Battery and Insurance Claims - HTC Droid DNA

I have a question.....currently all of my phones and tablets are covered by Asurion and I've never had a problem getting a device replaced if I had an issue, and I simply put my old battery back into the replacement device, but the point is that it was MY battery. With the DNA having a sealed battery, does that mean...let's say my phone goes kaput in a year, I'll get a replacement phone with an obviously sealed used battery? What if the battery doesn't hold a proper charge? It's not like I could just go and buy a new one.

Well after a year I'd say it's a pretty good bet the battery in a refurb DNA would be better than your year old battery.

Solid Red light = no power

The other night, I put my phone on to charge (OEM charger). When I woke up, the charge light was solid even after I unplugged it from the charger. The phone was off (on when put on to charge) and will not turn on now. I have removed the battery for a while and reinstalled. I have removed the sim also and tried that way. I have read in -other- forums that this either means: 1. Phone is toast. Trash it. 2. Battery cover is damaged.
I bought it on ebay and it worked GREAT for 4 months. I flashed it with 6.1 standard just after I got it. I don't belive that the ROM is bad. As for the cover...Mine fits tight. When I flip it over, I see -1- metal piece on it. As I understand from discriptions, it is supposed to have -2-. I cannot find a picture online verifying this. I don't want to pay $15-$20 for a battery cover when I really need to buy a new phone.
So...anyone know how I can fix it? Any (reasonable) suggestions?
Thanks!
Update
I went to a few cell repair shops. Unfortunately, they told me that the motherboard has a short in it and it will need a new one. They also told me that it isn't worth replacing the motherboard ($150 was the quote I got). It would be best if I bought a new one.
Anyone know where I can get a NEW one? Ebay only has used.
Thanks!

buy one used on ebay, got a motherboard from it, and replace yours

Does this make any sense?

After battling with Verizon for the past week about my phone not serving its primary function, as a phone, they agreed to send me a Dinc2. Now the lady said it would be a factory refurbished device and would not ship with a battery or battery door, I would have to provide these. I went ahead and ordered the extended battery with door, but it just doesn't make any sense to me. I'm kind of thinking since the phone is still new I might just receive a new device and return the extended battery, but wtf? Seems strange.

If they are sending you a replacement device and it isn't the same device you already have, it is almost always going to be a "refurbished" unit. However, they are supposed to provide all items needed to use the new unit, and I wouldn't have bought anything and instead taken the phone into a store and complained. At the very least, you would have gotten a battery and cover for free, and if you play your cards right, you could potentially walk out with a new phone.
The female rep I talked to said she will be sending only phone + battery + back cover, but when I got it it was clnr(certified like new replacement in the box; SD + Wall Charger(USB)). I didn't send neither my fascinate charger or sd card since they aren't the defective one.
So you won't know until you get it.

She did seem rather reluctant to offer the Dinc2, at first she was going to offer me an early upgrade that would extend my contract and I said i could not afford a new phone. She then said she would meet me halfway which ended with the refurbished "shell" of a Dinc2. I figured this is the best I would get but I'll just wait till tomorrow to see what actually comes, and possibly go complain to my local Verizon store where the workers sadly recognize me from the endless pobems with the fassy. Either way, I got the extended battery/case for $40, so not a bad deal for potentially a $40 Droid Incredible 2
Oh, and keeping my fingers crossed that it ships with Froyo. I don't want to have to resort to an XTC clip

Verizon should always send you a phone with the cover and battery, they can not expect you to go out and spend money if they decide to upgrade you to a different phone but not provide all the parts for the phone. If they were gonna go that route they might as well of just sent you another fascinate. They are essentially saying, here is a new phone, but with only 50% of the parts in it.
Phone arrived this morning and it was just the phone and battery door, no battery. I took it to the store and told the guy they forgot the battery, he made a phone call, and I will have a battery delivered to my door tomorrow for free. Thanks for the tips, they saved me $40 and a few added millimeters of thickness to my new phone.

worth fixing?

