Hello, I have had a Samsung Galaxy S II LTE from Rogers for three months now and it suddenly stopped working after trying to make a phone call.
The firmware was the Gingerbread 2.3.6 I believe (The most current firmware before ICS for the SGH-I727R)
There has been a history of attemping to install Cyanogenmod 10, but I had Clockwork Recovery installed and I was never able to install Cyanogenmod 10 because it gave me errors.
So I used Odin and an official release from Rogers to restore back to Gingerbread.
A month later, this is where I am at.
Status:
I can boot as far as the Carrier logo before going blank and vibrating every 2 - 3 seconds
I can go into download and recovery mode for 5 seconds before being met with a quick flash of a blue screen.
The phone randomly vibrates when a battery is inserted, when it is being charged, or a combination of the two
The battery needs to be taken out and placed back in before attempting a normal, download or recovery boot.
I also do not know if Samsung can tell, as there is no Clockwork Mod or any left over roms or Superuser permissions.
What should I do? Thanks!

There is no known section for the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE for Rogers, only the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket for AT&T.
If I am wrong, please let me know.

Correct, but except for the 'R', maybe everything is the same? In any case, you need to ask in the Skyrocket forum, they may be able to point you in the right direction. You won't get much help here.

I was reading in the tmobile galaxy note android development section of xda that someone has successfully flashed a stock T-Mobile note ROM image (rooted) and modem to our Att model.I attempted it but got stuck on the glowing Samsung symbol.Luckily i had a nandroid backup to restore to.Just curious if anyone has tried it on this model and been successful.

Yes, I have installed both. I uninstalled the T-Mo modem, as I found the Blaze ICS modem worked better for me.You need to try various modems and pick the one that is best for you. But I still have the T-Mobile rom. I like the wifi calling, it works well.
Can anyone link to these? I'd like to try the Tmo rom.
there is more involved than just flashing the rom/modem if you want it done right. There is a great thread in the tmobile GNote forum explaining how to do it. You have to flash the tmobile img file. I consistently got 6-9mb speeds but the real benefit is being able to use the wifi calling. Weird thing was that in order to get back to the i717 setup I had to revert back to stock, the re-root and flash twrp all over again. Only took a few minutes but just know that that is what it takes.

That's what I did I flashed the stock IMG with odin then went back into download mode and flashed the boot.IMG then went into twrp and installed the the uvg3 radio from the thread. The T-Mobile android splash screen came up then the little android that blasts off but then it just hangs on the glowing Samsung logo....does it take a long time to boot?Maybe I'm just not being patient enough because as far as I can tell everything flashes and installs OK

I had this same problem. I gave up. I'm running Black Star with the Blaze modem and everything is working fine for me.
I get er05 sim card error for wifi calling
I am running stock tmobile on the i717 and everything works very well except the wifi calling. I get the er05 invalid sim error. My sim is tmobile sim... . How can I get the wifi calling to work?
Install T-mobile stock ICS 4.0.4 on AT&T Galaxy Note i717!
I have owned the AT&T Galaxy Note i717 for about 1 month now and i unlocked it for use on T-Mobile USA's network
i started to miss my WiFi Calling, T-Mobile's HSPA+ speed's, and certain T-Mobile apps, so i started to wonder if this was possible??? WELL IT IS!!!

I can confirm that this works and will not brick your phone. I flashed it last week and made a video:
I used this method from the T-Mobile Forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1837907
Did it and worked now i have to unlock to use the T-Mobile sim card because its still locked to at&t.

Sir what about Korean Version of note SHV-E160L? Can i update to T-Mobile 4.0.4?

I've been using the UVLG3 Modem with Dag8's Liquidsmooth JB Rom on an unlocked i717 on T-Mo's $30 a month plan for months now with no issues and the 4G speeds.
Closing this thread and reverting all traffic to this one.
Was on Stock 4.1.2 Jellybean.
I Rooted the phone. (Successful)
I flashed the WRONG Clockworkmod Recovery(It was for Galaxy Note II, I think. (cwm6-recovery-i317.tar) instead of this recovery-cwmtouch-6.0.2.7-GTI9300.
Now, everything (it boots, buttons work) works fine except the touchscreen wont respond. So Im stuck on the setup screen (language selection).
Tried a fresh install of stock ROM. I even tried to recover from my old Cyanogen backup and it flashes fine. But the screen is still unresponsive.
Can anyone help? Thanks for any answer. And sorry if this is an old story to you. Im new here. Good day.

Get the flash counter reset and flash the stock ROM. Digitiser on note 2 needs higher voltage so note 2 recovery gives it more. You've blown your digitiser and it needs to be replaced

Read rootSU post ... note 2 digitizer takes more voltage ... he burn his digitizer.
I advice to get a otg cable conect a mouse reser counter flash stock and take it to service center.
Just say one day youre playing almost an hour straight and it stopped suddenly ...
Maybe it passes.
Take care

Do I need to replace the LCD too or just the Digitizer?
Hi. I mistakenly installed a wrong ROM on to my samsung galaxy s3 after that the touch screen was not responsive. I restored the Stock ROM but the problem persists. After googling i found I need to swap the digitizer. Does it need LCD replacement too or not?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Adeel
U overvolted the touch chip controller.
U probably need all screen replaced

I'm trying to update my phone, but my phone won't let me. My co-worker thinks it's because of the cLockwork recovery that's doing it. How can I get rid of the cwr so I can update my system
Well you didn't give any information on the software on your phone. Why not flash to an updated rom since you're already rooted. Searching and learning helps.
No Custom Recovery...

Your co-worker is right; no custom recovery will allow you to take an update on this phone. At the moment, however, you should not have to take any update.
What does it say on about phone under baseband?

Under reality.
The insane one provided, yet again, lucidity. This pertains to the Galaxy Note 3, which has a Knox fuse, and running custom recovery disables one's ability to take over-the-air or over-the-wire updates.
Your S3 firmware upgrade is not relevant nor is it germane to the question posted.

Verizon Galaxy Note 2 SCH-I605
Wiped phone with TeamWin attempting to unroot. Locked out in boot up now. Alll Power+Volume Up/Down combinations do not work. I had a 4.1.2 ROM with stock Touchwiz software while rooted. It became quite unstable and was crashing constantly.
I purchased a Note 3 and I am gifting this Note 2 who has AT&T. It technically works with the AT&T SIM, but my goal was to load the stock AT&T software.
Any help or advice moving forward would be greatly appreciated.

What about download mode? Volume down/home button/power button.. try that if you are able to get into that than flash the correct firmware through Odin
