My phone was running z's rom 2.2 for x10 when I took it out of my pocket and the screen was black. The blue lights turned on but not the screen. When I turned off the phone, it wouldn't turn back on.
The computer won't recognize it for flash tool or se fix software or battery won't charge if I hook it up to the charger. what do I do? I have never had this issue before. help would be awesome.
thanks. is it bricked?
Solution sort of: I took my phone in to ATT service center and they said my phone and battery weren't working. So I got a new phone for free. (THANK GOD) Xperia x10 refurbished. So I got to mod it all over again. lol. They couldn't tell me what I did wrong or anything. So I guess I have a solution. So whoever has an issue like me, lets just hope your phone isn't dead like mine The other sad thing was they didn't have a battery for me so they are sending me one through the mail. by tomorrow. one day shipping yess!!!! Thanks for all those who put in helpful ideas. Doing some serious phone pimping pretty soon once I get my battery.
Can you boot into xRecovery?
I have a similar issue here.
I am using the CM6.1.3 custom ROM on my phone (Android 2.2). It ran out of battery(for its first time) this afternoon so I charged it and tried to turn it back on but it wouldn't. It just starts up until the Sony Ericsson logo and just fades out and a white light will turn on at the notification lamp for a while and then reboot again. I tried the Sony Ericsson update service to reinstall the software but I changed the firmware and baseband so it doesn't work and it doesn't seem to be able to boot into xRecovery either. What can I do? Help/advice appreciated!
Problem might be with the faulty offline charging.so your battery's flat.I believe there is a fix for the problem, you might need to borrow a battery, install the fix(check the Rom main page) then you should be good to go :
You could also flash a clean rom using the flashtool version 1.3 I think

can you teach me how to flash a clean rom using the flashtool? i already have the flashtool but i dont really know how to use it
thanks
Look in the development section as there are detailed descriptions on this already, but I can say not to worry as it's impossible to brick this phone, it can always be returned to stock. It's the only good thing about not having a cracked bootloader, we cannot be bricked

hey i got my phone back today three sent me a recon... turned it on all was ok for 15 minutes then kept getting random reboots 2 mins or so after it being on, so i flashed generic fw as i thought it was a bad flash n then it wouldnt cum on at all just a vibration and a green flash when i turned it on, used seus and after 12 times of trying it installed the latest fw and now it only turns on with no sim card init put a sim init and it just reboots constantly, iv left it on charge because thats about as much as i can do now im guessing....any ideas?? or is it just a dodgy handset that needs replacing agaainm, cheers
If it came that way send it back. It doesn't sound firmware related if did all those things.
you can try install xrecovery and clean all.
After, you download a firmware to flash with the flash tool.
If this fails it is possible that your phone is broken.
try a different sim card, your carrier will have one to try if you don't have a friend to try his

has anyone rooted Xperia Pro (MK16i) with firmware 4.0.2.A.0.62?
sorry i am asking as i haven't done it before and i don't want to make anything wrong ..
MK16 roots perfectly with zergRush, no side effects.

Use the Easy Rooting Toolkit from Doomlord. There's a thread for it in the Neo Devel (and I think the Arc Devel) forum. Works beautifully on the MK16. For both versions of the official SE firmware. And without unlocking the bootloader.
I know, because I've rooted my MK16a on both firmwares using it.

Temporary re-opened. Please do not open other new threads about Xperia Pro while I find some more information. But you can keep discussion on this. Thanks.
...The Xperia Pro is a Neo with a keyboard, and most internals are common and tips will apply to both.
Even Sony Ericsson themselves handle the Neo and Pro the same in their official support forum:

