i read this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1610925) a while ago, and i saw many custom roms for Flyer, i currently at revol s-off + CWM + rooted + 2.3.4 + 2.27.707.1, which rom should i choose if i want a fully function (camera, BT, video, calling etc) + high spd + smooth rom? i got a SGT7.0Plus, so i don't think i'll be heading to HC again, hate that window bar at the bottom, kicks me out every time in the action game, fren told me to stick to stock GB + sense, but kind of boring with the 7 page x 16 apps, i wish to have more, any suggesstion?
:silly:
just download leedroid GB for a test, put the file to ext-sd card, nand back-uped, wipe data, wipe cache, wipe delcache, install rom.zip, reboot, and now my flyer is stuck on white screen, when i hold home button i see there is a setup program running, i waited 10 minutes like the tutorial said, the white screen still there, tought i might still need some time, so i leave it still and go for an animation, when back still in white page, am i missing something or what? already restore back to the previous GB rom now, can't let the thing kept like that(white screen), try to swim the forum tomorrow again
Anyone can help with the white HTC screen after flashing custom rom with CWM? I'm on soff, revolution CWM, rooted stock GB.
Or am I in the wrong section while asking this question? -.-||

From what you are posting there should be no issue. Make sure you download the gb version and not the hc
Flyer
DexterJB Jellybean
I stopped using my Flyer for a while but decided to give the jelly bean rom a try and WOW. It has nearly upgraded my flyer to a nexus 7, it is an amazing rom!

I'm still getting stuck on white HTC screen, auto screen lock is activate, I think bout 10sec, HW button got function, power button can restart.
Do I have to use and to flash the boot img which extracted from the custom ROM zip? I saw some thread teach that way.
Oh, and I confirm I'd download the custom ROM for GB and not HC, leedroid and flyhigh, both having the same problem.

So ive searched for what im looking for but im unsure which way to go with rooting because i guess some software versions arent compatible
I just came home with a 16gb wifi flyer, and i'd very much like to root. Ive tried every samsung epic and htc hero rom available, so i know the benefits.
I have Software number: 1.36.1540.32, 2.3.3, htc sense 2.1
Could someone point me in the right direction for rooting with this software version? Thanks
US BB wifi version?
Easy to root, just follow the guide. Then you can run any custom GB ROM or keep it stock.
Only issue is if you take the plunge to Honeycomb, you can never go back since there is no compatible RUU.

Thanks for the reply, i did a bit of research into Revolutionary and it turns out its the HBOOT version that matters not the software version. So having HBOOT 1.10 it worked fine. CW installed, and FlyHigh Rom/Kernal flashed.
Apps run very smooth, but oddly the live wallpaper im running lags now, before the flash it didnt. Im wondering if its from the CPU settings. Possible underclocked too much sitting at the home screen or something.
Update: Changed the govener to performance and the LW no longer lag. Thats what i assumed it was. Ill have to find which one has the best battery conservation while still running smooth. Cant do too much testing while im at work though

WTG! Now, did you flash CW through the instructions? I have tried to do this again from the hboot with no luck. Any pro tips?
Also, LWP should still pause in between screen switches on the flyhigh....

I flashed CW through the revolutionary program. When it gave me the option to download and flash it, i just said yes.
And yes, i know about the LWP "pausing" while moving screens, but this was running very choppy till i messed with the CPU settings.
What part were you getting stuck on? Its pretty linear once the script starts the install.

CWM IS the recovery. Its a custom version that allows you to do a hell of a lot more than the stock recovery. Any shot of getting a pic of what your bluescreen looks like?

Long story short personal preference that's it. Some people love it the way it is. Some people love it but just want a little more. rooting gives them that extra access to make it better. If you get me.

I rooted because i wanted to be able to install a custom kernel to be able to overclock to have the best gaming performance on the tablet. My original reason for getting it was to play Order & Chaos big screen.
Also the custom roms are almost always faster and take up less memory.

I flashed Joelz ICS beta 1 for my Evo after using his ICS Alpha X prior. When I decided I didn't like the beta 1 and went back to Alpha X, I found that the capacitive buttons became unresponsive about 50% of the time. I used Flash Image GUI to re-flash, then went to TWRP Recovery and flashed it there (wiped everything both times). Now I can press the buttons sometimes, but they only work 50% of the time, and I can't long-press. It also likes to click the bottom of the touchscreen instead of the buttons (like the dock bar in the launcher), even though I'm obvious touching the buttons. Anybody experience this or have any troubleshooting ideas?

