Hi
I'm thinking of getting a Samsung Galaxy S3, but I would like to know if they can be easily Sim Unlocked? I found some referance to an exploit to sim unlock a the phone but that it may be patched in the future, is this still the case or is there a more permanent way to do it?

Sorry if this might be a neweb question, but I couldn't find the answer online.
Is the phone carrier locked? If so can it be unlocked? Will flashing a new rom solve the problem?
Thanks!
Yes, mine is locked in Vodafone RO.
The method i've seen till now is with sim unlock code using imei number. Hope there is another way, because i don't want to pay 40$ for a code.
i'm new in the android bussines and i don't know about flashing and stuff.
i heard rumors about rooting your phone and installing custom android. that will unlock it.
Hi guys,
Is there a way to unlock international galaxy s3 withour rooting a device?
If not, what is the free and simple way to do that?
This might be a stupid question but I want to ask anyway. I just bought a T-Mobile Note 2 (I searched that specific forum for answers as well) and am awaiting a sim unlock code from T-Mobile. (I know I can downgrade to 4.1.1 and unlock it via the hidden call menu but at this time I am not opting to do that). I flashed the 4.1.2 Root Injected Stock Rom. My question is, (which maybe I should have asked before hand) Will I be able to use the sim unlock code that T-Mobile provides me with despite being on the root injected 4.1.2 stock rom? Thanks!

Root will not prevent you from unlocking your SIM with the unlock code. Rooting your device and having root access is different then SIM unlocking your device. Overall, you should be all set once your SIM unlock code comes to carrier unlock your device.

Hi all
looking to unlock my galaxy s3 which is rooted on a custom rom on firmware 4.3
i understand its very difficult to unlock this phone for free on 4.3 and it looks like a paid option may be my only choice.. however when using free applications to unlock my phone they all cant read the current sim lock status which is slightly worrying. (i used vodoo, galaxasim)
to confirm i checked by using another carrier sim into the phone and it did indeed ask for a sim unlock code, so im not sure why none of these applications can detect the sim lock status
so im looking to purchase an unlock code and i hope it will work! can anyone recommend any options for me or is a paid unlock code the only solution
