Hi. Tommrow i'm getting US T-Mobile HTC One 32GB. I've looked everywhere and this forum has seems to have people who know what their doing. Is there any third-service party beside T-Mobile themself who can help me,free or paid, to sim-unlock my phone here.
Here being israel. any help, solutions and such be VASTLY welcomed.

MyHoian Unlock, cheap and best ($3.50 for any HTC phone and equally cheap for the Samsung). Got my code in a couple of hours though they list 12 hours

Yes it did. Unlocked three, two on TMO & one on ATT, all USA
Hi,
Firstly, I'd like to apologise if this post is either in the wrong place, or if the answers are extremely obvious. I'm fairly new to this site so I'm not 100% sure where to post, I'm fairly new to unlocking as I've previously only used factory unlocked phones, and I'm fairly new to Android Rooting so I'm not completely sure of some things.
Long story short, I currently own an HTC One X+ which is locked to the UK O2 network. I want to use a different network so I'm going to have to unlock my phone. O2 will not unlock my phone until 12 months after I've owned the phone, and even then they'll charge me £15. eBay has multiple sellers offering an unlock for £1, but I have two questions before I go ahead and purchase it/send them my information.
Does O2 require you to wait 12 months from purchase because they want to make some money from you, or is it physically impossible to unlock a phone until 12 months after purchase? (this question seems pretty silly seeing as you can buy factory unlocked phones, but I thought I'd check anyway)
Will unlocking my phone affect my ability to root in any way? (again, I feel this is an obvious answer of 'no' but I just want to be sure)
Thank you in advance for any help provided.

1) yes
2) no (my device is the o2 one and it's now running fine on 3)
My HOX+ is/was on contract with Vodafone which I received in November 2012 when I upgraded. My phone is rooted, unlocked bootloader etc. I switched to GiffGaff a few weeks back to get off contract (it cost me to pay off the Vodafone contract but I'm £23 a month better off!). Anyway, I never had to get a PUK or anything, just popped in the new SIM and I was good to go.

Is that a yes they only do it to make money from you, or yes you have to wait 12 months?
Thanks for your initial response.

I've already tried putting a SIM in, I just get the Network Locked notification..
Managed to find a seller who could unlock my phone, so everything is great now.
Thanks for all the help, this thread can be locked/left to die now.
Thanks again
First time here, but I have had no success in finding a sim unlock code for my HTC One. It is currently locked to AT&T and I have tried at least 6 or 7 different unlocking sites but to no avail. Every unlocking site has sent me a refund saying that they could not find a code or unsupported IMEI. My question is why is this happening? I bought the phone on ebay since there are no carriers on Guam that currently sell the HTC One. There is a local shop that can network unlock my phone but it will cost me $110. I would rather not spend that much money. Does anyone have any ideas as why this is happening or maybe help me get my phone unlocked? I would gladly pay someone as long as it will get my phone unlocked. (sorry about the long post)
It's probably stolen or a fake.

Have you tried using this site yet? unlockcode247 I just used it a few days ago to unlock my AT&T HTC One. It cost me $3.20 and it took like 4 hours for me to receive the unlock code. I just put in the IMEI number on the phone and that was it. I hope this helps you.
I have the att HTC one that I bought off contract at best buy around july. I've been considering unlocking the phone to test out T-Mobile. I've been requesting online from att to have the device unlock but it keeps telling me that the device currently can't be unlocked. What gives?

How long have you had service? You need to have ATT service for a minimum 6 months I believe.
I have been with att since 2009. I am still under contract til Oct 2014 but that shouldn't have anything to do with it since the phone was paid in full. I thought it was six months for their gophones? At least that's what I understood from their website.

hey there josé!
i hope you are well. why don't you hop on over to the good folks at http://www.unlockcode247.com/imei/1/26/Unlock-code-for-any-ATampT-TMOBILE-HTC- ? :good:
i have used them a few times. the unlock cost me $3.20 and about 2 hours. a few times they took longer. but it's a comin'
and then you don't have to beg for a solution, when you already paid so much for the phone. :silly:
Okay well here's a quick one to bust some bubbles. I bought my HTC One via Wal-Mart on promotion in April. In June I figured to hell with At&t. With that being said I rooted the phone and got S off. Then found a mod on the Development fourm for the One that let me unlock the international menu. I bought a Net10 SIM Card at Best Buy. Cut the SIM to fit and BOOM!!!!!!!! No need for a UNlock code or any of that. Net10 gave me the apn info and from there I've been able bypass all the usual hassle.

OK I was finally able to unlock the phone. I called Att and told them that I had purchased the phone off contract at best buy and that when I would request the unlock code via their website it wouldn't accept my request. She then tells me that if I had bought it off contract the phone should have been unlocked, which was a lie. So then she starts questioning me asking where I bought it, how much I paid etc. I then told her look I have the receipt if you don't believe me. She says well we are going to need you to fax us the receipt. While she is setting up the claim she asked why I wanted to unlock it. I told her because At&t coverage at my house sucks and I wanted to test out t-mobile since my brother gets excellent coverage on his htc one. So I faxed the receipt and next morning had the unlock code. I tried unlocking the phone only to realize that since I had converted my phone to gpe I had to reconvert back using the leaked ruu and then unlock the phone. I am happy to report that finally I was able to unlock the phone. And then I converted back to gpe. Far way better speeds and coverage on T-Mobile prepaid than on att. Well at least at my home. I'm looking testing the coverage on T-Mobile at work and school before I make my decision on fully changing carriers.