Here is the recovery I use ...
Hello
first off let me say thanks in advance to anyone who can help me shed some light on this matter.
im trying to follow forum rules (i have used them before) and used the search function. so if i missed it im sorry. but here is as much info as i can give.
so i have a Tmobile samsung galaxy s vibrant. great phone love it. it had eclair on it. i used samsung kies to update it to froyo 2.2. that was the most i knew you could update a phone. until i found out you can do more. so i instantly wanted to flash to a the best ROM i could find info and was directed to the jelly bean Rom. i initially wanted to try the helly bean ROM (not sure if there is a difference) but im new to this and went with the rom i could find the most info on. found this guy on youtube. since i can post out side links yet. he calls him self "DJ eddie one" who was also recommended by the team passion forum. again im new to this so bare with me. so i tried to go through the process. I'm sure you all know that you cant just go from froyo to another rom. so i had to go back to stock. i re flashed the phone back to eclair via Odin by the same guy in his "return vibrant back to stock" video no problem. back everything up and made it back to stock. touch screen has response and i can unlock the phone and use it like normal. here is the deal now. after i went through the whole process of flashing it and going from ICS to slim bean and then to jelly bean. the home screen comes up and says "swipe here" or "touch here" or "start" or what ever. the screen does not respond. the volume buttons raise the volume and the power button turns the screen off and if i hold the power power button i get the "airplane mode"/"power off" options but cannot select anything. i thought i had done something wrong so i did the process over again. 3 times. even stopped at each rom change just to check it out as i processed through the process. no change. flash back to Eclair stock. and it works fine.
please help. i hate elcair. im sick of it. i want my free mobile hot spot back so i can listen to NPR news ap on my ipod touch in my car cuz i dont have a radio. and froyo blows too. if you're wondering why i can afford a snazzy phone and ipod touch but not a car stereo its because i drive an RX7. Cheers please help! i sure hope its something stupid (almost always is with me) i tend to over think things. plus i work on PCs and MACs for a living. i setup freaking networks for Allah sake. its frustrating to get stuck on a some phone software. AAAAHHHHHAAA.. *end rant*
thanks again.
hysterically yours

Well if your running hellybean. It sounds like it might just be a bad flash. Don't Odin back to stock.
1.go into recovery and format system.
2. Wipe cache.
3. Go into advanced settings and wipe dalvik cache.
4 go into mounts and storage and format /boot and format /system.
Reflaah the hellybean allinone(it depends which hellybean build were you flashing)
5.flash the hellybean add on and reeboot

Go to the Helly Bean thread in the developers forum. Go to page one and it should have a link to the addon package.
I had a glitch like yours one time where the touch screen acted like it was unplugged (for lack of better way to describe it). I popped battery out and rebooted and it was fine.
If not, Odin back to stock and follow my guide I posted in the Status 7 error thread. Page 3 I think.

Try flashing CM10 instead of Helly Bean. Helly_Bean's installation can be somewhat tedious, but CM10 is just one zip file. Here is a link:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1775271

and how would i do that? i mean what would cause the screen not to work? i was fine when eclair was on it and fine when foryo was on it. i go through the process of flashing it to ICS Passion then to Slim Bean and then to Jelly Bean and the screen just stops? i even stopped at eat Flash cuz i wanted to see what they looked like before made it to jelly bean. and each one the screen did work. i was thinking some sort of kernel file handles that or driver? correct me if im wrong.

In that thread stated are the files i need to flash the phone. in there is this link (http://rootaxbox.no-ip.org/derteufel/Helly_Bean/) which i have been to before. i guess i got confused as to what files i needed from the link because there are a few directories in there with lots of other files and i wasnt sure which i needed. Example; in that link if i click on kernel link it takes me to the next directory with numbers. ( i assume these are versions) then if i click on 113 it takes me to another dir of files. i can only assume i want the one that is lableled "Devil3_1.1.3_HB_vibrant_CFS_BLN_VC_20120807.zip"
im just confused as to what files i do need and what i dont need. im sorry to be such a pest.

whats the difference of the inverted as apposed to the regular? if i try one can i go back to try the other?
in reference to your second link;
i can flash back to sock with odin no problem.
the rest of the items needed on the list though
Gingerbread bootloader installed
-Bionix V fishman ROM (2.2 with Bali kernel, any 2.2 ROM may do.. YMMV)
-latest CM9 nightly (ICS)
-latest Helly Bean All In One and Add-on package.
i can get this from the same link?
The rest of the items you'll need to search for. GB boot loaders has a whole sticky devoted to it, how to do it, etc.
You can find the bionix ROM and CM9 nighty (ICS) in the android development forum (hit your back button once and you should see the development forum)
You'll be fine, just download everything you need, follow instructions, and you'll be set.
I've never used inverted apps, I assume it changes the look of them.

