Hello everyone,
So my Galaxy S2 stuck on a Yellow Triangle showing. I can access Download mode, but cannot access Recovery mode.
All I wanted was to flash CWM so I can install a custom ROM. I've done what it says in here.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631934
Iv'e never rooted my phone!
I clicked started and it did everything fine, but after rebooting I'm stuck on this yellow triangle.
What should I do? Please help me...
Maybe post details about your model/rom.
the cwm is for i9100G not i9100, whats the model of your phone ?

Download "SpeedMod K3-32 for Odin"
Flash it using ODIN when in download mode and your phone should boot normally hopefully..

After I do this can I UPGRADE to a custom rom with JB or ICS?

Anytime if i helped please press the "thanks" button
Now your rooted on GB with CWM, If you want to upgrade to JB you have to Fully wipe(all your app data will go) your phone...
1. download this rom(I think its the best and most stable JB rom) or this 4.0.4 ICS Rom(more stable than JB rom)
2. Now you need to make a backup of all your apps and app data using "Backup all user and system apps", back up using Titanium Backup from Google play.
3. Flash the ROM using CWM.
4. Restore only user apps(and data ofcorse) Never restore system apps or data(or u will get Force closes)
- NEVER use 'i9100G' Roms or you will brick your phone use only I9100

Hello, i tried that solution but it doesn't work to me, the phone is still booting with yellow triangle and exclamation mark, after that the screen just become black, i can still access to recovery and download, but nothin else.

The yellow triangle is just samsung indicating you are using 3rd party rom ignore that. The blank screen could means you did not flash the rom properly. Try redoing all the steps again.
if all else fail, flash a stock samsung rom

Run away from ROM manager, it's not fully compatible with our phone.
You need ROOT access inorder to get CWM recovery.
Visit this THREAD for the safest rooting method
then flash this Siyah or Speedmod via CWM recovery in order to have a permanent CWM recovery (optional)

I am following the guide that you send me.
I've installed the CWM , but when I continue CWM blinks for a second resetting to the first option.
I have still acces to my phone or whatéver
I've found out that using the volume buttons makes it reset , but the touch screen works.
Now im backing up my phone and install root files.
But i get a message no sd-ex found and can't install the rooting file

Dont try to backup in CWM recovery before flashing a custom kernel

If you try it before flashing a custom kernel, your device will be bricked. It's a known issue. don't try it before flashing a custom kernel

@Jokesy - Just a quick info..Even i did a backup using CWM backup and it was successful. I am on stock ICS 4.0.3 XWLP7.
I think the phone would get bricked if you try backup using CWM on a phone that has stock ICS 4.0.4. Correct me if i am wrong here.

You are partially right.
**If you're trying to do a ROM backup in CWM recovery**
1. Yes, the phone will be bricked if you are running stock ICS 4.0.4 ROM with stock/stock-based kernel
2. No, even if you 1. is applicable to you but you have a sane emmc chip.
-The only reason why I don't want people to risk it even after confirming their emmc chip is sane, is because I want them to be 100% safe.
I'll juststop here because Other points might lead to greater confusion.

I am a newbie from Nepal. I dont have much knowledge of flashing. A week ago i tried to flash CMW recover while i was in resurrection remix JB rom. Till then i am not able to start my phone because it freezes at "Samsung Galaxy S2" logo... Now i dont know the CSC, PDA and kernel version of my mobile. So please help me solve my problem, how can i make it work?
Boot into recovery (Turn phone off. Then hold home/power/volume up) & do a wipe/factory reset. Or if you have a recent backup (or any backup) restore that from recovery. I've done this a couple of times over the past few mths when my phone has spontaneously bootlooped.

I can boot into CWM recovery but the wipe/factory reset and cache deletion too would not help.. I dont have any backup and i am not able to access my external sd card too... so please can you help me now...

Sorry i cant access my external sd card in CWM recovery and i dont know how to access internal memory of my phone since it can only boot into recovery and download mode...
In that case flash any stock rom you like. I gather you'll be going back to a custom rom pretty quickly in any case (?) so it doesn't matter. Whatever you do tho, do not flash a PIT.

All I can do is download a rom which is in zip format, but i know odin does not support .zip but it supports .tar, so how can i download rom in .tar, also does it matter if I flashed the rom which is not meant for my region?(I mean I dont know my phone's PDA and I am not able to decide which firmware to download since every firmware has its own specific PDA)... Yes, I'll be going back again to custom rom after I make it work...haha
AFAIK a rom for another country wont break your phone, but be careful with 4.0.4 roms because of the brickbug

go to http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3 and choose the stock or even another stock rom you wish, download it.
Boot into download mode and flash the single .tar file through odin, flashing instructions can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
PD: if the downloaded file is .zip and not .tar, just extract the zip and u'll get the .tar

Amm, now i have a android 4.0.4 firmware in odin supported format.. and i am about to flash using odin.. but i got confused what did you mean by "but be careful with 4.0.4 roms because of the brickbug".. Please explain me... And thankx in advance..

