, I switch batteries a lot and charge on external chargers.
Yeah its really weird. I had this same problem on the infuse but with that phone all I had to do was restart the phone...

Did you flash a new rom? Maybe try a battery calibration? Hopfuly nothing is wrong with the battery itself.
Are you rootd? Did u try wiping battery stats in cwm?
It's been found wiping battery stats usually causes battery read issues. Best to leave alone.

[Q] Crazy battery issues on multiple roms

So I've had this problem on multiple roms - I charge the phone to 100%, and in my battery monitor app it says that its 4200mV. Under an hour, the % reading goes from 100 to 5, but the battery monitor states that its still at around 3500mV - I've tried wiping battery stats, but to no avail. What the heck is going on? Is my battery dead, or is it a bug in battery stats, or some other crazy problem?
Additionally, is there a way to get BSR on CM10 so I can wipe stats with that, or no?
My battery jumps like that too. Phone dies maybe 5 or 6 times a day.
As far as getting into BSR on CM10 you need to download the Hijack.zip and move it to system/etc/ if i remember right. Once you replace old one with the new one change permissions to RW/R/R.
After that install BSR and boom.
The Hijack.zip you need is in the CM10 post.
