WiFi Signal disconnects when connecting - HTC Amaze 4G

My wifi signal fades when trying to connect and then disconnects. Full signal bars will show and when says "obtaining ip" the signal goes all the way down then disconnects and its a loop. Just continues to do this over and over. Never had wifi problems before.
Solutions?

That happens to me on every stock- based ics 3.6 Rom I've tried, including stock. Only roms that fix it for me is nightmare sense & speed Rom (because they're based on sense 4)

I don't know about a solution, but mine does this when I don't have a strong signal. It says I have a good signal, but I know I don't cuz I'm kinda far away. If I go within range it'll connect, and then I can go back where I was and it'll normally stay connected.

Wi-Fi connection issues?

My Razr connects very quickly to my wifi at home and works speedily but with 30 seconds - 2 minutes all data transfer stops. I still have a signal and the bars are blue but I receive a failure to load and can't get any data to work until I cycle wifi on off or go back to the network. Any ideas on a router setting or something I can do to fix this? Every other device I have connected works flawlessly.

[Q] Wifi problem - dropping

I am currently on Gingerreal 2.0. I can connect to my wifi, but suddenly, somehow after a few minutes the connection drops and then switches back on...It is not a router issue as my laptop and other phone works fine without dropping.

I get the problem sometime.. make sure that your router is not blocked and that your room door is not closed or other obstacles.. this will affect the signal.. just press scan again on the wifi menu and it should work.

No, no , you did not get my point. It drops the connection and then automatically reconnects even if I keep it next to the router.
NOTE: My wifi screen off is set to :Never.

Losing Wi-fi connection very often

I've noticed that I'm losing Wi-fi connection very often. Its coming randomly... first for example I using browser Dolphin HD and connection is lost...
2nd - I turn Prime in the morning for the first time and doesn't work immediately.
After restarting it works, but this is happening now almost every day.
Wi-fi antenna shows half of signal so this should be working. But the problem is that antenna is in grey color instead of blue color.
U know if you click manage WiFi settings then click option screen there is a advanced setting where you can change WiFi to best preformance this should help you

I see no option for best performance in advanced settings????
Go to wireless settings hit manage WiFi access points hit menu then hit advanced then check box for performance

I think he is talking about the wifi disconnection policy. No such thing as "performance" in wifi settings.

About what kind of "policy" are you talking about ? i didn't hear anything about that..... what is that normal to lose wifi connection? nothing we can do?
At the wifi screen, at the very top right corner of your screen next to the add network button there is a button with 3 squares on it. Tap it, then tap advanced. Then change Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep.
Do a factory reset and see if you have same problem maybe its a bad update/flash

Also try restarting your modem/router and see if that helps. Sometimes the fault may not be on the device itself.
I also have this problem!! The wifi disconnects very often on my campus which makes things really annoying. It seems like an software issue to me though since restarting the wifi makes all the wifi networks display and connect again (until it disconnects again) I have yet to try the factory default solution though.
I still didn't fix this, internet is working fine during that time on PC, but Prime loses connection somehow, I just turned it on and he started of without Wifi connection...

When the Prime loses connection, the only solution that works for me is to turn my router off, then back on

I get back connection after restaring Prime, but that isn't really a solution doing it every day, its annoying at least.

You're lucky. Rebooting the router each time is a pain
WiFi connection
when i upgraded from Transformer to Transformer prime i had this problem constantly. I had to remove the WiFi network profile and re-add it. that seemed to fix the profile going in and out.

Re: Wifi and 3G Problems

Re: Wifi and 3G Problems
This issue is about to drive me up a freaking wall.
When I'm connected to Wifi at my house and I leave and get out of wifi range my phone doesn't connect to mobile network. I have to reboot it every single time to connect to 3g.
I've called Sprint several times about this and they just walk me through the process check.
Is anybody else having this problem? If so do you know of a fix? Thanks

Mome connects after a minute at the most. Try putting into airplane mode and back. Also just for fun try updating prl

I'm having the same problem. Leave the house and phone still shows I'm connected to the WiFi. I turn WiFi off and get the 3G symbol, but apps are report that there is no data connection. Need to reboot to get 3G to work. Toggling Airplane mode doesn't fix connection.

Atrix has problems recieving data from wifi

I connect to my WiFi network at home, and just to note, i cannot connect to it unless i am very close to it (within 2m) and when i move away, it still stays connected, but once i get to 2 out of 4 bars of connection strength, i can no longer recieve data, but it displays that i still have 2 bars. ( i mean that I cannot access any webpages or apps that require internet) In short the internet will only work if i am directly beside the router, and that is a problem. I am runnin Epinter's CM10 October 29th build. Does anyone know why and what i can do ?

It could be a setting in Wireless/wifi that stops device using wifi when it thinks the signal is weak. Have a look at that. If not that, have you looked at your router? Location ect
