[Q] Samsung Fascinate Verzion MIUI - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What is the best version of MIUI for the Samsung Fascinate Verizon?
Thanks,
Rick

Look in the dev forums. MIUI JB is good but a tad unstable. There's also MIUI GB, which I haven't used.

AOSP

Is CM7 the closest to AOSP that the SGS2 can get?
That's probably a safe bet. All the other ROMs here (excluding miui) are based on a Samsung build for this phone or the i9100.
For all its likeness to the Nexus S, the captivate never saw a AOSP ROM.
There is a ICS port coming along that is not Samsung built, but its far from usable, and may just be the prelude to CM9.

Right now yes. However once you have cm you can usually get aosp.

[leak] [rom] ics 4.0 i9220zcpl1

I know this might be old news, but this came out today. A leak to the ICS 4.0 for AT&T GS Note.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500186
Nice for them but IIRC we can't run Gnote roms. Although, this does mean that a version for our device MUST be on the horizon.
It's got the exynos processor, right?
I thought the English version processor was changed to ours?

Yes, it does have Snapdragon.
Im pretty sure that is the leak for the Chinese version of the phone, which is not compatible with the European version. And that has the 1.4 gHz Exynos
i don't understand how there are so many roms leaked for ATT version of s2 and now there is a rom leaked for Note which just got released in US. Why not for t-mobile s2?

All signs point to Samsung not having worked on this device until the finished the international S2.
This is for inter version. On another note xboarder gave his ics rom preview to skyrocket forum and I must say after flashing it I can't wait. Even tho alot of things aren't working it is just beautiful and fast. Link is in our general section. Also works on our device.
You didn't bother to watch the video at the bottom of the first post...did you?

Where did it say it is for AT&T Note? If past history told us anything, AT&T ROMs have different button layouts than internation version. Not to mention the radio chips and CPU/GPU are completely different.
First post is misleading.. and the att sgsii doesn't have any ics leaks.

OP is clueless to say the least. This thread should have been closed instead of moved.

Who's gonna be the first to make a jellybean rom that's functional

Just wondering this to myself. Are there any big differences from ics?

Probably Samsung & AT&T. Just like ICS, we had to wait till we had a leaked rom so I would guess it will be the same way with Jelly Bean.

Official ICS - Worth upgrading?

Hi im a GS1 owner, soon maybe getting the GS2 and i wonder if i should upgrade it with the stock 4.0.4 or stay on 2.3.6.
(im staying stock for a while then rooting changing roms etc)
From some i heard the batterytime was not as good as in GB. From some it was smoother in ICS.
If you have upgraded to ICS (Stock) not custom, did you regret it or is it better?
Stock ICS is uglier than stock GB. ICS has better battery life and of course, the new features of ICS.

Yeah, it's definitely worth it.
If you face any problems after upgrading, then search the thread first for similar issues before opening a new thread.
Good luck

You can try ofc and downgrade to Gb if Ics doesn`t suites your needs. My S2 is quite new, has only a month and it came up with Ics 4.0.3 installed.
The best way is to try for yourself and judge then what to do. The process of flashing is so simple as you surely know.
Cheers and welcome to S2 comunity.

Samsung is presently conducting their show in IFA 2012,
Galaxy Note II with jelly bean out of box, has just been announced and rumors say they will announce the ETA for jelly bean update for other devices today

S3 has fifth leaked jelly bean already. What I have heard Sammys engineers are working on s3 and note2 versions already and S2 will be released later.

Battery is actually better for me since upgrade.
If after upgrade, you face any battery issue, just post it here, we'll help you track the problem down and solve it at once.
Good luck

JB for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Leaked would benefit to our Glaxy Tab 10.1?

So Jelly Bean Leaked for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, I believe this could help our developers to fix the issue(s) such as front facing cam for CM10 & AOKP ROMs we currently using. I don't know you guys, but i am a bit optimistic now and feel like we may have a stable JB ROMs for GT-P7510/GT-P7500 very soon...maybe!?
what are your thoughts?

Tab 2 has nothing to do with our generation. The fixes you seek are going to happen when pershoot finishes CM9.
I think we'll get an official update. The hard work has been done, we already have kernel 3.1 and there is absolutely no reason for them not to update our tab to JB

Yes they are, they will be merged into cm10 when cm9 is stable.
