Hey got a idea, hope it helps some app developers..
As u guys know Li battery will eventually get low backup due to chargings extensively(like whole night chargings). Many people forget to unplug their chargers even battery filled to 100% due some workloads or whatever..
SO HOW ABOUT CREATING A APP WHICH REMIND BY ALARMIMG AFTER GETTING 100% CHARGING
or
A TIMER WHICH AUTOMATICALLY STARTS WHEN CHARHGER PLUGGED AND ALARMS AFTER SOMETIME(say 1Hour)
Check out big text battery notification

Better make an app that can disable/cut charging after specified percentage of battery charge and started charging again when battery drop to specified threshold.. That would be awesome!!

Don't devices cut it off when it gets to 100% anyway?
Yeah that is how they work most of the time.

Hi.. Is there an app that runs in Razr which will let you know that the battery is fully charged? Something like an alarm?
I charge my phone in the night and I don't want the charger to be connected to the phone for a long time!!!
Thanks.

Before sleeping, set your Notification tone to your desired alarm tone and enable Battery Full Notification from Sound in Settings.... Job done
Sent from my XT910 using XDA
just to go in to more details on where it is, its in settings, then sounds and its right down at the bottom ' battery full notification'.
I tried that.. But doesn't that give you the alert only once? I want something which like an alarm which will stop till I plug it out off the charger.

I had Battery Monitor widget.. But still that app didn't alert me on full battery!! Have you tried using it on your phone?? I had Droid Essentials on my HTC Wildfire and it worked fine on that phone.. Here I couldn't find it in Google Play!!
i use it and it notifies me when its full. you have turn on the feature.

Get Tasker. And you can use it for tons of other stuff as well.
Isn't smart actions same as tasker?

Smart actions is to tasker as a bike is to a motorcycle... the have the same rudamentary setup, but the motorcycle is far superior and requires more knowledge to operate and perfect.

Thanks..will try that.

This app is likely Tasker but free and really much more easier to use than tasker...
I'm just curious, why???
The charging circuit, if functioning correctly will not let the battery overcharge and will stop the charge process.
Look at the icon on the phone, the lighting bolt goes away when fully charged.
The status will also indicate that. I don't worry about it.

So if I overcharge the phone, the battery won't be affected right? Like will the life of the battery reduce?
Sent from my XT910 using XDA
it's unnessay to plug the charge wire at all, when your phone is full charged, the current is limited to zero!

the stock Ecomoto chargers that come with the razr has circuitry in it that stops the charging when the battery reaches capacity, unlike the so called battery charged alert since the default increment jumps occur in 5% and 10% steps the phone will alert you a full battery when its really only at 96% and take about another 5-15 minutes to finish charging at which time the charger will cut it.
I first noticed this when I used it to charge my samsung galaxy player and 20 minutes after it finished charging I couldn't do the standard tap the power button to see the charge status bar, because the charger had cut power to the player.
In sound settings, there is a box at the bottom that will notify you when battery is full

The OP isn't looking for a simple ALERT he is looking for an ALARM style where it won't stop till its unplugged from the charger.
Full Battery Alarm
Search full battery alarm in the play store. The developer is Crazydog. Hope that's what you're looking for.
Apparently my phone has been off charge for 3H36M when infact it has been 6H30 mins..
I am using CM9. Anyone else coming across this?

Calibrate your battery....cwm, wipe battery stats, reboot, drain battery to the point where your phone won't turn on, charge whilst phone is off, when your phone says its fully charged, remove charger and plug back in to make sure, power on, drain battery again and repeat the process from charging with the device off.
Do that around 4 times. And then maintain your battery by not charging everyday, run your battery completely dead around twice a week. Turn wifi/data off when not using it, auto brightness, bluetooth off, minimize the use of widgets and lwp

Thanks for being so informative. I will do all of that. Is there a chance my phone will screw it self by re calibrating via cmw?
Also I trust your word about draining the battery twice a week, but I'm also curious as to why I've read in some places that you shouldn't let your batt drop below 10%. Is there a specific reason or is it just a false piece of information ?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Reset the stats does no harm . Drain twice a week is pure bull****.

+1. make ur batt fast die
Has anyone came across where the phone automatically shuts down even though says battery is at 60% and above even at 85% just force closes the phone system even had it where the battery light [red] flashes and have to leave phone off for a minute then it will turn on ok but them once it does boot after 1 min shuts down again
Tried battery calibration to no effect could it be the battery itself dying or could it be a fault with a kernel even though I've tried roughly 5-6 kernels and it does it all the same and on 5-6 different roms if anyone has any suggestion please don't hesitate I'm getting abit fed up of it doing it
Sent from my Xperia X10 using xda premium
hey dunc4n88, which ROM are u using right now?
If it's possible provide the link of it, so we can check if there any kernel update or error reported because of the same as you
I'm on ravij jb beats audio light rom with doomkernel v6 medium oc but tried loads of different kernels and roms and all of them the same I'm I've also noticed aswell I can't update busybox it'll update then once phone reboots it reverts back to old one

Ok I can tell you a cheeky trick to keep you going til new battery arrives
Place battery flat on a surface
Using a hammer GENTLY TAP AWAY until it's almost back in shape I STRESS GENTLY. Don't pop the cells
This worked for me while i waited for a new battery
That should push the cells back together
When u get new battery charge for no more than 2-3 hours at a time
Charging for a long time causes battery to Bleb from what I've heared

I can live with it for now just frustrating at times. For replacement battery should I go for same mAh on stock battery or go for higher spec mAh and what would be the benefits

When I look to see my battery usage it doesn't tell me how longs left on the battery. It tells me how long my phones (battery) has been on? I don't get it?
Look at my photo please
EDIT : in this picture my phone was charged and took of charge around 12am and left with the screen locked so I'm getting good standby usage just wondering why it's not telling me how longs left
Sent from my ST25i using xda premium
Just reset my phone so I can show you what I mean by it now its say 15 seconds and when I refresh every second it goes up?
Sent from my ST25i using xda premium
This is quite strange too!
Sent from my ST25i using xda premium
Are you new to this or something?
That's normal. At least that's what happens on my Xperia P.
It does not show you how much is left. Only tells you on how much time it has been on the battery.
Also, i don't think it would make much sense the other way around. Because que time left in the battery always depends on the use of the phone.
EDIT: There are some apps that tell you how much time you've got left, depending on the use you're giving

I hv also a problem regarding battery... When I put it on charge...if its 30% ...1 hour later still remains 30%...but when I restart gets the actual percentage...

At least yours is working to the point where the graph shows! Just recalibrate it, it's because you have modded the phone I think, mine sticks sometimes :/

It doesn't for a while but like for arnd 10 hours then no.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
A little over charging can even be beneficial according to some reports and data. However overcharging in general is highly discouraged and will damage the battery in the long run.(10 hours maybe too much in my opinion but a few hours wont hurt)
Might have mattered 10 years ago, but everything has circuits to stop overcharging now anyway so doesn't matter.

SDS originally showed as failing to boot after charging overnight .
But someone told me that when the battery fully charged, it would stop charging automatically even i connect to the mobile to wall plug..
Is it true...? I mean does it has something automatically stop..

It will not stop it will just say no to any charge and when the battery reaches arnd 95% to 97%, it will start charging and to full again. Then the cycle repeats until u stop charging.
