The amount of equipment necessary is going to cost a lot more than if you paid somebody like say mobiletechvideos to do it. Not only that it requires quite a bit of skill with a soldering iron to do it

Absolutely... I know it... But It's more expensive for me to send my device to USA (from IT)... Now I've sent the phone to samsung to know how much for repair it... if too expensive i'll try to jtag on my own, i've found the file to revive it and how to built a jtag cable... but i found so many jtag software that i don't know the one to use... and i miss how to identify the different jtag pads to connect the right wire... i tought a developer should know how to identify the pads... but no one reply :cyclops:

http://www.ort-jtag.com/blog/images/2012-05/samsung_shv-i717.jpg
But this is the shv-i717... i'll know if the motherboard is the same only when i'll open it... but i want to know how identify the pads before open it

Actually I think you are right. They look like they are the same pinouts but just numbered differently in each picture. Still, I think its the same. I got my box from a uk website I believe or maybe it was a china website. Took FOREVER to get though.

Also, don't expect Google Wallet just yet. I'm almost 100% certain our device isn't supported.

Did you test actually using NFC or just happy the apps/menu appeared? Lol
I can't test it cause I don't have NFC, still very skeptical about this...
Hmm, interesting... It's using NfcGoogle.apk instead of Nfc.apk, it's also not using /system/lib/hw/nfc.exynos4.so
It almost looks like someone forward-ported the Gingerbread NFC stack.
I'll look at it this weekend maybe... next few days will be busy.

Which probably wont happen cause they want to push ISIS.

I had to shoot the video on my wife's i**** 4 so believe me when I tell you it hurt my hands to hold that thing...
The case is from Best Buy. I don't know the brand. It just has "Pt" on the back. It came with a belt clip which I don't use. I don't really like it that much but I didn't want to walk out of the store with this beauty unprotected.

Look what came in the mail today.... A free white battery cover courtesy of HTC!

I just did it today, May 13th. I didnt have to take a picture or anything, he just asked what was wrong and what color phone i had and i said white and he got my information and it should be here by the end of the week. BTW my phones battery cover really is messed up so thanks for the post informing me of this, because i was about to buy one on ebay for $20-$30.
are white ones sold in germany at all?
guess it wouldn't work then.
will see if I can find out. I really like this white cover.
Btw the white one looks AMAZING on the phone. The phone looks so much better w/ the white cover haha its like having a whole new phone again. Makes me contemplate actually buying the Evo LTE b/c I actually like the look of the EVO 3d w/ the white a lot better
How does it look with the rest of the black housing? Pics on the phone?

But ya, to each his own, I will just continue to use my headset when needed, or toss on the nice pair of USB speakers when I want to use it to blast music while painting the house.

I apologize for the tease without any date. However, I am currently working with a company on the tooling. What with my Gandpa's funeral last week and other personal matters this weekend, it's been slower coming than I want as well.
Rest assured that once I get the process down, making cases for future tablets will be a MUCH quicker process.

How long do you guys think jellybean will take?

I am thinking about another 3 days, setting as how I already have a fully functional jellybean running on my xoom (google now with voice is oh so sexy) and I saw where the iconia got it, so surely we will be on this track soon, right?
P.S. I am not trying to start a "dev where is our jellybean?!" Thread, I honestly want to hear your guys' opinions on how long it will take?

This being the market leading device at the moment, I would say it won't take long for the XDA community to come up with something, though for a stock ROM from Samsung (and then the carrier's fooling around with said ROM) your guess is as good as mine.

I hear you. I'm playing it safe for the time being, just kind of watching the development. Probably going to root in a month or so, I'm sure it won't take long. The device with its stock ROM is already ridiculously smooth, butter it up and... well it will be as smooth as butter.

[Q] Note II no screen help

Hello, a girl knocked my phone off of my desk, but I have insurance from MDPA, which covers this, now, they need my to send my package to them for repair, but I want to back my phone up, simply the texts, numbers and most importantly, I want to restore it to stock, and reset the flash counter. The problem is that the screen is 100% dead due to the accident, any way for me to do this? Thanks in advance! :good:

There is a program you can install and output to your computer as a monitor, but you really can't install it if you can't see what you are doing. You could try using the MHL adapter and outputting to a tv or something. Just a thought.

I don't think the flash counter, but I guess you could run Odin without seeing the screen to restore it to stock
I'll say as an insurance claim I don't think they tend to care if it's rooted.