Oh god, I am so confused. When I selected my PDA in the odin interface and I clicked start, it says "The Parameter is incorrect".. What can I do now???

Parameter is incorrect error can be caused by either of two reasons
1 . something is wrong with the file you downloaded try re downloading
2.Kies is interfering with Odin, terminate Kies from the background by using the task manager.

When my phone bricked i went to the store, they set the official software over my rooted one, i had very much lag, just flash a good rom and its over.

get original firmware for your region/phone from sammobile.com (you have to register but thats no biggy!) then flash through odin. Put the tar file in PDA - best do a quick search on hear and read the many tutorials :good:

i have done this after sucessfully flash my mobile it was booting but i switch off and try to run in recovery mode but now my phon is not opening i try to charg but no succes i tried this method dont know what happen plz help my phond is dead now

And root works. Now I want to get clockworkmod on my phone. I followed some steps on the internet and ended up getting my phone bricked. I managed to get it working again. Can someone please tell me what to do right? I used odin before and that was the cause of my bricking. So i'd rather not use that again.
I went to the clockworkmod/rommanger website and i found the s2 "Download Recovery" thing. If i flash this through the android recovery system will it work?
Help me out here.

Are you getting confused because there no icon.
Dont use rommanager as that can have dire effects on a phone.
And next time put in ALL details about your phone;model,rom etc.

If you are having official stock 4.1.2 rom then go to settings/about phone and check your baseband and then Go to philz Thread you can search it on XDA . Choose the zip one flash it from recovery you will get CWM.

I mean , when I boot into recovery its the default android recovery. Not the cwm. Not sure how to explain it but even before i rooted my phone. I had to boot into recovery, and the default android recovery screen comes when you want to flash the zip. After that I re boot into recovery the android one comes, not the cwm. So yeah the icon or the blue-ish recovery screen doesnt appear

Yes I have 4.1.2. I checked the thread out . My baseband is i9100xxms4 but the thread has only xxms1. Does that matter or?

Ok,I know what you mean now.That used to happen with rachmats rooting method;a temp cwm was flashed,and when rebooted,the phone went back to stock recovery.
Several people in the know recommend using pc odin(think you said you didnt want to use it) because it is risky flashing stuff by other methods.If you use odin to do stuff,then that means it is ready to help you out if flashing by cwm or mobile odin goes wrong.

So what can I do? I dont mind flashing cwm with odin as long as I dont brick my phone again. I've already rooted, if i use odin to get cwm , will it cause problems? Is there no other way to get cwm without odin? Maybe flashing a zip?

Which variant of S2 do you have? What did you flashed for superuser? You probably flashed the wrong file, flash stock again in odin or restore if you have a nandroid backup, then find whatever you need to flash properly, we can help you if you give us more information.

before this I use android 4.1.2 jelly bean official, I change to BiftorRom V10 JB XWLSW no wipe, I777UCMD8_modem, and jeboo_kernel_i777_v2-2_CWM in sdcard. after that, I exchange to revolutionROm, I follow all in youtube : After all okay, superuser order me update in CWM, when I press "CWM" telephone started restart and attached in "Samsung Galaxy SII GT_i9100" I try kill power and switch on back, it same. Can you go to recovery? (volume up+home+power) If you can, simply wipe data and cache, and see if it works out.

Can you go to download mode? (press down+ home+ power) when the phone opens, stop pressing the power button but keep pressing other buttons. If you can go to download mode, flash your stock firmware again via odin ( you can download your stock firmware from samfirmware.com) , if you get bootloop after that, go to recovery and delete data and cache.

Hi Dakura, I try to include another android official 4.1.2 in ODIN. When i click start, it FAIL. I try again, but it same. And i try to use a new RECOVERY file, It same. FAIL. Please help me. thanks.

Are u sure u are doing everthing correctly? You need to download stock from your region, check if you stock firmware is correct, you can search your development forums for stock firmware mirrors or you can download from samfirmware.com , you need to put it on PDA, and then just flash.

I Had this problem too at the past when update superSU.. If u face to update SuperSU again..Try update superSu with normal mode..

Before i update SuperSU, My WeChat Can't open moment, i know it problem in WeChat apps. Btw my SdCard not detect. And my gallery can't open and show the text "Not enough space. Delete unnecessary items such as ... pictures, videos..." that why i exchange to revolutionROm. It like Samsung note 3/Galaxy s4. Then SuperSU command update a SuperSU in CWM and i have a problem. -_- . now my phone back to normal, just gallery can't open. I remove the SdCard. it same.
As the message said, delete unnecessary items, if that doesn't work, format sd card (internal and external both) and if that doesn't work, use nuke script, re-install rom.