I made another post explaining that my phone will turn off by itself randomly and then today I had something very unusual happen. it was charging in my car, then suddenly stopped charging even(was at 62%). I unplugged it & plugged it back in then suddenly the screen glitched out and went black(but the power light was still on). The phone was unresponsive so I unplugged it and pulled the battery. I waited a bit & put the battery back and then it turned on normally. Once it was up though, the bottom left corner of the screen was super bright and looked like it had fluid behind the screen. I freaked out and pulled the battery again. I then took the phone apart and found it was completely dry and no water damage indicators. I sprayed it all down with canned air and put it back together but it still has that issue in the bottom corner(although the screen is still operating fine).
whatever that problem is, it takes up more then enough of the screen to bother anyone + is still doing the random power offs. I do not have insurance + with the S-OFF and the void sticker now removed from the screw I doubt Verizon will do anything. I'm sure it will be over $100 to fix this(just not sure how much more), so would it be worth it to fix this or just buy another phone off of craigslist?
Call Verizon and tell them about your problem. have them send you a replacement as it is still under warranty. When you get the new one CAREFULLY remove the void sticker (heat it up, hair dryer, lighter, whatever you have lying around that can do it) from the replacement, and put it on the one you are sending back.

Unfortunately, since I traded my old phone for this Thunderbolt they(Verizon) told me it is no longer under a warrenty. Instead, they offered to send me a new Thunderbolt in the mail for $250.... I then asked about the Bionic and was told they'd give me a new Bionic for $300. I'm debating what to do now.
p.s. a local cell phone shop said they could fix my phone for $140 but couldn't guarantee if the buttons at the bottom of my phone would light up again or not.
Do you mean you already have a replacement Tbolt? If so I think you only get a 90 day warranty on those.

well, i got my original TB when i signed up with Verizon. i took it back within the 30 day period and exchanged it for an Incredible 2... some time later i traded the Incredible 2 with someone for this TB.
so more or less, yes... replacement of sorts. i explained this to the verizon rep(who apparently already knew).

[Q] replacement battery???

So uhhh imma just cut to the chase me being the smart guy that i am I poked a hole in the battery bag because my back was peeling off and I bought a new plate out it on and it still was peeling off for some reason so I assume it was the battery pushing it off. Some guy on Google+ said he poked a hold in his battery bag for all the air to go out and it worked fine but for me now my phone gets to like 70% - 80% then cuts off I'm feel like that's becuas of the hole I poked and not the ROM. So before I buy another phone are there any replacement batteries or back that come with the battery that I can buy?
I know you probably say why I didn't call Motorola or Google and I did but I don't have another $600.00 for them to do a account hold for a replacement. If you have any other idea I'm all ears.
I'm not aware of any. Just a warning though, don't put the phone near anything flammable. A damaged lipo is a dangerous beast. It's impossible to say what state yours is in, but be careful. And don't ever stab them again. It's a very bad idea. If the battery is creating gas in there, it is damaged and needs to be replaced, not damaged further. It's quite annoying they didn't make them user-replaceable, but it is what it is. Send it back if you can't do an advance replacement.

Bought a Nexus 6P used from ebay... now it has a bad battery

Hello, everyone
After the charging circuit went on my Nexus 6, I went out and bought a Nexus 6P on ebay. The seller has a good rep and said the device was in 100% working condition and extensively tested. The seller has not gotten back to me yet about asking for a partial refund, but I did pick up insurance through Assurant. Has anyone had any experience of fixing the battery through Assurant? Also the battery is dying from 95% percent and down. Could this be just a meter issue and not a battery issue?

Sorry to hear this... it is the battery for sure- and the dealer should not have sold it without that disclaimer. Normally I would say source your own battery from a known good dealer and have it replaced at a shop near you. Since you have Assurant you may have to go in a different direction. Beware there are a ton of dud batteries out there and you may get another. Good luck.
I just put in a new battery. Got it from eBay. It is an exact factory replacement with sensor. It is holding a charge 100% better than the previous battery. It was easy to put in...just have to be careful of the screen ribbon under the center of the battery.
Battery 17$
New back and finger print sensor 21$

Here is an OEM battery I just bought. https://goo.gl/jmYfn9
Also be sure to get a camera glass. It will most likely crack.