[Q] Xperia Pro root
Hi Folks,
i guess my Xperia Pro (= Xperia Neo + keyboard, Android 2.3.4) is dying on me, it doesn't start anymore. I am actually not quite sure if this thread should really be here, as this may well be a general problem with SONY Xperia's, mods feel free to move it if so.
Here is what is happening:
Before, when i shut down the phone and connected it to the charger, a kind of BIOS screen flashed up shortly after that, showing 'SONY Ericsson' and then some simple graphics displaying the loading status of the battery.
Now, if i shut down the phone normally, these BIOS screens are not there anymore, and subsequently the phone can also not be started. Here is what i have to do get it working again:
- pull the battery
- wait for 5 - 10 mins
- connect the phone to the charger with NO battery inserted
- wait for the 'SONY Ericsson' screen, then insert the battery quickly
The phone will then startup normally. The following potential problems were checked:
- battery is fully loaded
- SD card removed, to no avail
- SIM card removed, to no avail
Phone is rooted, and has a 1 GB EXT3 partition on the SD card as ROM extension (SD Link).
Strange enough, the phone is also sometimes not correctly recognized on my laptop. If that happens, also SONY's support program for Windows, called 'PC Companion 2.0', is unable to connect to the phone when on USB.
What could that be ? Is my battery dying on me ? That's highly unlikely, because the phone is only 3 months old and i can run the phone for 3 days without recharging, if necessary (Thanks to root, removing facebook and the like, and the app 'SetXperia').
On the other side, the missing recognition from my Laptop would most likely indicate a problem with that BIOS being loaded from the ROM, no ? Do ANDROID phones even have something like a BIOS ? If so, is it made by the phone manufacturers ?
Thank you for helping me out, as i have rooted the phone i can not easily send it to service.
Regards
Christian
ADDENDUM / 0% battery problem related :
It may so happen that my problem is somehow related to the fuel gauge problem reported in this thread here, but i never experience a 0% loading state ? My batter never goes lower than 30% typically, and the restart problem will also happen if the battery status was showing 98% when i am shutting it down. However, it seems that the guys suffering from this do have a similar problem, i.e. the KERNEL not booting when they try to switch on the phone ?
Is it possible that some hardware part in the phone checks the status of the battery, detects it as too low and refuses to start-up, even though the battery is actually full ? But then, why doesn't it start with battery inserted when i connect it to the charger ? I first have to pull the battery, then it will start ?
ADDENDUM 2 / Power Saving App SetXperia messing with CPU clock:
As mentioned above, i am using the app 'SetXperia' to save battery. In 'default' mode it will constantly vary the CPU clock according to real need, in order to save on battery. Can this app confuse the fuel gauge, and my battery show it is fully loaded, while in reality it is almost down ?
Sounds to me like you removed an app that you shouldn't have. This happened to me the first time I rooted my Xperia Pro. Ended up in an endless boot loop.
The fix? Factory reset of the phone via PC Companion. There's information on exactly how to do it in PC Companion.
After it's reset, you can re-root it. Then be more careful about what you remove.

