Android Beam - Verizon HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE

Has anyone tried android beam with this? I just recently picked up a dna and was trying to send some pictures back and forth from the Inc to the dna and the Inc won't send anything... it receives SOME things but it won't receive pics because they are too big... Is anyone else experiencing this?

HTC fanboy here so I'd say dna all day but... The note 2 does have its advantages... Tbh I wouldn't really call the dna a phablet... It's just a big phone so I would say it's more comparable to the gs3

What do you suggest for upgrade

Upgrade is in two weeks, what is your suggestions? Anything now or is there anything in coming months to wait for? I want note II but I don't see it coming to Verizon.

Supposedly the Droid Incredible X is rumored to be the Galaxy Nexus 5 and will hit Verizon soon. It sounds really impressive. But as of on the market now, definitely a Galaxy S3.

You'll look like a jackass holding the Note II up to your face.....
Wait for the Nexus hubbub, but if Verizon doesn't get a new Nexus, get the Galaxy Nexus, it's basically free with contract.

Well I'm pretty sure I may be getting HTC's first "phablet" with a leaked name of HTC DNA (others know it as a rumored name of the Droid Incredible X) when my upgrade comes in 3 weeks. That is around the time it may be released.

Okay I didn't mean that offensively, that's just my opinion, if I saw you holding a Note on the side of your head, I'd think you're a well dork, jackass, all the same.
That's just me, I mean people feel similarly about belt clips for phones, for example. Just opinion, and an opinion over the internet at that. Everyone hates you on the internet....

The only way I'd pick up another HTC device is if it were a Nexus. For the cheap way out I also vote for the GNex.

Sorry to say this but wrong on three accounts. The galaxy part of the nexus name was Samsung's idea for their version of the phone. Google wanted to call the last one the nexus prime. LG was/did get the contract for the new nexus and this one is the 4th generation nexus which would make it the nexus 4. Sorry..... Rumors have it that the new nexus may not make it to Verizon because the LG version of the phone will be on the network. From what I have read the only difference is that the nexus variant will sport vanilla android. This may not be a problem though with the hardware being the same the roms should port right over. Personally, if I were you I would go nexus. They have by far the best update rate of all of the phone available.

DNA thoughts (To be a second Rezound or not)

Anyone think there will be a rezound 2 or will the dna be the next thing we all jump to?
A few Google employees that "leak" phone info are really loving this phone.
As for my opinion, no it's not a Rezzy 2. The DNA is beast!
The deciding feature for me will be whether or not it has space heater functionality. Without that, it can't truly be the Rezound 2.

16gb of storage is unforgivable. I could have coped with a fixed battery, but being unable to pop in a SD card for more storage - not happening. The cloud is not an acceptable excuse, when data caps are hilariously low. USB OTG is likewise not a good substitute; my phone should not need a tail.
Also, not really encouraged by HTC's history of supporting their phones after launch - for instance, the ICS update which we only got half a year+ later than promised, on top of it having some bugs that will probably never be addressed. JB is a pipe dream.

Thats the only thing I miss from the rezound, but not nearly enough to go back. The rezound really was such a disappointment. The rezound was the main reason I didn't go with the DNA, i've just lost all faith in HTC.
Pretty sad that my old Thunderbolt could do this on 3g and my Note2 can not. I never realized how used to it I had become until I have been trying to surf while on the phone lately with my note. At my house 4g is spotty, if I make a call and during that call it switches to 3g, it will not reconnect to the mobile data until I hang up.

DNA no longer on Verizon store website.

Bye bye DNA...

We have an amazing phone, it's more powerful than all of the phones out right now, has decent battery life, decent reception, and doesn't look half bad - it's the tail end of the last generation of phones. It's nothing to be ashamed of. And we'll have a fully working CM very soon too. Yeah, the One is nice and all, but really this phone is a beast that's gonna stand on its own for quite a while. Top-of-the-line phones always lose their crown eventually.
yeah, we couldn't order DNA's anymore back in my store lol...guess she's dunzo.
I like my DNA. I don't think its worth it to get an HTC One because the screen is smaller, and no QI wireless charging(But when will i ever use it?) The DNA seems to be almost the same size. I can care less about the front speakers, but more storage is better. My DNA is smooth enough. The One's camera seems cool, and UI looks nice(but we may get an update). Hopefully we get a DNA+ instead.
Here's more on it from Android Central

To answer a question above yes we will still see updates. The og incredible and charge got an update recently for crying out loud and those have been retired for over a year. I can bet however our sense 5 update just got pushed back. Hopefully not the usual Verizon time frame where we don't see it until 2014.

I like my DNA. Just hope the Htc one doesn't turn out to have issues like TB. Htc seems in a bit of a rush to put out more phones that are not super updated phones over the last model. I like the DNA screen size. Not real concerned with speakers as DNA sounds great with external speaker. Camera is fine, I will live with the camera till next upgrade. More storage would be nice but now not a deal breaker. Sounds like Htc is taking after motorola same phone some minor changes.! doesnt have me in a rush for a new phone as wtf another version is just around the corner in a few months lol. Just think of what will be out 2 yrs from now!!!!!

Get a DNA or hold out for One or DNA 2?

I've got a Galaxy Nexus and it's about time to retire it. I don't know whether to get a DNA or hold out for a One or DNA 2 (or whatever it'll be).
I am due for an upgrade within a month.

I dont think you can go wrong either way honestly. The DNA is a stellar phone. Most people believe it's still on par with the S4 if not better then it. I came form a GNexus and I can honestly say that I would rather have the DNA then suffer another day with that phone. lol. The One is going to be awesome if it ever comes to Verizon but I'm personally tired of the games they're playing about it.
its really up to what you want in the end. they DNA is good enough. the S4 is a bit faster but plastic and has 13 mp cam. the One is premium build quality with 4 ultrapx and a hair slower than the s4...I would recommend the One...i ended up getting a DNA like a couple of weeks before One but am still very happy

Well not officially but I don't know how it couldn't.
I went to the vzw store today and messed with the DNA. IMO it feels a lot like my old original incredible. I like the wireless charging. I really want sense 5, but will the DNA ever get that without rooting?
I really need better battery life too. I've got an OEM 2100 battery on my nexus and barely get through a work day with about 90 minutes of talk time and 90 minutes of screen time. From what I'm reading both the DNA and One get great battery life.

I believe the DNA one of the devices Sense 5 will be rolling out on. The HTC Butterfly, which is essentially the internation version of the DNA, already has an official Android 4.2/Sense 5.1 leak available.
I wonder how long I'll have to wait if I were to hold out for a One or follow up to the DNA. I sure like the button layout better on the DNA than the One. That home button on the right is stupid IMO.

If you'll be paying Verizon's price, I'd wait out for the One/DNA 2.
Also keep in mind that the DNA has 16gb of memory, while the One comes with 32gb as the base option. I personally would wait a bit longer just for the extra memory.

A "hair slower" is a relative statement. The benchmark differences are exactly what you'd expect from a .2ghz difference, though for real world usage the difference is negligible.
The DNA is great, it's here now, it's marginally different from the One, and it's not very expensive anymore. Especially with the prospect of moonshine S-OFF, which would enable you to get Sense 5 if it doesn't show up in an OTA any time soon, I say go for the DNA.
