Hello
This doesn´t work for CM7.
The app does a FC..
I installed vsuite 4.0 and it worked fine, but It just works with english commands. I would like to chang it to portuguese.
Maybe this ZIP is installing / overwritting the old version.
Do you think it´s possible to get only the language files for V4.0 ?
install from zip
I cant install from the zip file on my pantech break out, i get a signature error
can someone pls reupp this? thx.
Confirmed, not working. Installed in Neutrino 2.8. CWM did not install anything at all. Did manually, but still FC's...
However, I had a cwm backup of my earlier rom, from where I extracted the respective files, copied them manually to /system folder, fixed permissions, and it started working.
The extracted files can be downloaded here. I used ES File Explorer with root access enabled to copy files, but any file explorer such as Total Commander, Root Explorer, etc., can be used.
1. Download and unzip above file to your external or internal storage in a temp folder.
2. Copy VSuiteApp.apk file from system/app in unzipped folder to /system/app folder on your device
3. Copy nuance folder from system/etc in unzipped folder to /system/etc folder on your device
4. Copy libvsuite_mot_vs32_cmb103.so file from system/lib in unzipped folder to /system/lib folder on your device
5. Copy nuance folder from system/tts in unzipped folder to /system/tts folder on your device
6. Fix permission on all copied files (individual or in folders copied over) to rw- r-- r--.
7. Reboot, and hopefully it will work.
Thanks you unikorn.
This solution is not working for me on SGS2 (Lightning 6.1 - 2.3.4)
Done it step by step.
Its crashed on start.

that's because it is meant for Atrix 4G, not SGS2. Lib file is specifically for Atrix hardware. If you can find lib file for SGSII somewhere (may be from stock rom image), it might work for you. No harm in trying I guess

Thanks! This worked for me! Although it did FC at first. I went in and set permissions on each file and folder I copied to rwx rwx rwx, and than it ran fine. Not sure rwx is needed across the board like that, but at least it worked.
I am on TopSmarts 1.2 ROM.
Oh, and in case someone needs help view in the system folder, I referenced this http://androidforums.com/optimus-v-...9-guide-es-file-explorer-root-operations.html
Hmmmm, strange. I myself flashed TopSmarts 1.2 a few days back, so did the same procedure as I posted above. Worked fine for me. Don't know why you got that problem. But anyway, glad that it worked for you in the end. Cheers.
FC on my ATRIX with CM 7.2 ROM
I've set the permission to rw- r-- r-- to all files and directories I've copied to the system direcotry
I've only copied part of the tts files ('enus' and 'frfr' ones).
I follow the steps, fixed permission from rw- r-- r-- FC, rwx rwx rwx FC and back to rw- r-- r--. But app FC, even get a pop up at startup saying the app closed.
Disabled Cyberon Voice Command, and Voice Dialer but no luck so far.
I'm on AOKP (4.1.2) perhaps is meant to work in 2.3.6?

It works perfectly on my MRom
Thank you
I was wondering how you can change the file permissions for several files at once in root explorer? I copied the media/audio/ folder from another cm7 build to neutrino and moved all the files to the correct folders. Now there are so many files, i'de like to change multiple file permissions at once.
the easiest way is to use terminal emulator or adb shell, su, then do "chmod 755 *" for permission "rwxr-xr-x" or "chmod 644 *" for permission "rw-r--r--". The permission will apply to all files since wildcard "*" is used here.
You would probably have more luck using a terminal and chmod.
http://www.manpagez.com/man/1/chmod/
Generally it would be something like so:
chmod augo+-rwx <file name or wildcard>
a = all (owner, groups, other)
u = user or owner
g = groups
o = other
+ to add permissions, - to remove them
r = read
w = write
x = execute
Edit:
I'm way too slow...

Your answers gave me idea to use chown through adb shell the same way. And it works! Thanks all.
P.S. Can't understand why no one famous root file managers can't do batch and recursive chown/chmod.

Hello,
Sorry it's late answer, but was the same problem of you...I disocover that "Total Commander" and it do it perfect.
Thanks to all
Actually Total Commander still does not do it. Change a main directory to a specific user and hit recursively, nothing happens down the directory tree. It is only to change the date recursively.
i dont know if the real term is "PUSH" when you want to replace the mms.apk !! wanna ask sir how i can change the default messaging app in my android thanks for the answer
You habe to replace the Mms.apk in /system/app on your phone. To do so you need a file explorer with root privileges that is able to remount the system partition with read write option(normally it's mounted readonly). E.g. root browser or es file explorer
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
u could also push via adb which is my preferred method or put your desired app in a flashable zip,flash it in recovery,reboot,all done,no need to mess with explorer apps or setting permissions as it does it for you
use adb shell from terminal or command prompt:
1. adb push path:\mms.apk /system/app
2. adb shell
3. cd /system/app
4. su
5. chmod 644 mms.apk
6. chown root:root mms.apk
This post is about to improve the audio quality in LYF flame 1
This will improve full audio quality for both headsets and as well as speakers .
First of all you need to root your device
If you don't know how to root comment me down I will send you a link and you can follow the instructions
A 2x boost will experience in with your stock earphones
In this I am using DOLBY digital plus

Downloads this file
Extract
You must be rooted before installing this
1) copy the Dolby folder into system/ and change the folder permissions to rwx r-x r-x. And inside that folder there will be file . Change the file permission to rw- r-- r--
2)copy the etc folder and place into system/ and change the permission to text rwx r-x r-x
Inside that there will a folder ,change the permission to the rwx r-x r-x
And change the file to rw- r-- r--
And inside the folder there will be another file change the permission to rw- r-- r--
3)copy the lib folder to system/ and change the permission to rwx r-x r-x
There will be a file and folder change it to rw- r-- r-- and rwx r-x r-x respectively
And again inside that folder there will be file change it to rw- r-- r--
5)copy the vendor folder to system/ and have the permission to rwx r-x r-x
And inside that there will be a file inside a folder change it to rw- r-- r--
6) now copy the two apps in the extracted folder to system/app and change each permission to rw- r-- r--
Now restart
And check the app name Dolby it will be on your app drawer
If you got any crashes while using that app use "selinux mode changer " and change it to permissive to fix that issuse
If you need more audio quality and bass I will post another tutorial where I will use Dolby and viper4android
i change chmod permission succesfull of /data/local/tmp/myprogram with adb to 777 and with setuid and setgid, so can get the permission from owner of file and group to myapk program.
After this i check owner of grop sheell:shell and chmod 777, but my apk program can't execute this file, permission denied.
Myapk program has granted external storage acces.
external storage is /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/<pkgname> (not /data/local/tmp)
for executables use /data/user/0/<pkgname>
