I backed up all my apps with TiBu on my Rezound, then un-compresed them and installed them manually from the internal storage. :good:
I used ES File Explorer to back up some apps. But you know, all your apps will just automatically install when you first sign in to your google account. Unless you have some apps that are not properly acquired

THIS. I understand I can re-download the apps from the market. It's the data I am concerned with.

I want to install the TBH gingerbread release onto my Droid X. It hasn't been rooted yet so I'm worried I will lose access to SwiftKey and Shazam Pro. I got them for free through Amazon's new app store.
Can I use Titanium Backup to re-install these apps without root access after the GB install?
Does amazon have a system that would allow me to re-download them for free?
Titanium backup.
That's your best solution...
Idk if it, needs root to restore apps, I think no, but be safe and take the apk from system/app/
And save on your sd card
Amazon has let me install my apps on multiple devices (my current Fascinate and retired D1) so you should be able to reinstall them as many times as necessary.
Cool... thanks dudes
YOU own the app!
YOU bought the app!! (for $0.00)
YOU can install again as many times as you like.
YOU...just kidding
As noted, your Amazon purchases are available for redownload. I install and re-install on a couple of devices.

I did a full restore on my SGA. Then I did a root. As to keep all my apps, I used Appmonster to backup and restore my apps. Problem is now, all my apps are gone from the market list, thus I cannot update my applications. Any ideas on how to fix this?
That's weird. After restoring the apps they should reappear in Market. I haven't used Appmonster, but I use Titanium all the time for this purpose and it always work.
Have you tried installing something new? Maybe the list in market wasn't refreshed properly?

Try to install Titanium Backup from Market. There is option in menu to FIX market links to apps. Its worked for me! Try it and let me know if it worked.

I tried this exactly. and it said "Market Doctor has found no recoverable market link".
I think the reason for this is, appmonster, when it recovered my apps installed them from backup apk files it placed on my sd card. And as such the market had no idea they were being installed. but I was half expecting from posts for market to remember which apps I previously installed - only to find it remembered none.
This is such a hassle not being bale to update any of my apps. All regret
The only reason I used appmonster was because I was not yet rooted at the time.

If you see your apps in Titanium B.., try to back up them in Titanium B.. Then try to restore them with Titanium again and after that, try MARKET DOCTOR. I dont know is it helping, but you can try it. It want cost you nothing. If it not helping then... NO IDEAS from me right now!
I tried fiddling with titanium backup. I haven't gotten it to fix my market links.
But i did find a solution!
All i did was force stop the market application from the settings and cleared it's data. once i reset the Market and accept the terms. All my apps are back! YEHEY!

Opinions please, not just a program but what is your methodology
To back up my apps I use the software that comes preloaded on the device then transfer the backup file to my dropbox account

Ahh, just noticed that. Awesome. Haven't been playing around with too many of the stock apps in the app drawer.
The app is called appbackup it was preloaded on the device it displays ask your apps in a list then you just select the ones you want and back them up I then take the backup file which you can get from using a file manager and going to Asus/backup and transfer it to my dropbox or any other cloud storage app to make sure I never lose the file

Does the prime come with the same program for restore or are you saying it backs them up intact so that you can move them with ADB. Also been so long with root can we adb push without being rooted? Lastly do we need to reset permissions in the data directory

Hi,
Supposedly I buy a new android phone, let's say going from Galaxy S1 to S2. How can I transfer my stuff from the old phone to the new one?
Thanks
If you're rooted on the old and new phone you can use Titanium Backup, it can backup your Wifi settings too.

Pretty sure Google Play will install your previous apps automagically.
As for the rest, you can use apps like Titanium backup and SMS backup to transfer your other stuff and whatnot.
And don't forget to move your music, photos, videos as well.
Why do you go into radioshack. They have a cellbrite machine and its free to transfer everything over from your old phone to you new one. Better yet go into radioshack and buy your new phone there.
What if i want to install the latest version from the Play store instead of restoring from a backup? I do not care for the app settings. Is there a way to do that?

Is there an application which restores your applications automatically, after installing a new ROM? I know you can do this for titanium backup but I don't want to pay for it, are there any free apps which do this?