Yep.. with the Bionix ROM, I download and flashed the package via CWM, I didn't use the Odin image. Either way should work fine. Your last link is directly to the add-on package, here is the link to the ROM http://rootaxbox.no-ip.org/derteufel/Helly_Bean/rom/
I would download and use the 8/13 build of Helly Bean. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.
Just don't forget to flash to GB bootloader. You may have done that already, if not read about and follow the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117990
Have fun!
The inverted gapps change white to black and black to white, for example in gmail the screen will be black and red with white writing.
There are two benefits from this
1. They look cool IMO.
2. It uses less battery, white screens draw more current.

Can you confirm your status now? It appeared that your touch screen will work while on eclair, but on no other ROM. Is that still your current situation?

If the tablet is working just fine then you have a lot of options if you don't mind unlocking or anything. If you're on ICS then I'd suggest you nvflash your tablet and back up ICS (so you can go back if you want) and flash Androwook 1.3 or wait a little and flash 1.4 when the Wookie releases it.
If you really don't want to unlock/root anything you can always download the stock firmware from the Asus website and use one of the guides here on how to flash it. Again, I'd suggest a Jelly Bean Rom because it is smooth and fast.
There were two main roms I wanted to try after I finally S-OFF'd my phone yesterday. Hatka Supreme 1.1.0 and Carbon. Neither of these worked and I'm glad that I backed up my S-OFF rooted stock rom. Hatka Supreme, the guy states its best to use Beast Mode kernal with the rom, which I flashed after I installed the room, and it just randomly reboots at the splash screen/a few seconds after getting into Android, so I restored my stock and everything worked fine. Next, I tried Carbon, and it just sat there at the carbon flash screen for like 20 minutes, so again, I had to restore to stock. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is there a difference between Original Android Development and Android Development? Should I be looking at the original or what? I'm really lost, I'm going to try another rom, hopefully someone replies to this before it finishes downloading. Thanks for the help.
EDIT: I'd rather just sit and wait to see if someone replies before I waste time downloading another rom...any help would be appreciated.

It's probably your recoverys fault. On my last DNA I had nothing but failures. Once it took at least 30 times to get a Rom installed. Never solved the issue on that phone. I just soffed my new DNA yesterday, installed the newest cwm touch and flashed 4 different roms with no problem. Try re-flashing cwm touch.

Yes, still the same thing, I'm not saying I didn't do that the first time though, that's like the basics of installing a rom.

Do you think its TWRP's fault? After I found out there was no way to mount USB storage in TWRP I wanted to switch to CWM, but sadly I don't know how.

You could use the goomanager from the play store or use fastbook flash recovery cwm.img
Edit: for the touch version of cwm fastboot is required.

I would rather use goomanager, because it seems easier, but the only thing it seems to be able to download is the twrp image. How would I set it to cwm?
I have canvas 2 running on suvi6 Jupiter rom i have some prob with this when i reboot some icon on home screen will disappear, i found that those apps which r installed on ext sd card its icon will disappear from home screen, but apps working in apps list, only icon from home screen disappeared.
Other problem is that while incoming a call i cannot see full picture of caller becoz half screen is black and half picture can be seen.
Please help me

Sorry I was mistaken, goomanager installs twrp not cwm.
Fastboot is easy to use, I'm at work so I can't to a step by step til I get home later. You should be able figure it out but if not I will help when I get home.

I don't know if you knew this already but I s-offed using moonshine, is that a problem? I installed cwm and tried installing hatka again and it did the same thing, restart like every three seconds into android. I don't know what to do anymore.

I'm no expert, but when u flashed hatka, did u reboot into the system before flashing beast mode kernel? Flashing a kernel in the same recovery session is a no no. Also, beast mode is not compatible with carbon, fyi.

I did that the first time, and thats when I started experiencing it, so I figured that was the problem. So I restored to stock, and then just tried flashing the rom and booting, still same thing, rebooting every 5 seconds. Sometimes I'm able to get into settings, scroll up and down a few times, and then it reboots.
EDIT: If I remember correctly, I didn't even flash beast mode kernel after I flashed carbon.

I've had the same sort of thing happen to me when we first started working with CM. I had to lock up and run the RUU then unlock again, started flashing normally again after that.