Hi, thanks for the input, but i am pretty sure this is not the case. Here is what i removed, using Titanium Backup:
SONY Sales Demo
Facebook 1.7.1
Facebook Setup 2.0.A.0.2
Facebook Calendar Sync
Facebook Extension 2.0.13
Facebook Notification Publisher 1.0
Facebook Post Viewer 1.0.A.0.3
Fun & Downloads 2.2.3
Moxier Pro 2.4.0
Music Unlimited 1.0.2
SEMC Facebook Proxy 1.0.A.0.7
Games and Applications 1.0.A.0.6
Street View 1.7.0.4
Twitter Extension 2.0.9
UEFA.com 1.0.0
Video Unlimited 1.2.0
Xperia HotShots 0.1.1
Anyhow, i have made a backup of all of them in Titanium before de-installation, so i could restore them if you really think that any of them could have an influence on whether the KERNEL (BIOS) will start after being shut down ?
Hi, here an update on the situation:
It seems as if the problem in fact IS somehow related to the defect fuel gauge, because i could make the following observations:
- sometimes the battery capacity in Android is displayed to be better than 60%, but if i shut the phone down and connect it to the charger, the battery is shown to be almost empty. This is a clear hint that on the Android level there is wrong information on the actual remaining capacity of the battery, most probably a result from the defect fuel gauge ?
- the problems are getting worse if i do recharge with Android running, especially when being connected to the USB port, and they are getting less if i recharge the unit using the charger, and shut off.
However, it is still confusing why the phone can not be restarted even if the battery is more than 50% full. In this case it will sometimes work to start the phone if i simply connect it to the charger (not USB on the Laptop, that hasn't worked for me so far) and wait for a few seconds, but in most cases i do have the use the trick described above, i.e. pulling the battery, connect the charger and insert the battery then.
I would really appreciate any comment from your side on how to solve that problem. Being a professional sales manager in the machine business myself, i am touring literally the whole world, and i need a working smartphone ! If this problem persists, i will have to switch back to Blackberry (which never let me down).
I could possible accept a shorter life time of the battery in some cases, but it s....cks badly if i can't even switch it on !?!
Will using an extra strong MUGEN battery pack help here ? They offer one for the Xperia Pro, i guess with almost 2,5 times higher capacity (3400 mAh) ?
Update:
Meanwhile i have sent the phone back for repair, more precisely to AMAZON's service partner for mobile phones in Germany, w-support.com GmbH.
I had told them to make a backup of all my data before repairing (costs 21,- €), but now they have sent me an email saying they can't do it, and were asking if they should continue with the repair nevertheless ?
If these guys can't even access the phone for a simple backup, i expect something must be seriously wrong, mot likely the hardware is defect ?
Will report here when i get it back, just so you know what the problem was.
Best Regards

RootXperia.zip, flashable in Clockworkmod. Works on every firmware on every Xperia 2011 device. From 2.2 to 4.0.3.
Hello guys
my Xperia Neo (MT15i) has a sudden death. I relate what happened.
I have a xperia neo from spanish vodafone, the day 14th of march, I finished my contract with Vodafone and I decided to change the phone company. Then I had to unlock the bootloader with fastgsm, with the test point method.
Once opened the bootloader, I wanted to upgrade my xperia neo and I put the Smart Xperia Rom with the Alliance kernel. I followed this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2023475
The phone worked very well with this rom in the early days but for 3 days ago, the phone started to work very poorly, consuming a lot of battery, 10% by hour, even if the phone was turned off.
Then I re-flash the phone with the same Rom, this was yesterday. Tonight I turned off the phone with a 25% of battery, it consumed 70% in 4 hours (from 95% to 25%). For this, I decided to turn off the phone until this morning, the phone was discharged and I try to charged it.
When I went to turn on it, the phone didn't turn on. The led of charge (red light) does not light, the laptop does not recognize the phone, I cant be in fastboot mode, neither flashmode, neither PC companion or SEUS repair. I have tried to remove the battery, the SIM and the SD card and later to charge it, but neither it works. Too, I try the flashtool for bricked phones but neither it works because I cant put the flashmode with pressing the back buttom.
What can I do for to solve this problem?
thanks you
pd. sorry for my english, it's a little bad

{Neo L, Neo, Neo V} THE "DESSERT" JOURNEY {Flashing//Rooting//CWM - Noob Guide}
Hi everybody!
Give to me some opinions about what can i do in this case. I have an xperia mini pro, but does not turn on. I tryed to connect it in fast and flash mode, but nothing. I was seding it to service, but they said that is a hardware problem, and cant do nothing. So, the phone is completely dead. Sometimes, from a long period, when i put it to charge the red led is start to blink like the battery dont have power; problem is the battery power is full, and after 2,3 minutes again dont give to me no sign of life...do u have some idea about that? Can i throw it to garbage( the motherboard) or...?

So if PC doesn't recognise device, it doesn't boot with fully charged battery it's hardware problem 4 sure. Maybe You could buy second device with broken LCD (but working mainboard!) and use it to repair Your phone. Or just send it to repair center - they should know how to replace it.
Is the device completely stock?,did u unlock the bootloader?