Why can't I unlock the phone if I paid full price for it? I don't see why they should make me wait to get the unlock code.

yep, you didnt get lucky, they had no choice but to unlock it if you paid in full
just a tedious process that they made you run through
very simple solution, call ATT and tell them you are going overseas for a month and u want to be able to use ur phone with prepaid sims so u need them to unlock it for you and they will do so with no questions asked

Wow you are one lucky guy. Tried the going overseas line and got nothing. So i went through an online unlocking service. So which carrier did you end up sticking with?
Hi ,
I flashed a hell fire rom on my att htc one. Can i just enter the unlock code or do I need to first restore my phone to what it was before (as it came from AT&T and then enter unlock code ).
OP,
did you ever get the phone unlocked?
I'm in a similar situation as you but have a Moto X and they flat out refused to unlock my phone.
Tried some 3rd party unlockers and the code they gave me did not work.

Normally their policy is after 3 months from the moment you got the phone you can request the unlock code. and also the unlocking really comes out of who you talk to... Some are very easy going other not.

Yea, i saw that its 60 days. is it possible to activate my phone overseas for 60 days? It really does seem like the unlocking is very random and down to whoever you get on the customer support line. I've had no luck and have a 500 dollar paper weight !
me and my brother both bought our AT&T HTC one's in contract.
we both used a third party online unlocker to unlock both our phones.
Costs us each 10$ and within minutes our phones were unlocked.
it's stupid of them to antagonize their clients like that.
just drives people aways.
I've had Sony Z5C on contract from O2 UK years ago and it had "bootloader unlock allowed : no" in the service menu (ruined my life) and just wandering if they have done the same thing with the Xperia 1?
Looking to buy this device or maybe the 2, so if anyone has picked it up already on contract from O2 could you please check this for me.
Many thanks in advance.

It's not always consistent so even if someone says they can't/can on O2 doesn't mean it will be the same for you. All down to luck of the draw

It's the main reason I never bought from O2 for a long time. I learnt the hard way with the Xperia S back in the day!
Anyway, nowadays, O2 only sell their phones unlocked on their Pay Monthly contracts (not sure about PAYG). Regardless, I can confirm that my Xperia 1 bought directly from O2 is unlocked, and the bootloader can also be unlocked.
Hope that helps.

Haven't tried tethering, but there was an app installed which could easily be removed. No O2 boot screen which is good.
I'll still be flashing to UK generic firmware once it is available!

Thanks for helping me out. I now know I'm most likely going to be safe getting a Sony device from them again! How are you enjoying the 1? Looks a great shape for one handed use. I'm going to wait until the size of the 2 is confirmed, I'm really hoping it's the same width just with a less elongated screen, that will be perfect imo

It's a nice handset, however suffering from a few performance issues at the mo. Hopefully it should be sorted with a software update, but noticing the odd micro-stutter here and there.
Still getting used to the form factor, as it can be tricky to use in one handed mode - not so much for the width, but for the length. It can feel like the handset will topple i.e. being a bit top-heavy, which is due to how long it is. Probably will get used to it. Will be interesting to see how the Xperia 2 moves things forward...

That sounds annoying, I've currently got a 2.5 year old OnePlus 5T that I've dirty flashed over 20 beta updates without ever doing a wipe and it's still absolutely flawless performance with 4-6 hrs sot everyday and a ridiculous amount of apps installed, the only micro stutter I've ever seen since I've had it is in a 3rd party app, bit of a lag swiping away a tab from the recents in kiwi browser and that's it. Hopefully it gets sorted for you in an update soon.
I'll go into a store and hold the Xperia 1 and 2 when it's released, I only want a new phone because I have a slight crack in the screen of my 5T so in no major rush right now I don't wanna regret what I buy.
I would have bought the OnePlus 7 pro but the size is just stupid IMO and if I bought the normal 7 I'd just feel cheated I was missing out on the things the 7 has.
Thanks for your help with this and if you don't mind when the Xperia 2 comes out and I go phone shopping I may drop you a pm to see if any updates have sorted the performance issues for you.
Sure - no worries at all!

I know its been a while from this post. I just pre-ordered Xperia 1 II from O2 using a relative account (I live in the US and relative will mail me the phone once received). Paid full price of the phone up front and plan is month to month (postpaid not prepaid). Do you know if the phone will be unlocked out of the box? or an O2 sim needs to be inserted first time? O2 website says all their phone shipped after 2019 are unlocked but wasn't sure if an O2 sim need to be used firs time you turn it on. That's how it was for some Samsung unlocked phones 2 years ago. Would appreciate your response
No need to insert an O2 sim. I inserted a Three network SIM straight away and it worked fine. I don't believe anything has changed in the intervening year.
